Bog

There was an old man who lived in a bog
And he owned a hog
Each time the hog farted
The old man darted
right out of the back door.

Venus

Your darted arrow of Venus impales
Our demise persists through our veins
The echo in my heart is hopeless
What is love when death skims the surface?

Gassy Santa Near Atlanta

Stuck with gas, no antacid had Santa
as he flew Christmas Eve near Atlanta.
When Santa Claus farted,
the reindeer all darted.
And poor Santa cried out, "Oh, Mylanta!”

Night Silence

In the stillness of the cloudless night
One heart is pounded without mercy
An invisible arrow darted with a light
Enrapturing senses without clemency

My Gram

She kicked the doctor, she kicked the nurse
She hit them both with her designer purse.
She ran from the orderly, and she was fast.
I said "Hi Grams!" as she darted on past.
She punched my arm but kept on running.
Last I saw her she was in the buff, sunning.

Night's Sleeve

I was trapped in a fast-food drive thru.
From inside the sleeve of night.
A man with crow eyes violated my blind spot...
Vomited something incoherent straight into my soul.
He then darted toward the car behind me...
Then slithered back into night's sleeve-

Dream

I awoke to screaming
while my bedmate slept,
telepathic scheming

from the dark world
where evil crept.
My body curled

my mind darted
and skin leapt.
Reality faded; illusion started.

I awoke to screaming,
where evil crept.
Reality faded; illusion started.

Church Romantics Watch Closely

There is Christmas mistletoe he thought, not daring to look her way.
His object of affection gave a shy glance that quietly darted away.
The romantics in the congregation held their breath as they watched.
Not this year I guess said grandpa, scratching an itch in his crotch.

Change Rides Bareback

My hopes were high
For a future that held
Change riding in fast
On wild horses
Bareback and free
On a sunny morning
I saw my life being
Born again
It’s mother was a young
Possibility
Brimming with expectation
I watched as labor pains
Became growing pains
And my life darted
Steadily towards the horizon

Scared So

Like a frightened mouse, away he darted,
but he's soon back to where he first started;

and furtively he glances back in fear,
         distant, lengthening shadows drawing near;

his confidence torn to shreds and tatters,
only being scared now crucially matters!

My Cute Wife

My cute wife was a giant toad in real life
During birth she changed her bawdy phenotype
                                               She croaked all day
                                               Balked my bouquet
And darted a sly glance at Macauliffe.

By the Edge of a Pond

By the edge of a pond, in a trance I stood
   Wind's soft breath blew ripples
      in a lily pad neighborhood

Sunbeams darted in and out of each swirl
   Glistening, twinkling
to a silent rhythm they twirled

When a small voice beckoned
   Its humble suggestion
      'Paint me'

Lizard With Suntan

Big fellow
your tan is so dark
I thought you were
a mouse!

Out of the corner
of my eye
you darted
into the bushes
so fast
your form
was just a dart
from Cupid's arrow
that missed my heart.

I'm sorry I scare you so
I guess we could
never be
lovers.

Gentle Jimmy Drag Racer Darted In and Out of Danger-

Little Jimmy was a eight-teen-year-old wild teenager
He had a souped-up Dodge Dart and ate day old bagels
At the dark in the park he would race his Dodge Dart
Car went so fast it's sputtered sounds of flagellants-fart
Baroom-zoom-zooms out here drag racing in out of danger

A Fox Crossed My Path

A fox crossed my path in the woods today
Trotting briskly on a leafy pathway
Of a sudden he jammed on his hind brakes
Sniffed air redolent of felled trees and clear lakes

I imagine he determined I wasn't a threat
The fox darted off; I broke out in a sweat...
Put my trusty wheelchair in gear in reverse
Rolled my way home, composing this verse

One Hummingbird

I mixed some sugar water,
Hoping there would be a visit.
One hummingbird obliged, but oh,
That viewing was exquisite.

He darted to the feeder,
Little winglets all a’blur
And he sipped to his contentment
(Or it maybe should be her).

I grabbed my iPhone camera,
Thinking I could catch that sight,
But just one hummingbird came by
And still, that is all right.

Shadows of Winter

was sitting out back
...in the screened area...
on the deck

...watching the sun set...
camera at hand
...as insects swarmed...

dragon flies hovered
...darted and feasted...
then rested on bushes

...wings glistening...
in the setting sun light
...shining as diamonds...

of some past winters ice
...a treasure of nature...
making photos so nice

We Share One Apple and Innumerable Dreams

At some point you and I became we,
my hopes became yours to share.
When did I realize we would become one?
Was it that spring, when the trees were pink with apple
blossoms and songbirds darted among the reeds and
we walked by the river speaking innumerable
sentences and you held my hand and told me your dreams?

The Camera's Eye

One blinding light will freeze the frame unraveling time, rewinding… Stopped in it’s tracks, this moment's flight swift wings of the clock, are lying Each moment that ticks reminding how speed of light, has darted… The future and past aligning in one flashblub glimpse, now parted

The Rain and Vanished Fishes

The rain came down,
The pond overflowed through village paths.
The fishes, reared with patient care,
Swamed to freedom.

They darted through rills and drains,
Caught in casting nets,
Some speared in the yards,
Where rushing streams swept by.

The farmer, with hurried stride
Through drains and rills,
Tried to catch fish,
Casting his gaze with weary aim,
Pondering where the fishes gone.

Welcome To Bruno's Mens' Wear

Welcome to Bruno’s Mens’ Wear

By Elton Camp

The clerk in the mens’ clothing store
Saw one who hadn’t been there before

He was striding along extremely fast
As the clerk spoke, he went on past

The man darted into the dressing room
And slammed the door with a boom

For security the clerk started to call
When the customer let our a bawl

Horrid words he then came to hear
“There’s no toilet paper in here!”

I wondered through the woods

I wandered through the woodlands green
And heard the birdsong fill the air
I saw the little streams serene
With speckled trout that darted there

I felt the breeze upon my face
And smelled the fragrance of the flowers
I marveled at the natural grace
And wished to linger for some hours

But then I heard a distant bell
That called me back to toil and strife.
I bade the woodlands a farewell.
And turned to face the road of life.

Hovering

A helicopter hovered
In the east side New York sky.
It looked just like the hummingbirds
I spot in mid-July.

Its headlight darted left and right,
Like it was on a quest.
I wondered if the search was real,
Or was it just a test?

No boats were in the river
Over which the copter hovered;
That made me think that there was nothing
There to be discovered.

Some minutes passed and then it slowly
Chop-chop-chopped away.
Another New York mystery
To supplement my day.
