The Parade of Duty

If you want to be inspired, Spend half an hour sitting in the lobby, Of the local veterans hospital, Watch the parade of duty and sacrifice, Coming and going to appointments. Veterans young and old, Many on crutches, or in wheelchairs, missing limbs. One day I say a young vet with an old vet in tow. They were both in wheelchairs. To me, that lobby is a sacred place.

James, Soup member and Vietnam Veteran Dane Ann will be having surgery in a VA hospital December 9 in Gainesville. Knowing of your concern for the men and women who served our country, I hope you'll send some prayers her way. This was a great read for a Sunday morning. While there are times when I don't think the VA does enough to help their patrons, I'm glad there are at least some resources for them. Thanks for this inspiring write. Love, carolyn
