Renegade shadows

The beauteous lights do sparkle so
reflecting joy for my spirit to feel.

My home is decked in garnet and teal
as Christmas dazzle I welcome with zeal!

After buttercups came daisies,
exquisite floating garnet hibiscus,
iris, jasmine, kooky little marigolds,
nasturshums, orchids, petunias, roses,
sunflowers,trailing varicolored wisteria,
xerophites, and yellow zinnias.
plump red strawberries
the kind we knew last red dusk
when time inched by brusque
garnet stars flash on
scarlet leaves and cardinals
mars phenomenal
crimson dragonflies
when fruitful days are going
true colors showing

It instantly changed
the hue of the sky;
Beat red afternoon,
I was spellbound by
garnet colored Sun;
A maroon mist
hung in the air
creating smoke
swirling so dense
bathing you
in ruddy
fantasy;
A split
second
show.
I dream of Gamecock victories
On courts and fields and track
I follow the recruiting trail
In hopes of all-time back;
I sit in stands, both cold and warm
To watch Garnet and Black
And even when we fail to win
It’s never for spirit they lack.
Intentionally deceived by those that augmented dubiously.
An Innocence killed by lies that seemed real.
Now, what a heart should feel is controlled by strength of will.
Entombed down deep inside a garnet red does hide.
Tossed away, you lost, I'm afraid.
The burnt brown grass of August ending
Longs for the opulence of autumn
To adorn the stripped and thirsty trees
With garnet jewels and gowns of silken rain

Paper-thin, metallic blue deepening further, slicing down, across from bone to bone.
Garnet rivers, pooling into oceans, staining... Screams, screams fade “CALL AN
AMBU..l..a....” (gone). A single response, a tear, gliding down... swift, before fading to
black.
Crimson garnet; stone of blood;
it purifies, some say.
Perhaps it loves us way too much;
never taking time to play.
Stone of crimson life, it is;
the water’s wondrous friend.
It truly does know its biz;
also the Aquarians friend.
On autumn trees the garnet leaves amass
Predestined flocks of birds to there alight
Quiescent in stiff gusts of October
Rosaceous in the sun's reclusive rays
Silent butterflies pirouette to earth
