Can'T Keep a Plant - Weed - Down

Men and women pour tons
Of concrete, cement, asphalt, stones
The humble weeds seek the Sun
Foundation. Humans quip they won!

Nature Entices

Cold nature entices,
effects of the white snowflakes,
numb nose toes frostbite.

Sweeping

everyday i sweep the leaves off
the porch with
full knowledge that
come tomorrow
their brothers and sisters
will rise up in
rebellion

Premium Member Mother Nature Reconsiders

Mother Nature gazed happily on her brood,
until one of them spoiled her mood.
Her smartest monkey was on the take -
"Could it be that I made a mistake?"

Premium Member An Amoeba's Song

A brave sailor who sails the high sea
will aim knowing his aft from his lee,
but Brownian motion,
that fabulous notion,
works well for an amoeba like me.

Premium Member Irish Knave

There once was a crude Irish knave
Who hid deep within Fingal’s cave.
He felt it safe there to flee,
Thinking “naught could get to me”
Until swept away by a wave.

Evicted

Mike Mokes was a devoted couch potato.
It started only months out of the cradle.
He had found his groove
And refused to move.
'Til his house was hit by a tornado.

What Would You Answer

The couple knew nature alright
When asked what sounds brought them delight
They thought of the things
That gave their heart wings
And said sound of springs late at night

Premium Member Lusting for Honey

A bee buzzed with love, pure and sunny,
For clover, its sweet, golden honey.
It danced in the breeze,
With remarkable ease,
Declaring, "For you, I'd spend all my money!"

The bracken locked her shoot to the daffodils in the

So blue! So blue!

Premium Member Each Little Thing

I'm grateful for Mother Nature's gift,
each little thing that gives my heart a lift -
a blade of grass, a pumpkin seed.
But does She really think I need
a cockroach and a centipede?

   Nothing to say
      but that’s ok
   Watching too much

   Time to step outdoors
      get in tune with nature

      of my state legislature

Premium Member One Side of the Story

Adored by all the plants and trees,
but forsaken by his wife,
he loved the sound of a gentle breeze,
and gave the grasses life.
When she said, "time to mow the lawn",
he knew which side that he was on.

Stupid smile, crocodile
See you later, Mater-Pater
After while, stinking pile.

Trees Like Friends

Trees like friends are always around

They allow me to nestle beneath their shade

When it seems like good friends can never be found

I counted twenty-something tree friends I’ve already made!

Bats

When it isn't asleep it will be
Upside down from the branch of a tree
By it's instinct it knows
To keep eyes and mouth closed
Every time it needs to have a pee.

Smug, tricksey brownie
lies beyond that sunken log
blending in with the sleek mud.
She smirks when my fly snags

Premium Member Breezes and Sneezes

Freedom flings out the summer breezes
In a park where allergens make sneezes.

Men gather to toss their plastic frisbees,
Taking off from work for sick day freebies.
