Bike Ride

Bike ride,
air through my hair,
sunshine dousing my skin.
Dirt and splashed mud cover wheels.
Sweat drips
heat rises, thigh to palm to cheek.
Music comes from nature,
leaf and rock crunch
below tire.

Beyond the Flames

You can burn a book,
but never burn its truth
The flames sear the meaning,
tattooed at the root

Dousing this sacrilege,
my felony went untried
Escaping with the Muse in tow
—a fugitive decried

early spring rain

       pelts a cherry tree...

           dousing young blossoms

colored rainbow...

       sparks petals' hues

          with fragrant mist

Sunlight Moonlight

Sunlight dazzling, blinding quenching, dousing, drenching the sun's rays, a moonlight flower walking, playing, breathing illuminated, moonlit Moonlight

On the seventh ray
Of the fourteenth sun
Death hath come twofold
Arose a Titan in this age
Amidst this nimbus looms darkness
Betwixt the ash and sage

Approach cyclical ritual
Dousing wings in feral flames
Latent gravidity does surmise
For upon my resurrection
Eos I shall rise

Thunderbolt

With the mystical whiff
Dousing the air
he beckons hurriedly
Enticing the day
into the night
standing tall
he struts into the deed
defying every lurking laws
rummaging cloak and dagger
defiling the hallowed hollows
thus, infuriating the sitting gods

Premium Member Dripping Lyrics

From the distance
Emerged the wailing call
Banging the konga
Sending life
 to each Echoing sounds
Craving for expression
Setting free the immortal tales
With a rhyming tone
It came out pouring
Dripping and dousing every reclusive minds
With satiating lyric
Satisfying their longing souls

When Morning Comes

Chill in the morning
As the sun glimmer softly
After a mountain

Cool breeze whispers hushed
Aroma sizzles from cup
Of roasted fine beans

Dew trickles from top
Dousing planks spewing earth scent
Thumping, thumping feet

Birds seamed melody
Waking colors of nature
Thought, silence whispered

Premium Member July's Sticky Air

I fled the kiln
of the house
where ceramic floors
bake like focaccia bread.
My haven is a bench
in the shade of an oak,
praying for a breeze.
A bevy of bees hover
over blushing jasmine
and scarlet lilies,
dousing me with honey
in July's sticky air
as my finger
culls a drowned earwig
from my glass of iced tea.

Behind a Vegan Moon

No one likes dead lettuce
It must be crisp and cool
And dousing wounds with vinegar
Is certainly not cruel!

For Vegans can not see
Why lettuce choose to be
On a different frequency
Than Donald Trump might be

A salad will pass away
Shivering with cold today
Disgusted Vegans will say,
"I never heard lettuce pray"

Returning Home

After dispossession,
collecting the dolls-
dusting them off.

Who was watching
you, dousing yourself
to give a political statement ?

Cutting the leaves
of grass, I open
the book of Walt Whitman.

This was a targeted
killing. I will not join
the funeral procession.

A mistaken lull.
One day I will-
shoot endlessly.

You'Re For Dinner!

Starting the BBQ pit with your PICTURES

SLAPPING you on a hot grill

Adding some salt to your WOUNDS

Pouring pepper on to make you CRY

Cutting you open to see if you BLEED still

STABBING you to throw you to the dog

Dousing the FLAME I made

I just needed a moment to vent. His words of revenge got to me there for a
second. Awwwww...I feel better now!

Emotions Into Ashes

I kissed the darkness a farewell in spite
Was always there when I bed goodnight
Comfort of warmth, now tenderly out of sight
My sorrows shredded before dawn’s light.

To lose the weight of harboring fears that barricade
It’s time now to defuse and quell that fiery brigade
allowing my tears to flow like a cascade
dousing the emotional fire into embers till they fade

ERUPTION OF ANGER
Relationships explode in sudden seismic rupture, from volcano of anger magma of mind erupts fire, burns the shattered heart in lava of ember disdain. If touch of remorse makes the upheaval quieter, dousing the flare of fire with the torrents of tear, the scorched soul will rise from the ashes again.

Premium Member Sanguine Skies

Sol's chariot slowly sinks, setting sanguine skies afire while an ebony darkness descends, dousing scarlet flames. And shadowy silhouettes swiftly shape shift...mimicking monovalent monsters, bolstering bugaboo beliefs, as a maroon moon maneuvers amidst a sea of stars. Frozen

After dousing the bride to a nice flame,
in between the howls
there were songs.

On mud path the hoofprints
came out prominently. On bullock carts
they had come for a sit in,

to resist, rebel or kill.
All day the heat, dust & winds
blurred the vision.

Hills between us
to feed the hate.
It is nothing like the good old earth.

The nascent bleed.
Time of non-movement.
Shadows of snow-peaks.

Happy New Year

for my dames still friends
in spite of dousing the flames
i hope our new year's promise
refuses to fade
no resolutions, just love to carry us on
never worrying where we're at till it's all gone

so when the ball drops prompt
and heads turn to lock gaze
time will go slow mo, freeze-framing the last page
i'll try to write a new chapter remembering your name
players take to the field, it's time for the game

They'Ve Stolen Your Song

What can it mean to a new generation,
  when lessons in history
     —fail to inspire

What can it mean to a new generation,
  when watered down values
     —keep dousing the fire

What can it mean to a new generation,
  as men hunt each other
     —their food sources gone

What can it mean to a new generation,
  when the lyrics are distant
     —and they’ve stolen your song

Water Is

A dripping, drizzling, falling drop,
Which hits the ground with a bouncing plop.

A rolling, flowing, surging force,
Which carves the land and runs its course.

A cooling, soothing, refreshing thing,
Which calms the soul and makes it sing.

A soaking, drenching, dousing substance,
Which engulfs the world's continents.

A sustaining, quenching, natural element,
Which fosters life and makes it relevent.

In the tree sits the blackest of all cats Evil companion of the dark lady Dousing fear, the cat makes animals scat He hisses as she comes quite silently Full of powers from this Halloween tree The owl hoots above them both, frightfully The witch laughs, encouraged quite blissfully She lights the fire underneath the cauldron All parts are there, now must boil anxiously Power for her soul that was the bargain

Premium Member The Lamentations of Fate

Shadowy silhouettes and fragmented memories; ebony outlines inked by years of disappointment veil hope's complicity in using trivial deeds like colored crayons, to show God created those lines. Faith countered my enthusiasm for life with self-doubt, controlling my thoughts and dousing any sparks of hope. All that awaits me beyond death is oblivion, religion can't silence the lamentations of fate. (Verse) 6/27/2018

Sin and Prayer

I am pulling out from the committed
sin, cadaver walking,
digging the gold from the pit.

Footwears of dead men were
heaped into a pile when
god was praying.

Was it a perceived tragedy
of a man drawing doodles
to offset the sunset ?

You were alone, dousing
the fire and shaping the clay. The
hamlet was less inclined to intercede.

Your flesh slips from my hands
for a rebirth. I was flying a kite.
I was dead before you were born again.

Keep Your Light Aglow

J-ust keep your light aglow,

Y-es, keep your light aglow,
L-etting it get much brighter;
Y-our lamp needs the fuel,
N-ot the cold dousing water.

C-hill of the night is over,
E-vening shadows are gone;
R-ise of the sun has started,
E-ndorsing the face of dawn.
Z-enith up high awaits not the somber sorrow;
O-ctober nineteenth day, keep your light aglow.
