Layla suffered from Cotards Delusion.
No one could convince her that she was not deceased.
She lay in her bed, prone and stiff for hours. 
Believing herself a corpse.
We all tried to wake her or disturb her.
But Layla was fully into her dead role.
I am dead, she thought.
Determined to be.
Layla refused to talk or move.
She would not eat or drink.
