To Always Return
For me,
one time is not enough
Canyons widen
neath mountain bluffs

For me,
each time lay unforeseen
Magic transient
—a richer dream

my bluffs are golden
winter creeps near

Ink's Wickedness
Bloodthirstiness of ink's wickedness,
ruthlessly dripped upon parchment
blistering an already screeching sun,
no footprints apparently left in sand as
oceans's bluffs turned oases to flatland,
there was no urgency for brutal honesty
aside factually, it unquestionably delivers...

Sitting On the Bluffs
Sitting on the bluffs
Above the ocean waves,
My hair blowing around my face,
With my four legged friend
Pressed close for warmth.
We watch the sun set,
Glowing red upon the horizon,
My world turned upside down.
Grasping a moment of peace
To briefly forget,
As I sip my wine....

Cliff Notes
The mountains of the mind
are not high,
peaks that raise no taller
than the spike of a moment,

and yet,

to climb them can be treacherous,
thoughts can be avalanches.

Better to just watch,
those bluffs, buttes, and cliffs
as if on an oscilloscope,
let them pass you by
as meaningless blips....

Wile E. Coyote
would wear Acme “floatie”
wings so he could swoop from mountain bluffs,
but always crashed below to silent puffs.

The Road Runner,
like a tail gunner,
would down Wile E. into the deep
valley floor with his trademark “meep meep!”

The Pelicans
When I woke up last night,
anxious with worries,
I tried to remember the pelicans:

fifty white birds
snowed on a gravel bar
in the lake.

The trees on the bluffs were golden,
and the pelicans sat
under inky November sky,
preened with their great beaks
to prepare for the journey,
oblivious of our presence.

And the miracle
soothed my heart.

Limestone Bluffs
The stones could be prehistoric fertility figures,
they persist, they redefine the seen.
Water-pliant, submissive,
they are turned on the wind’s millwheels.

Some remind me of farm girls
broad buttocks, love handles,
rolling hips. Not like the bony walkers
that climb up here.

I sit leaning against an ample mound -
feel the womanish stone
shaping its image around me....

Scent spills sift
White wine whiff

Sound sleep saves
Big blooms brave

Rest ripe roar
Sleek sounds soar

Set sure style
Mist moves miles

Race ripe rest
Feel fear fest

Crude crisp creed
Bright blood bleeds

Buzz breaks boom
Gripe gloats gloom

Note nerves nice
Sprint sour spice

Sense strange stuff
Blind boast bluffs

Its OK to be a
Little crazy sometimes
Be a little zany
And mad

At times in moderate
Doses.
To the power of
Recognisable bluffs.

We don't want to cause
The slip of the grip.
Its all Right
Just maintain. Your
Crazy? With your cool.

If it so happens that any
Famous person insists you
Are crazy. Addressing you
By your full name
In public VENUE.

well now. You are
FAMOUS too.
 Aren't you?...

Premium Member In the Hazy Light
Variegated streaks
criss-crossing,
soothing lavender
then fiery maroon,
with belts of amber
in between.

Slate blue bluffs
catch the sun before it lands,
dipping into the rippling orange
of the mottled lake.

The pitch black pines are still,
passed the rusty mesh
of a rickety screen door.
Our eyes were fixed
up to the moment
your coppered profile
became shadow,
and I could see you no more
in the hazy light....

The Tests
Got up at seven,and nothing
to eat.
Tried to get ready,and beat
my feet.

A trip to Council Bluffs,
for two more tests.
Do I really need to tell
you,all the rest.

Just two hours,and it
was all done.
Off to the mall,to have
us some fun.

I went shopping,and
found some new shoes.
I needed some money,
to pay what was due.

I went to my husband,
and was off like a dove.
He gave me the money,
and said;your my love....

More of this, more of that
    Fifty dogs, a hundred cats
  Never satisfied, never enough
A card sharp, called million-dollar bluffs

  Porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis galore
    Never enough, needed far more

Resorts in Palm Springs and Montego Bay

  Trumped the tallest towers
Built a castle reached the sky
Clouds laughed, then raced to form

The ground gaped garishly, gored with ghastly gouges of glowing, gravelly gobs ...

Finally unfettered from a frigid firmament, flames flung fiery, flaring fingers
          ferociously forward ...

The blazing bastions bent on burning the backwood bluffs bare with bitter brutality ...

Unholy hoards of heated horror hailing the heavens with heinous, heckling howls of
          hellish hostility....

A cerulean heron
perches in cloisonne
among jade shoots
of a topaz tree
as shadows of platinum fish
undulate in silence
of teal waters.
The tableau of moonstone,
fulgid in azure sky,
hovers in citrine dusk
above pearl clouds
and indigo coastal bluffs.
Night's onyx falls quickly;
the food chain pauses
until sun's lambent carnelian
emerges above a pewter horizon,
when jeweled birds of prey feed
and the gemstone cycle continues....

Handcuffs For Chief Craig Who Snuffs
Handcuffs for Chief Craig who snuffs!
No longer seems one who bluffs,
Empty his third boxed up Snuff;
I could not help “An Enough!”
The act capturing as duff,
Performer to nostrils rough…

Pity had I for Craig’s nose
Brownish Powder hoped to close:
Bad Air spreads each time it blows,
East/West: wherever it goes…

Craig’s fights with snuff getting tough,
Off Craig should his thick skin slough;
Keep I shall for him voice gruff
But for a Chief not him cuff....

Spirit of Nature
Spirit of Nature

I walk along the rocky bluff
with the warm rising of the sun.
The mist builds and falls
above the vast expanse of the ocean,
surrounding the little island,
blanketing the shoreline with soft white mounds.

And in the next moment it disappears....
Only to creep up in front of me!
Silently climbing up the damp rocky slope,
like a mysterious spirit of nature,
tiny beads of water droplets surround me...
The sweat from the body of salt water below....

By the River
Where the great blue heron stands and waits
Patiently among the rustling reeds
As the morning fog lifts from the stream,
By the river I will sit and watch.

Where the swallows swiftly swoop and dart,
Skim the water surface in their flight,
As the turtles climb on sunny logs,
By the river I will walk and think.

Where the doe steps from the woods to drink,
Evening sends cool air from the hills
As the limestone bluffs throw longer shades,
By the river I will lie and dream....

Some con men blew smoke
Trusting it was adequate
Vulnerable and uncertain
We gambled from the same stack
For the beauty of your game

Men with no tells flat line their hearts
For a better chance in spades
Calling our bluffs, upping the ante
Some will fold, others will match
We have seen each others faces

Our cards presented on the table
Laden with truth, sobering
Round tables offered many suitors
I complement it, a ring of surprise
For your hand, your love, I am all in...
