Premium Member Easterly

Jesus, itinerant peacenik,
Wandering socialist hipster,
Of whom 'tis said, he healed the sick,
Betrayed by a right-wing tipster.

Wind, a Rondelet

We’ve called it names –
Sirocco, Easterly, Chinook.
We’ve called it names
to match its devastating games.
Del Rio! how the tent-frame shook
as, twirled on a Tornado’s hook,
we called its names.

Premium Member Golden Ginko

The Ginko's golden leaves rustle
Tickled by easterly bustle
Flounce upon the straight limbs
So like a flirty lady dressed
In her long golden gown her best
Permanence or fun her whims

Angry Conifers

Trees in the avenue
have a weird sense
of humor
Long roots cracking up
finely laid cobble stone
pavement
Slightly bent easterly
give pain in the lower
trunk
The younger trees
bleat about older trees
taking space
Older trees show
distain of needy trees
no dignity
Trees are silent
lack imparting skills
shake leaves

Premium Member Come

Now the golden rods blossom
And summer's birds have flown
There is a tinge 'pon leaves
"Come", before all warmth has gone

Here at the front door with a tap
Down where the golden rods sway
The easterly winds whisk gently
'Cause, "Come" he thought he heard me say

Well, now he sees a smile appear
A twinkle lights my green eyes
As he whispers, " I thought you said, come!"
And so come did I

Premium Member Purple Horizon Proud

The sun rose bright red not a dark cloud in sight
Few whispy cotton clouds spread around blue sky
Redtail Hawk in sky left nest for morning flight
On those cold air currents he did swiftly fly

Door was opened by east north easterly wind
Letting out illness, death, want_then in comes health
The sun set covered in dense clouds_cold its shroud
Will it rise in morn purple horizon proud

.

Down where wild violets dance
         To easterly breezes
And purple Irises erect, stiff, and chilled

See
   The dog walker shivers
                Wishing for an added layer
To top the corduroy pants still worn
                                      Even though spring green
                                                                   Is everywhere.

Green Lizard's Afternoon

canopies flutter,
bamboo grove sways,
fronds of coconut palms wave,
sunlight falls obliquely upon me
on the trail that winds and tapers
through a dense undergrowth,
to a clearing yonder, I seek
my gurgling, gleeful creek!

easterly breeze sings,
coaxes the leaves overhead
to hum like a strange strumming
of a dozen bass guitars;
a tiny blur darts upward
and whirls behind a branch,
there it blinks down at me
--that green lizard I see!

Premium Member Fat Fingers

Fat fingers stuffed into white gloves

Blown by the nor easterly wind

Pine limbs get heavy under winter's icy blow

Some can't stand so tall anymore and even some do fall

Weeping Willow's tears are frozen as her limb sway with the breeze

She is now wishing that she had some glove like leaves

Winter is releasing a terrible blow of ice and cold

Chilling all the birds and bees

How they long for Spring's sweet breath

To give sweet relief__

A Dead Man's Wish

When i am yet of this world
understand me as i ought to be
believe in me as i should be,
and when i become of the afterlife,
bury me in satin my friend,
do not burn me....from your thoughts,
as i yet wish to live from the underground,
as this is all i would have lived for.
And if you do burn me,
let my ashes fly with the easterly winds,
so that i may yet live again,
wander aimlessly over the sands of grain...
and feel the scents of homely joy,
like almighty's beloved toy.

rolling, shaking my heart in red
out of the blue you're soaked and fed
loving hearts that feed on rails
leaping souls that heed, not wails
eaves of heart-shaped leaves overflowing
reign of adoration outlying
couches or bench seats of hearts that drift
over your body levitate, not sift
a heart rolling over like wave
sauntering caterpillar so brave
tis immortal soul that roar and dwell
easterly winds will blow and tell
rollercoaster of hearts made in heaven, not hell

Premium Member Halfway to Heaven

We're halfway between the Earth and the Moon
Riding the sky in a hot air balloon
All through the day and well into the night
Me and my gal on a romantic flight

Floating aloft on an Easterly breeze
A vantage point over deep salty seas
The two of us engulfed in such pleasure
An experience beyond all measure

On this voyage is well worth defending
But sadly now it's time we're descending
So down through the clouds with nary a sound
The tale we can tell when we hit the ground
