I am confined in four walls in summer afternoons.
I am desperate to go out but 
the encroaching heat halts me.
Now, I can understand,
 the wiggling and plight of an innocent bird ,
who wants to conquer the sky, 
but forced to an enclosure.

shut tight more and more
The knock is now harder, stronger

I will open and flood

Turning around in mighty circles
Lovely birds singing
Nice bells ringing
Beautiful butterflies swarming
Smiling sun warming

All of these pleasures
sour to my dying senses...

Old and dilapidating,
Its former years I still remember,
Happiness dwelt within its walls,
Joyful tunes emanated from its enclosure, 
A summer home,
A vacation abode,
Its walls glittered under the sun’s rays,
Abandoned and deserted,
It stands alone and grey,
No more pleasure to them,
They had gone and never came back,
It stands in a forlorn hope.

Proof that an indivisible portion of time exists,
Frozen in that time, unchanging,
Morphed into the metamorphic rock, forever,
Hacked, packed, moved,
masoned into walls of a ritualistic enclosure

I can drink on them for hours,
Look into their eyes,
Isolated, purified, distilled to 175° proof,
One expression, one thought, one pain,
...maybe that is why I can see them

I examine the walls of me...the entrance and exit of both chill and warmth through the inevitable cracking. The chipping and peeling – the drying-out between eternities.  My next domicile, I want all on one airy level – having found, fullness and height are less directions, and more the surrendering of enclosure....

No cars are in sight, no people walk
No cell phones jangle, no people talk

Atlanta’s winters usually gentle
Grass frozen from ice detrimental
Surrounded by this cold enclosure
Suffering from freezing exposure

Suddenly, my breath steams from chapped lips
Impacted by cold, the winter script
The car next door is coated with ice
States farther South begin to entice...
