Greeting the Sun - Aubade

A rising plate of molten gold,
upon my life you take a hold.
I'm waiting for the day's unfold
and all my stories, yet untold.

If You have only a hundred dollars
Doubling that isn't so much.
But if you give it to a Broker
You just bought half his lunch.

Honey Eyed

go back to
sleep.

The World
is
worse for
wear,

without
us

worrying
about it.

Crisp apple,

ripen
later.

Premium Member Dying Crane

do know
the dying crane
has it spoken in to
in to your brain
so what of the sticks
magic now
not covered in bricks
who said how

AUBADE

light through darkness spills
a verdant sylvan idyll-
night concedes the day

a fog blanket
hides the horizon-
 imagination is king

Up,up and away
weightless
in my mind's eye
mesmorized again!
Time for a change,
in the surreal
outside of time,
catching the drift..
outside of the box
feeling fine

Its Life

It comes and goes
harder in this life,
Why is there nothing
even full of us?
It is the rull now,
the world is in the philosophy.
Do not think that you adopt
It in this life.

This sweet enclosure holds me tight as key its called my heart, a chamber locked for thee the love you gave I now do crave you once lived here, but now you're free

The Tree and I

a stirring
before words
early light
through window
greenness
first without
form
stillness
of a branch
the moment
the tree and I
are one

There’s a day sun and a night sun.
The day sun rises,
the night sun sets,
black circle descending into the depths
of a ceramic sky,
so my brain can say to sleep,
“For now, goodbye.”

You Are To Me

you are to me
what yesterday was to today
before tomorrow has a name

you move through me
without touching
being without speaking
as silence is to song
in words sung
from the one
who makes me sing

Friendship

first ray of sunshine
dreams broken yet they linger
new day has begun

elusive
   thick mists
evaporate
succumb
to the
early
sun-
  dew
    drops
      dry
one
by
one:
      sleep
  disappears
yesterday 's
promise
is
here..
      have
       no
       fear
or
tear

Each Day

each day
I pass among you
a specter
blending into shadow and shade
never meeting or speaking

yet we are
one in same
touching earth
as we circle
under the glow
of the golden sphere
in circuit about its orb

Passionate One

Passionate One
by Michael R. Burch

for Beth

Love of my life,
light of my morning,
arise brightly dawning,
for you are my sun.

Give me of heaven
both manna and leaven,
desirous Presence,
Passionate One.

Premium Member Murder On the Highway

a lone car on a highway at 5am
its headlight beams knife the dark
no exit wounds
just a flash of steely light pushing
deeper and deeper into the tarred body

the night bleeds slow
pales from the loss of black blood

Affordability of Dreams

“What is your name?”
“Give me a name. I have no name.”
“ I will name you as affection.”
What is left behind
What is unquenchable.
What is the truth.

And so speak to me rich man.
Let us talk; of the
Affordability of dreams.

Morning Template

Dew dripping
Dim light
Birds chirping
Restful night

Dark streaming
Cool quiet
Plants growing
Eyes bright

Wet grass
Thoughtful moments
Sunlight brass
Symbolic omens

Sky of glass
Petals open
Earth laughs
