Circle of Life, My Foot!

Grumbling, the leaf falls,
Upon the carpeted grounds.
Warm orange and red--
Enriching earths, feeding roots.
Winter's a mushy affair.

Quietude

Small songs at bedtime,
a chorus of night music
aloft from carpeted moss

Crickets are hidden
with a cadence and rhythm
soften the weariest night

Dancing Before The Fireplace

Dancing away before the brightly burning gas fireplace.
Feeling the warmth of the flames through the glass upon my face.
Prancing about on this open-concept basement's beige carpeted floor.

snooty cat queen

the persnickety, snooty, snotty cat queen put on airs
as if there were not a ridiculous succulent on her head
I watched her climb those red-carpeted prissy throne stairs
and thought she must be low class, common, and pretty lowbred.

Good Night

The spherical fire
tucks itself to bed
burning out slowly
as it sinks into the sea

Now waking
the opaque face
takes his place
in the black carpeted
sky that embeds
the heavens diamonds

The hour of dreams
is upon us...

Stiletto Blues

She pauses, slender figure poised on
slenderer heels,

five inches of coquetry
ready to duet with
fifty feet of parquetry,

play a wicked staccato on
dinner-jacketed libidos.

Then she pushes open the double door
to find a newly carpeted floor.

Along Our Path

Along our path, I've scattered seeds around,
so when the songs of meadowlarks resound,
sweet violets will soon spring from the ground.

As if inside a dream, we'll softly tread
along that path now blossom-carpeted
and make sweet love on a violet bed.

Flophouse

Portraits of hedgehogs on his grimy tiled walls
Pete did for good taste what heat does for snow balls

Though a weird kind of charm lay on his carpeted floor
Not hedgehogs, but bedbugs as Pete flopped kissed him like whores

Love In Practice:

Love is curling up against your humming form
In the carpeted corner of a carefully soundproofed room
The soaring notes are meant for only these two hearts
These paneled walls built to hold sensation close
For what is music but the intimate caress
Of gentle harmony?

Uncle Tree

A shrimp pond ahead. Then a carpeted road.
By the roadside mango-jamun-sal
and coconut trees in line

All these trees, a long time ago, our old grandpa planted
He talks to trees as his offspring. 'Father,' softly they call him.
'Uncle,' so I call them whenever I see a chance.

Stairway To the Morning

We made the stairs our place

    Painted the walls

    With memories of last night

    And planted

    Bottoms onto the carpeted steps

We stretched our arms across the banister

    To measure

    How quickly the shadows shrink

As the bags under our eyes creased

    Into tiny smiles

A Contemplation Upon Weeds

Dewdrops kiss my skin
A silver coat over my shoulders, green
There's magic in every morning.
In the atmosphere wafts perfumes of earths daughters
They sway their hips,
they nod their heads
petals fall at my feet.
The floor is carpeted with beautiful hues
red, white and purple too
The birds come piping morning's tune.

Mental Residency

Scouring cerebral rooms.
Lost in the hallways of feeling.
Locked in emotional tombs.
Each key now revealing..
A door behind a door.
A mansion in my mind.
Apathetic drive carpeted floor.
Blue prints undefined.
Eclectic paintings hang.
Crooked on walls of peeling plaster.
Then my door bell rang.
Welcome to my mental disaster.

A Word That Sits On Your Lips

you can find it under the bark of age old trees it lives in the skeletons of fallen leaves you can hear it bounce off a carpeted climb concrete laden steel it’s on your mind on the tip of your tongue a word that sits on your lips a thought screams below your vocal chords pointless so never spoken "if only i had" "what if" "if"

Copper Leaves

Layer upon layer of copper leaves,

Lay here, and all around.

As the birch tree lost it's canopy,

And carpeted the ground.

Beneath my feet, some ankle deep

Some falling through the air.

Autumn's gusts gathered strength,

And spread them, everywhere.

I Dreamed a Dream

I dreamed a dream
Of a flowing stream,
Where things got wet
In a pristine jet,

Near to that stream
The flowers did gleam,
They stole the show
With their coloured glow,

Came there the birds
Chirruping sweet words,
Then flew across
The carpeted moss,

I sat down there
To enjoy and stare,
Then screamed a scream
For 'twas just a dream.

You and Me

Here is nothing except you and me
and a charming nature
beautifully decorated with hills and lakes
vales are carpeted with fine green grasses

So quick
the happy hours pass away
from the so little life
Many things remaining to say yet
and to do

So when you think of me
then I think of you
Thus thinkings of each other
make some poems of love
make the earth a perfect heaven

California's Cool Nights

NICE TO WEAR FLANNEL JAMMIE'S AGAIN
HAVE THE HEATER ON, FEELS SO GOOD.
AND YES...A MUG OF HOT CHOCOLATE, TOO.
A MOTHER CALICO AND HER BABY KITTEN...
SNUGGLE OUTSIDE, ON MY CARPETED DECK.
UNDER A BLANKET OF STARS, I DO REST
ALL THE STARS OF DAVID,UPON IT~
READINGS FROM THE TORAH EACH NIGHT.
WATCHING THE MOON TAKE FLIGHT
THIS BLESSED, LATE SUMMER NIGHT.

Tdb

Books of rhyming
Sat on the floor
We were never to be disturbed
A child's mind
Not yet able to read
Needs a helper
in times of need
we sat on that
old blue rocking chair
gritty and old
he would read to me
in times of despair
his old hiking boots
put on the floor
Carol King in the air
Dr. Seuss in my head
As stories came to life
in that poor lighted room
and ugly carpeted floors
a love for reading was born

The Colour of Life

The colour of life
Nature's healing remedy
Administered through the eyes
Flows through the nerves
To heal the mind,
To bring bring forth gratitude,
And joy and thanksgiving.

Yes, green is good.
See, how the Great Designer
The skillful Creator God
Purposely knitted it,
On leaves tiny and huge,
Carpeted and canopied the forests.
Painted the valleys
Crafted the hills
With color of life.

Love it green.
Keep it green.

The Beauty of Autumn

Autumn leaves fall,
Like parachutes,
God's perfection,
Empty branches of yesterday,
The trees tall and vacant,
The earth carpeted ,
With the rainbow foliage,
The sun shines through,
Above the evergreens,
A blue jay can be seen,
The cardinal nearby,
Papal red in color,
Just to be there,
The cool fresh breeze,
Touches your shoulder,
A walk amongst,
God's paradise,
To return home,
Warm and safe.
