So Said a Potiguara Indian

"They cut my leaves,
they cut my trunk
they dropped my headdress,
But they didn't pull out my roots...
So I went on living"...!

Premium Member I Love Her Said A

I love her said A.
I despise her said B.
The others were quiet.
We knew our aunt C.

She is a marvel
if you are nice.
If you are distant,
She treats you like ice.

I adore her, said one.
I hate her said two.
She gives what she gets.
Between me and you.

Premium Member I Said a Prayer Today

I said a prayer today.
It didn’t end with an “amen”.
I imagine the “algorithmic” angels
Flagged it as “misinformation”
I’ll probably be “suspended”
Or banished by the “cancel culture”
To a state of mindless rambling.

I worry
For once it’s out there
It’s out there
In the “prayer-o-sphere”
Colluding with the others
Misspent prayers
Wondering if they were ever heard.

I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.

Maybe I’ll say another prayer tomorrow
Who knows?

Premium Member Just Joking Said a Star

You are all from a different galaxy sneered the moon.
I was not surprised, always suspecting I am a Martian.
But not Mars! He said, rolling his snake eyes at me.
I was intrigued, as he has never done that before.
Just joking, said a voice to my left. It was a star.

I wondered which planet I was from.
I do not get along with these weirdos here.
They are lunatics, their thinking absurd and unjustified.
Neptune? Jupiter? Saturn? I tried to open my brain.
Just kidding said the moon. Then he laughed.

Typical day for me; surrounded by idiots
Not only on the earth, but above the earth.
I’m not sure which planet I hail from
But I would like to go back as soon as possible.
This one no longer holds my interest.

I Said a Prayer

I said a prayer for you today
and know God must have heard
I felt the answer in my heart
although he spoke no word

I didn't ask for wealth or fame
I knew you wouldn't mind
I asked him to send treasures
of a far more lasting kind

I asked that he'd be near you
at the start of each new day
to grant you health and blessings
and friends to share your way

I asked for happiness for you
in all things great and small
but it was for his loving care
I prayed for most of all..........

Sonnet 9 'she Said a Thousand Things With One Sweet Smile'

She says a Thousand things with one sweet smile,
And all that’s Broken comes together, repaired!
The Buddha sat, sometimes, not saying a thing,
Ah WHAT a LIFE together we have shared!
For twenty-seven sweet years, we hurt and helped,
We grew, and changed, and fell behind, sometimes,
And if she stepped on me, and then I yelped,
She was sorry, and made certain she was kind
Afterwards…
And I, when I fell short, or hurt her heart,
Apologized! Loved! Till I won her back,
Of her, of me, of each other, we are a part,
Though she has died, of Love, there is no Lack!
I feel her Warmth about me all the time!
And all her Wisdom went into this rhyme!

Today I Said a Prayer For You

Author Dana Redricks
December 27, 2016

Today I said a prayer for you.
I hope you said a prayer for me.
Times are hard and we need each other,
And most of all we need our heavenly father
To guide and provide for us.
Our prayers are a love letter to God
He loves and cares for us
In our prayers, we can fight battles
In our prayers, our needs are met
Today I said a prayer for you that
God Yahweh would see you through.

I Said a Prayer

I said a prayer for my fellowmen,
The world needs people who’re
Gentle, kind, fair, want the same
For self and others too.

I said a prayer for my family,
To be trusting, loyal, honest,
Supportive, understanding, defending
Branches on the Family Tree.

I said a prayer for old time friends,
Now having thoughts different from
Yesterday, where loyalty, interest
In same things erupted the atmosphere.

I said a prayer for acquaintances
Once sharing ideas, future plans;
Have we all met them in the self same way,
Or did agendas drastically change with time?

I said a prayer for Christian selves,
Who having been born not of woman,
But of Spirit under the Blood of Christ;
Striving without bias to do the best we could

I said a prayer for lower creatures,
The land and universe in which we live.
Care-takers we all are of God’s Earthly Gift
Of life to live down here!

I Said a Prayer

I said a prayer for you today
it bounced from cloud to cloud
God heard it loud and clear
and now he's smiling down

when you're awake
and when you're asleep
the love he has for you
The purest so true and deep

I said a prayer for you today
blessed be your heart and soul
I know to show you love him
is your daily goal

I said a prayer for you today
blessed be his name
turn to the Lord our God
when your world becomes insane

because every time you pray
he hears you loud and clear
he wraps his arms around you
and starts to hold you near

God loves all his children
every single one
I know you've read the good book
and you know how it begun

I said a prayer for you today
I gave it my all
may the Lord guide you
and pick you up when you fall

to heal you when your sick
and when all becomes lost
just hit your knees and pray
it really has no cost

I said a prayer for you today
it was the best I ever said
I'll say another for you in the morning
then before I go to bed

I Said a Prayer Today

Yes, I just want to let you know
I prayed for you today.
I prayed He'd keep you safe and send
His blessings down your way.
I prayed that God will meet your needs
And you'll always be glad.
May your heart be filled with joy.
May you be never sad.
I said a prayer for you today
And I know that God heard.
He knows I meant just what I said.
Yes, every single word.
I wish for all of you, my friends,
The very best in life.
That you don't encounter hardships,
No trouble, hurt, of strife.
I prayed that God will pull you through
If these things should arise
And that the Lord would comfort you
And wipe tears from your eyes.
I wish you all the very best
And may God light your way.
For all my friends from coast to coast,
I said a prayer today.

I Said a Prayer

I Said a Prayer

I do not have the answers
And it breaks my heart for you
You have to decide for yourself
What it is you need to do

You could look back and see
But looking back is not too good
Today is all you truly have
To figure out if you shouldn’t or should

I could tell you all the things I did
When I had demons like yours to face
But the answers I had are not for you
Mine were a different time and a different place

I have lived through all the sorrow
And pain no one should know about
I was given an inner strength
I can tell you it really helped me out

But I didn’t get the help from a friend
The turmoil I had l was inside my head
And I thought maybe it would be better
If I just gave up and was found dead

That is what pain and heartache did to me
Even my soul lay torn, broken and bare
I am still not sure why I felt such a need
But I knelt down, bowed my head, and said a prayer

I Said a Prayer Today

I Said A Prayer Today….

I said a prayer today
But I didn’t know where to start
I asked the Lord to guide me, strengthen me
As well as heal my heart

From all of my worldly sins and crimes
Forgive me for being the reason my son doesn’t understand that he’s truly mine

I don’t know where I went wrong
Or maybe I do but I’m just in denial
Is there Hope for me Oh! Lord to change my life right now

I said a prayer today
In confidentiality alone in my room
But since I chose to write it down on paper
It’s my testimony to you
