A Fox Crossed My Path

A fox crossed my path in the woods today
  Trotting briskly on a leafy pathway
Of a sudden he jammed on his hind brakes
  Sniffed air redolent of felled trees and clear lakes

I imagine he determined I wasn't a threat
  The fox darted off; I broke out in a sweat...
Put my trusty wheelchair in gear in reverse
  Rolled my way home, composing this verse

If I fly to Israel to visit my son over there, I may have to bite the bullet and use one occasionally, however. I can't walk over a mile without gettin' the heeby-jeebies (whatever they are) anymore. lol. Thanks for the laughter... :) gw
