Jaw-dropping beauty
Like a sea of seduction
Luring me offshore,
To feel your waves on my skin
I would drown wearing a smile
He
built a
sandcastle
too far up the
beach-
the
empty
moat missing
the incoming
tide-
vain
efforts
dissolve in
the first offshore
breeze.
Full moon
Glancing over
Blooming lateen sail
While galleon
Languishes
Drifting offshore
From port

Little by little
like a canoe in the deep,
Life sails on gently...
Though it may change course,
or wreck while sea-bound offshore;
often the truth saves!
Massing waves drummed offshore
Above them a partnered wind blew
Together they prepared to war
Against what I once knew
This dark and cold wet vastness
Brought forth my waterloo
Am I proud to be a Canadian, bet your bippy I am
Famous the world over as a “door's open” land
Neighbors next door
Speak in tongues offshore
Breathe the same air though we can't understand
Am I a proud Canadian, you can bet your bippy I am
Famous the world over as an “open door” land
Neighbors next door
Speak in tongues offshore
Breathe the same air though we can't understand
Am I a proud Canadian, you can bet your bippy I am
Famous the world over as an “open door” land
Neighbors next door
Speak in tongues offshore
Breathe the same air though we can't understand
Crystal shells glimmer
Porcelain as dawn,
Varnished by romance.
Like opal baubles.
He knits them offshore—
As passion’s keepsake.

Piano tuners and honeymooners
skipping to the music of the offshore ballet
sea-side sunshine coordinates the rhythm and timing

wide-eyed and whispering

Hello?....
Yes...... you can call me Thomas.....
......I tried that
Yes, yes.... you can call me Thomas
Ok, one more time
And again?....
Call me doubting Thomas
Yes, I appreciate my call is important to you
Ok... off and on again...
No? still the same.... can you call me a taxi
The waves lapping the hull of the boat.
Gentle rocking, lulling us to sleep.
Anchored offshore, we peacefully float.
Long awaited vacation, out in the deep.
This week is the best week we've ever spent,
Here on the ocean, alone with you.
Falling in love all over again
With you, the sailboat and the ocean blue.
Precious counter-weights
ships utilized for sailing,
ballast stones got dumped offshore.
But in empty hulls
sailors found common boulders
held incalculable worth.

Milky Way stars glow
much brighter when far offshore...
navigator’s guide
ever-changing sky
glorious dawns and sunsets...
spectrums shine above
lights in heaven’s seams,
stars are smiles from those who passed...
there they wait for us
Entry for Linda’s “Haiku Hodgepodge” contest

Anchored 25 miles offshore in the Gulf of Mexico
The rod bends sharply; anxiously I struggle to pull up my catch
Alas, not dinner, just a mischievous scarlet octopus
The line is cut, but with suction cups it clings to the boat
Why couldn’t this have been the one that got away?

For Silent One's "Five Lines"
beach day
I play
no turf
go surf
offshore
no oar
ocean
motion
I took
a look
I saw
a maw
sharp teeth
unsheathed
bright white
large bite
shark bait
my fate
I swam
I scrammed
faster
faster
faster
passed her
freestyle
sea mile
achieve
reprieve
ashore
before
dispensed
past tense
some fun
I'm done
In wake of that Dark night
I still am backing those shadows off..!!
Path remained endless
People come and go
Thorns stand and flowers bow
This country or that country
Fate never let you go
Much has changed
Much has not
What I have
What I owe
Till when, To what
Where is covert blow
In absence of Sun light
I still search those shadows offshore..!!
I search for your face in the scudding cloud.
The fresh offshore sea breeze tucks at my hair,
The timber of your voice, in tearful shroud.
I search for your face in the scudding cloud,
too painful to watch couples walking proud—
the memory of you at heartstrings tear.
I search for your face in the scudding cloud.
The fresh offshore sea breeze tucks at my hair.
Massing waves drummed offshore
Above them a partnered wind blew
Together they prepared to war
Against what I once knew
The dark and cold green vastness
Carried forward my waterloo
Upon the rocks it did press
Against what I once knew
So when the gray shadowed the land
It darkened my final view
Soon the waves crossed the sand
And took all that I once knew
Massing waves drummed offshore
Above them a partnered wind blew
Together they prepared to war
Against what I once knew
The dark and cold green vastness
Carried forward my waterloo
Upon the rocks it did press
Against what I once knew
Then a gray shadowed the land
Coloring my thought of you
And as the waves broke across the sand
They removed all I once knew
Massing waves drummed offshore
Above them a partnered wind blew
Together they prepared to war
Against what I once knew
The dark and cold green vastness
Carried forward my waterloo
Upon the rocks it did press
Against what I once knew
Then a gray shadowed the land
Coloring my thought of you
And as the waves broke across the sand
They removed all I once knew
What passion that lies before
Has drowned the truth offshore
Written heart, carved in blood
The spoken word is a flood
The written word is an earthquake
What passion is in doth shake
Lies in permanent form, carved in stone
Shakes the core, shakes the bone
Feel the rhythm in the hands
The fierce artificer
Dead without passionate plans
Now they’ll frolic wiser
Massing waves drummed offshore
Above them a partnered wind blew
Together they prepared to war
Against what I once knew
The dark and cold green vastness
Carried forward my waterloo
Upon the rocks it did press
Against what I once knew
Then the gray shadowed the land
Coloring my final thought of you
And as the waves broke across the sand
You stood as I once knew
