Premium Memberwhat a palette

he liked it black and white with no greys in between
even when cracks appeared so strikingly evident
strictly speaking he preferred pink purple and orange
yet when life gave him lemons the brush would not work

the more he stroked and tarred over ruptures and fractures
uncertainty became elusive and poignantly concise
quite the opposite of what he had bargained for with all
the power delusion distraction insecure fear and despair

he knew that the writing was on the wall and yet
the language was foreign complex and would not reveal
meaning message beauty connotation and guidance
as he was blocked into silence depression resentments

all this had been the relentless story of his life and he
could not bear it any longer seemed to have lost all control
a rational mind portrayed it as the gift of desperation
a way forward towards healing perspective and peace

it was difficult to will positive emotions into effect
matters did not fall into balance but skewed misperceptions
what remained was hope rather than mere expectations
and he carried his burdens into an unpredictable but promising future

SILENCE

To live bound by “integrity”, where rectitude derides you? It’s starkly accustomed. I enrooted, enclosed by academics--the desolate nature of my sentience consuming my interior. Nether perfection defenestrates my subsequent--and I’m so damn tired. Extort my studies till blood seeps via my retinas, weave my pencil till the anathematic led ruptures; a mere standard in our education. Sacrifice my youth as to my future, conglomerate extracurriculars till my collapse, lay none betwixt within life and school; label it as a system. Shut up, shut up all of you! My exertion incapable of being compensated for—silence, silence, all of you! Toil seldom for me, subsequently bequeathing my labor… Discard my passion, coerce me to fill the perforated gaps in tuition—quiet, quiet, all of you! Refrain from protesting till your own encounter, and perpetually weep!

Shut up, all of you
My future prioritized
Discard my own youth

Premium MemberTwo Builders

The Qin Shi Huang Empire built the marvelous China Wall.
The Flavian kings built the elegant Colosseum.
Just as the earth, an edifice needs to be safe for all.
Anyone who enters therein should feel inner freedom.

Though not thick, shouldn't the walls, like one's willpower, be strong?
Like virtues and values, shouldn't pillars and beams withstand?
Like healthy flesh and blood, shouldn't matters in it last long?
As a creation of art, shouldn't a house be well-planned?

This is a thrilling tale that Jesus, the tale-teller, tells.
Two builders, as though Apollodorus, constructed structures
One built on firm bedrock. It withstood all the weather's spells.
Another built it on sand. Soon, the storms led to ruptures.

Hear my words. Jesus says, my words should make their home in you.
Each house builder, with virtues, should build your inner shrines too

The Balance Inside

Emissions from a troubled heart,
Expulsions from a disturbed mind,
Despair projects out like a dart,
Saddling gloom ruptures from the rind.

There is a tranquil flow of glee,
Resonance of harmony strings,
Happiness displaces melee,
The forlorn self stands up and sings.

The soul opens wide its door to light,
Renaissance walks into its room,
Freed from the tendrils of the night,
Its delicate boughs sprout and bloom.

Though dawn chariots the untold,
The mind is steel-towered and bold.

Premium MemberBeneath the Storm

Clouds with bellies full of rain
sag their dark weight over the bay
almost touching the water.
Flickers of lightning illuminate
their core. The noise of thunder
draws nearer, falling out of ruptures
torn in the lining of a late afternoon.

Seabirds hang almost motionless
above me before riding off
on a roller-coaster of air. I ride
with them, not on air but on a longing
not to be here, earthbound
in my own dark. I feel the lift,
the strain within as if part of me
is pulling away. Yet something
always pulls me back
forcing me to stay.

I’m too angry to write clearly
yet it’s impossible to stop;
How many times must we do this,
ride this absurd merry go round?

We speak with such sincerity,
flimsy words they just go pop;
Left with such an empty abyss
community falls to the ground;

Giggle factor ruptures and splits;
Phony calling ourselves profound.

Happy Cremation Anniversary, Auntie

Home from a chemo session, uncle lights up
a cigarette and collapses
to the slick plastic that covers your chaise
lounge, auntie. He thumps the upholstery
with his legs and elbows for blood
to circulate again. A flake

drifts. Dehydrated lips, uncle
inadvertently kisses ash. Cushions
puff up, deflate. Uncle floats
smoke rings to prove he still has breath.
Your bulbous urn ruptures his rings
on contact where curvature

casts uncle’s warped reflection, all mouth and smoke,
as he would rise to reach your urn on the mantle.
Uncle slouches back, watches his sports channel.
I head out with his hamper

and forget to check pockets before washing clothes,
his soggy receipts - - once grocery lists? - -
and tissues, torn apart, clumped up, fake snow
I have to scoop out of washing machines.

Absent-minded tasks at the laundromat, auntie,
where you’d bend in pain. Lint trays reinstall
fluff. I snap
and snap airborne dryer-flakes off towels.

Poem To Your Incredible Indecifrable Eyes

Abyssal, abysmal, profound,
superficial, light, evident,
your eyes change color...
Cracks, gaps, ruptures,
labyrinths, anguishes, throat
your eyes confine my desires...
Precipices, cliffs, gullies
schisms, contractions, insights
your eyes sometimes interact...
Lovers, flirts, friends,
I forgive all this because
I love your eyes
and you... !

A Drop of the Royal Bloodline: Frames of the Firm

There is a war in the laws of the in-laws
When family is also work, you get a title and a position with conditions
Past life comes as an omission and commission
Roles and actors in audition
As for the mind it sometimes finds itself in a suicidal palace
Thoughts can just parade into the ground
Who is who…?
Behind the trope to dethrone the skin-tone of the child within the throne
What? Yes its dark when one is your own to disown
Father and son can share traits and wives can trade places
From a Prince to a Duke like a Princess and a Duchess all matches
Smiles makeup faces but pain loves family ruptures
Tears are structures of a bleeding soul
Guess what, its still patent there two side to a story
Don't just rejoice and see the glory
This is just a drop of the runaway royal bloodline
The royal tree is yet to be rooted

Death brings change
Strange new range

Group gathers grip
Trace teary tip
Time tunnel trip

Torn twisted tape
Drowning death drapes
Rest ruptures rape

t-rump...reigning sourasst...
made his fortune as a stand-in...
fall-guy in wall-street emergencies...
financial vehicle bank rupture blowouts...
someone has to cart the monetary debris away...
and so profit from institutional destruction is t-rumps...
home stomping ground where he is now seeking bailout...
money for his republican party and corporate supporter investments...
now that the ruptures in those public institutions are as visible cracks...
in a wall on which t-rump is leaving demonstrator marks and is hoping will fall...

Frozen fear frames
Bridge broken blame
Note nasty name

Spread stupid stance
Gain ghostly glance
Treat troubling trance

Bright blemish blooms
Risk ruptures room
Deep dying doom

Futile fear forms
Nude naked norms
Plague puzzles prompt

Dense distance dark
Pandemic parks
Sense setback spark

Dig dirty dance
Crude crazy chance
Pique petty prance

Craft courage clear
Note nature near
Draft due date dear

Premium MemberThe Morning Sun

Conservation ruptures the horizon.
Morning fog to refocus the eyes in.
It slowly dissipates as the sun peeks.
Bringing joy and hope, eternally speaks.

Its light cast, onto a brand new world.
Introducing peace and warmth, fear furled.
Festive jubilation for all to see.
Rescuing paradigm, for all shall be.

Fresh emergence will come, your dawn, arise.
Beauty to behold, musings to revise.
Theological hope, will now descend.
The words of this poet, are hence left penned.

Bounteous survival, is now dispensed.
Worries and fears, now forever condensed.
