There once was a Groom of the Stool
Who used to use some kind of tool
To wipe the king's ass
With a degree of class
Sounds like a job for a pompous fool.

It takes a clever mind to unearth such a bizarre, bygone royal office and turn it into a limerick that pokes fun with a smirk and a wink. Thanks so much for those kind words, Daniel. The current times we live in offer an endless plethora of things to make fun of. Isn't it peculiar how history seems to repeat itself - we seem to be living in a time when a certain world leader acts more like an ancient Roman Emperor than the leader of a democratic nation. We now have UFC fighters instead of gladiators to entertain the masses, on-going efforts to expand the empire, statues to immortalise the emperor, etc. Hail, Caesar! All the best. Cheers, Paul.
