The Appointments
Oh doctor my wife won’t you see
I think she is cheating on me
Said doctor to fuss
Of course I’ll discuss
She’ll be with me just after three...

Premium Member Who Did Your Nails
Trudy came to school wearing pink and orange nails.
Everyone asked who had done these for her.
We all made appointments.
Including me, and I do not let anyone paint my nails.
I just did not want to be left out....

Premium Member One Thanksgiving
Thanksging day had found me
'Rousing from my sleep
With a few appointments
And some dates to keep,
Some for that very day,
Some to keep in time,
Some with family,
Some with friends,
All in the heart called mine....

Premium Member FALLING
I watched them
Floating
Silent
On an idle wind
No flight plan
No destination
No appointments
Just a relaxed release
Of a season’s tensions
A whispered exhaled “ahhhh”
They did not look sad
Or weary
As they drifted
Into the mystery
Of winter.

With not a single hobby,
and precious few friends,
Time has too much time on its hands.

For its appointments it arrives early,
always much too early.

I wasn’t halfway through February,
when, on my doorstep,
who else appeared but May in a hurry?...

Lost In Wild Imaginations Or Vain Schemes of Some Anticipated Good
Some quiet time
no talking
no hurrying
no running
no appointments made for next milions of weeks
just sitting
taking pleasure in sitting
peace and quiet
maybe with ice tea or nice cup of hot coffee
looking at the sea
and some love...
These are the deepest ones....

Is Trump Presidency Just a Prank
Do rubles rain right into his bank?
Tells many lies, can Trump be frank?
Made appointments, but they stank.
His approval ratings again just sank.
Investigated, so gave Comey yank!
Most now think he’s a hopeless wank.

Only one
of my assets
qualifies
as glory crown.
Pampered hair
plumps my ego
and has drained my pockets dry.

Permanents,
dyes and rinses,
cuts and sets
salon shampoos,
never missed
hair appointments,
as if it matters at end..

Premium Member the sun was late this morning
The sun was late this morning
Or was I early
At any rate
I waited
Tapping my fingers
Impatiently.
The appointment
Requested I show up
20 minutes early
To register
My shadow.
The receptionist
Told me
“the sun is running
A bit behind schedule”
Please be patient.
My shadow grumbles
It hates these appointments.

Knocking on heavens door
I want to go to heaven,to knock on heavens door,to visit all my loved ones, that don’t live here anymore..We all should have a party, one big reunion in the sky,I want to hug them tightly, before I have to say goodbye..I wish there were appointments,I’d go visit everyday, then god could see how much I love them, and not take them all away...

Twenty Nine
Twenty-nine cavities
My dentist said,
Gleefully twenty-nine times
Twenty-nine novacaines
Fun as twenty-nine
Parking fines
Half as many root-canals
Half as many frightening dreams
Half as many muffled
Dental equiptment blocked screams

Twenty nine appointments
To dread twenty nine days
Twenty-nine times to stumble out,
In twenty-nine a dental haze...

New Year 2018 Birth of Me
Many things in my life to change
Only a year to get it all done
So much I have to work on
Completion meaning I've won
Appointments to attend
Interviews to be had
A new found sense of confidence
Makes some people really mad
Gonna make a grand entrance
Let everyone I know see
Never again will time be this good
2018 to be the birth of me!

The Parade of Duty
If you want to be inspired,
Spend half an hour sitting in the lobby,
Of the local veterans hospital,
Watch the parade of duty and sacrifice,
Coming and going to appointments.
Veterans young and old,
Many on crutches, or in wheelchairs, missing limbs.
One day I say a young vet with an old vet in tow.
They were both in wheelchairs.
To me, that lobby is a sacred place....

Clinic
I opened a workshop of living
it takes care of the city's sorrows,
makes you tear up traffic tickets,
miss appointments,
climb a tree and curse authority.
Just yesterday an old lady came.
She suffers from not knowing
how to be a girl anymore.
She's there,
smiling and sitting on the floor,
she has a cane in her lap
and in her rheumatic hands
a beautiful rag doll....

Big Bang Ponderings
If there was no time before the Big Bang
Was there nothing or something other ker-banged
There was no morning, afternoon or night
Before the Universe was put out to endless flight

Concepts that we find are so useful in our lives
Appointments and times schedules will not jive
But in the infinitesimal void of the universe
Who would really care for what it is worse.

CALL WORK

TELL THEM I JUST FEEL TOO GOOD

TO WASTE IT ON THEM

WAKE THE KIDS

WE’RE GOING OUT FOR BREAKFAST

CALL THE SCHOOL

TELL THEM DAD JUST DECLARED

A “MENTAL HEALTH DAY”

GET DRESSED

WE’RE GONNA GO PLAY

NO BACKPACKS

NO BRIEF CASES

NO TOOL BELTS

JUST US……

AND A DAY

APPROPRIATED

FOR THE MAKING

OF MEMORIES

This has the song you like, my baby said
She was right
It reminded me of singing loudly with my Mum
Walking by the railroad tracks
On the day with all the cares
And none of the cares
The moments after hospital appointments
Where we walked and explored
And sang loudly
About laying down our cares and woes
Marching on
Uplifted and carried along by music
Knowing to keep putting one foot
In front of the other...
