big puffy clouds
rarely seen; a Georgia high
soul returns to spacious place
Green Valley mountain
when it's red it’s time to drink
On a high; these puffy clouds

back in Georgia heat
green leaves love this Summer treat
sky eyes are dry; not a drop
Green Valley cacti
more than a drop of sunrise
in its tequila dry heat

I visit not move
to the Senora Desert
it creeps with dreadful shadows
Georgia has its own
familiar coyote, fox
so I’ll stay where I belong

dusty the old West
drunks, soiled doves, shootouts, Cowboys
you can still walk Tombstone streets
bawdy brothels lined
Collins Street back in the day
Georgia had its fill of sins

Premium Member Song of The Hot Lips No 12: AABB

And pollen to pollinate -- love now sells,
and mostly with this big kisser that tells
its real name is 'Hot Lips' just by looking.
Made Margaret Houlihan nicknaming
famous, played by Loretta Swift, actress,
on MASH, no longer on TV unless
seen on reruns. They grow in the jungles
of the two lower America's. Goals,
you're halfway there, don't you have a mouth, WELL!
Arrggh!, Learn the lingo, cross the border--Sall!
Mean senora ... Senora? Nah! Hombre.
Hombre? Si hombre, LIPS, ugly, hombre,
like you! They'll carry you across--you'll pass.
They'll pity you, or, think you're a bad a**!

In Old California 15

Now Dona Rose was sweating so and fanned,
then hearing name now mentioned she took heed
to any information she would need.

" Senora, Don Hernandez has invited me to have
dinner in your home tonight. It's one of life's
pleasures to be so included. I look forward to
a very entertaining evening."
" Senor Huerra, honor's mine. How could we not
invite so gallant a cavalier? Be it known, senor, that
there's always a place at our table for you. Margarita's
very happy to see you too. She keeps twisting my
sleeve to let her talk."
" Senorita, each of my eyes is jealous of the other
for the beauty it beholds. I didn't think it possible for
anyone to be so lovely. Time in Mexico has only been
kind to you."
"Thank you senor, but Mexico's not a good place
to be if one has to be in a convent."
"It's not hurt you, senorita. When you left you were
but a girl. Now you're a beautiful woman, a precious
flower more delicate than Amapola."

Mission Nuestra Senora De La Soledad

Place of solitude all peaceful.
A secluded mission restful.
Neophytes are clearly trustful.
Dedication!
Time spent praying makes one blissful
Meditation.

Premium Member California Dreaming

On the coast of Northern California
The salty air will tear the naked eye
Hiding tears that fall for my senora
From lovers holding hands a passing by
Spanish tunes are playing on the wi-fi
Recalling now a time when we were here
Friendship shared will have to last a lifetime
With passing days those times are treasured near
Remarkable how days can seem like years
When friends are parted by their hopes and dreams
This sand we walked together caught our tears
Now swimming in the oceans flowing stream
I hope they join together into one
And swim forever underneath the sun.

An original poem by Daniel Turner

Beautiful Things

Today I’ll go to the galleria,
To shop for "small" precious beautiful things
A ring, a necklace, and a tiara,
That will totally pull at my heartstrings.

I’ll meet a friend at the pizzeria.
Before that, I have to get that new dress.
Shoes and bag to match - ala Senora,
My look, surely my friend will be impressed.

On my way to buy my favorite things,
A resplendent flower cloaked me with awe,
The stranger’s sweet smile meant everything,
Heartwarming was the gaze the lovers threw,

Utterly wonderful delights! Me thinks.
They are just simple, but beautiful things!

I Lost My Green Card

The immigration is coming for me
I live in a two bedroom house with eight other families
We will be deported, this process includes a meal, so our stomachs will be full
I dream at night for beans, rice and burritos
I cook my burritos in fat, heavy lard
I check my pockets, now I'm worried, I think I lost my green card
I have gas and burps because of the food
I want to make bambinos, but the senora is not in the mood
She's not ready, she says I'm pushing too hard
Now she's mad, flushes my wallet down the toilet, there goes my green card
Now rice and beans will be my meals three times a day
The immigration is the predator and I'm the prey
I sneak through a hole in the fence
This shows the border patrol is incompetent
I am again caught and sent back across the border
I will miss the reruns of Law and Order
Sam Waterson can't win a case, what a retard
This all goes back to when I lost my green card
