He played the piano the way he did everything – incredibly well.
He’s a maestro, his mother told everyone who stopped by.
They did not doubt it, he was busy too, always composing.
Writing screenplays, creating operas and musicals.
When will he publish? Some of the noisier ones asked his mother.
That’s not important, she told them. That he is living with me is.
He lived with mama until her death, which delighted both of them.
His creations were genius, we discovered after his own crossing over.

I've seen this story,
once or twice,
woke up replaying it,
in the middle of the night,
the title of this, still not sure,
it's a scene my head,
I haven't thought out before.
This Theatre that I visit,
I wish I could stay,
but, for now I am here,
til it's my turn on stage.
Writing the screenplays,
words to rehearse,
costumes and make-up,
to me don't come first.
Setting up this play,
but not everyone to see,
like some of the other characters,
that are to terrifying to me.
Don't worry about critics,
or making it on the big screen,
when you finally get out there,
just show me what a star means.
Give it your all,
and just don't hold back,
keep playing on,
that theme song track.
I'll teach you all the lines,
set up all these props,
dance around all we want,
til the theme music stops....

You shouldn't yes you should
signs signals suggestions and marks
river up confuse th' inner intellect
to gather all reason and shape arks
one must believe to follow a sect
You shouldn't Yes you should
some words dialogs screenplays; score
an leave out worlds massive deal
grant whatever is to perform for
an present something to abhor
I shouldn't Yes I should
warnings is all we get in th' mind in th' head
for us to bear an never speak or even try
is yet a harsh reality we despise
I should Yes indeed will
speak by whatever way i can
an empty all th' anger i carry
for i can an will break decay

Laying out
the body
and
them
they have released
polite glances
promising touches
and words for lean against
neither polyvinyl chloride windows
couldn't prevent
stupidity
from entrance
you are forcing your exhausted tears
on
kneeling over the cheeks
screenplays remain consistent
only the pawns alternate
it is noon...
... even Satan needs God to survive

Broken Souls
I talk to producers
of books and
screenplays
My tormented farm
life strayed my way
Strict sheltered
home and harsh
realities
Today’s modern world
and mental tragedies
Constantly under
pressure, was pure
and healthy
I find I was
repressed by
everything I’d see
Never exposed to the
world most know
By turning on t.v
and watching a show
The day finally
came, I had to leave
home
To the hard tough
world, I felt so
alone
This blanket of
comfort, unbeknownst
to me
Left me asking for
an angel to help
guide me
We need guidance for
our mental well
-being
Let politicians and
Parents learn the
true meaning
The book is a true
story all about me
Put into screenplay
for the world to see

Sometimes I can literally feel the burn of silence.
It’s somewhere within my bones,
a blank slate made of heavy metal poisoning.
Perhaps if I cut deep enough, I can retrieve it
and find the inspiration needed to purpose
the lonely canvas I’ve sheltered for so long.
And with a marrow’d ink I’ll scribe the secrets
I’ve forgotten over years of mirrored eye
rolling and self propelled pity #$%*s.
Finally, I’ll be free to pool the ashes,
and build my castle of upside down day dreams,
and brightly lit nightmares.
I’ll call it “The Globe”,
and dress like Shakespeare would if he grew up in the 90’s,
and all my friends can help perform my drunkenly scrawled
screenplays that lead, inevitably to the death of “The System”
that we all helped create,
just so we could have something to destroy.

Today I dropped words
between cracks in the pavement:
half-written screenplays.
My muse, a cappuccino,
conjures romance while I sip.

I'm the scriptwriter
of daredevil dreams, lots
of smiles, a few screams,
yet if the dream god
would be so kind, I'd like
to copyright the awesome
screenplays of my mind.

Write your dreams, advised
Carolyn Kizer, but none the wiser,
she did not imagine these nightly
screenplays the mind designs
with no director, no choreographer,
no paid performers. They come
at will and leave at will in a stay
of reality day cannot provide. I
like it here. No!, love it. Stronger
words are needed for these trips
along territory uncharted and
without my say. Only the mind
knows landscapes, cities, countries
of stopped clocks where people
you love, or do not love, reside.
By dream's decry, there's
forever sunlight on this ride.
The night's outside.

Gone to the jungle cats
Gone to the fat cats
Gone to the mice and insects
in the sewers.
Nothing
will kill a man
quicker
than fear of loss.
Loss of a woman
Loss of children
Loss of home
Loss of fortune
All gone,
eaten by bulimic vultures
who only purge the remains
to leave as a reminder,
something to look back on.
All gone,
violated by mad scores of pedophiles
They feed
Then rape
Then stab
until the dream is complete
Gone to bureaucracy
Gone to the wolves
Gone to the blues
no pick so i have to strum by hand
Gone into poems and books and screenplays
Gone into sour comedy
Gone with the storm clouds
Gone with the days and nights
Gone with time and constellations
Gone for war
Gone for peace
Gone for a quick break
I am sure
the love must be true
when a woman's words
can still pierce
like a gilded pitchfork.

I should be writing books,
Screenplays and sitcoms
But I'm not...
Sloth has dug its claws into me
I shouldn't be watching
Have I Got News For You
From 1999 on UK Gold
But I am...
Sloth has dug its claws into me
I should be doing something
Better with my free time
Than slowly vegetating
But I'm not...
Sloth has dug its claws into me
I shouldn't be content
With the easy answer
Instant gratification, copping out
But I am...
Sloth has dug its claws into me
I really should write
Another verse in this poem
Something witty and insightful
But I won't...
It's that infernal sloth again
