A Man From Switzerland

Who Lived a life of glitz and glam
He never thought

Applies her makeup
Grabs that glam getup
May put on odd airs
Acts as if she cares
Giggles to lowbrows
Wiggles with highbrows
Goes downtown dancing
Dips downright dazzling
So no big to-do
For this ingenue...

Fun
I glance behind me,
I look left, then right.
No-one must see me.
It wouldn’t be right.

I am a gran,old,
But young.
With lots of pep
And vigour
To have some fun.

I glam up
With make up
And try on
The high heels.
 I dance round the house
to see how it feels....

Glam Dolls
your beauty is a thing which may not launch a thousand ships as for Helen of Troy but your glamour would stir a million hearts or close to that great a sum so think I but beware oh wondrous creature sublime what media makes it breaks in no time

Mirror Mirror
Face to face
no filtered glam
I age with grace
No fake instagram

My imperfect skin
Grey hair peeking through
Eyebrows now thin
and my eye lashes too

Wrinkled smile
Eye lids fold and sag
Changing profile
from the youth i once had

The course of nature
makes us recall
how did we nurture?
Mirror Mirror tells all!

Listen to poem:
Little sisters
enthralled
in a world
of fairy tale
making sense
of the universe
role playing
in
teeny
high heels
and glam clothes
in a big pink castle

One learns to run the show
and grows up to be a director
while the other stays
caught up in the fantasy
of her Barbie and Ken reality

Premium Member The Longer That I'M Married
The Longer that I'm Married
By Franklin Price
10/6/2015

The longer that I'm married
The more in love I am
The games and posing gone
The glitter and the glam

Retired now the two of us
Together every day
Sharing all the things we do
The daily work and play

Free to be the ones we are
Especially a friend
Glad I took the vows I did
I know I'll keep them to the end...

Paris Hilton
If Paris Hilton wrote poetry
her poems would be smart, not dumb
They would not skim the surface
of her glam life
recount her escapades
but dig deep into her isolation
They would employ complex ideas
sophisticated diction
unusual images
She could easily be Mrs Dalloway
beyond her socialite persona
or Emma, with that dignified gaze
There's depth in those blue eyes
gleaming under the flashbulbs...

Me
A free spirit
I try to stay grounded.
Spontaneous
But well-rounded.

Ever searching
But know who I am.
Never simple
For I love the glam.

Long, brown
Hair and eyes.
Winter is my
Favorite time.

Unlucky in love
But lucky in life.
Happy where I am
Most of the time.

Wanderer of cities
Have lived all around.
Who knows where I’ll land
Next time around.

A poet at heart
If my poems are bad I don’t care.
It’s an outlet I seek
From somewhere in deep....

Poem Me
A Poet I am
This my verse
Lying in a mind cram
Set to write on clear page dis·perse
To the delight of composing poetry slam
The strings of words; that let me rehearse
The kind of verses that evoke a dash of poetic glam

A good poem must invade
Our soul and mind
Words will be words portrayed
To make those each lines intertwined
To em·bed in our ra·tion·ale mind grade
When finished, it gets our consideration defined
To worship it for all eternity made...

Future
Future
Trying to write about the future
Is almost impossible without the past
Intruding talking about yesteryear.
Perhaps the future is like a thousand
Mirror reflecting itself endlessly.
I know there will be wars it is our burden
The opposite coin of love.
There is no vista opening-up
A panorama of beauty, but there will
Be moments when the glam of war stills,
When sea and sky meet in an embrace
Of utter tranquillity, and for a second
We think life is worth living....

Getting all dolled up, even the plainest moth can become a butterfly.
Looks are made alluring when body, nails and hair
Are given glints of gorgeousness! One becomes candy for the eye!
More flash than inner substance, it’s all external flair.
Only inner beauty requires no assistance from a glam squad entourage.
Ultra-chic yet likely vain are those concerned all the time with fanfare.
Riches can buy glitz, but it’s merely a mirage....

JUST A DREAM.

I dream't I was a movie star
my name in sequined lights.
Bright shining glitter everywhere
at all the local sites.
I sang and danced and played a role
that made me look so glam.
Then I woke up to mothers shouts
of breakfast, bread and jam
and would I like a coffee or a cup
of Yorkshire tea?
That's all that was on offer
for my mum and me.
But one day I'll chase my dreams
and make them all come true.
Then when I'm rich and famous
I'll share them all with you....
