Rumour

Rumours, as close as a heart,
Deadlier than tumours,
They attack to a victim,
Hurl them down
It can hurt anyone,
even when they are in town,
It follows them everywhere,
Screaming out loud,
"Your a disgrace!
Your parents shouldn't be proud!"
But these are just rumours,
Harmless you think,
They are deadlier than tumours,
And I've had enough of it!

Rumour

A rumour is going around that a rumour is going around.
I looked for the rumour but none could be found.
All because the rumour was not based on solid grounds.
I know what you think but that is not profound.
The rumour's rumour vanished without a sound.

Rumour

An email just received is a sham,
stating swine flu comes from tins of ham,
but don’t get a fright,
for this is not right,
when the email claims ham, well it’s spam.

Premium MemberReleasing Rumour Mongers

Lies from directions I had not expected
Offered in a variety of ways
Apologetically

Pretending to be concerned
I sent them away
Recognizing their imperfections

Seeing them more clearly now
Rumour Mongers
Thriving on gossip

Fabricated by clouded minds
Trouble makers
No longer friends of any kind

Premium MemberThe Town Gossip Gets It Wrong Again

There is a gopher hiding in the gooseberry bushes,
Kaie, the town gossip told me.
I looked hard.
Got prickled by the bush’s thorns too.
Got bloody.
Hey! Someone said.
It was a snappily dressed gorilla.

He was wearing a Stetson with a paisley hat band.
He tipped it to me when he saw I was not picking gooseberries.
Howdy, he said.
Hi, I said back. Surprised he spoke cowboy.
Have you seen a gopher? I asked him.
We looked together, but could find no evidence of one.

I reported this back to Kaie, gladly. She is always getting something wrong.
I know it was an animal that started with the letter G, she said.
She began naming animals.
Grouse? Guinea pig? Goat?
My friend the gorilla tipped his hat to me from the window.
I waved back.
Gorilla? I asked her.
Don’t be silly, she said.

Premium MemberSo She Said That He Said They Said That We Said That She Said

So she said that he said they said that we said that she said….
Whenever you hear this, run for your life.
Run hard and fast.
Stay around and your own words will be used against you.

So she said that he said they said that we said that she said….
Get out of there hard and fast.
Do not stay around long enough to make an excuse
or your excuse will be part of the newest script.

So she said that he said they said that we said that she said….
High tail it to the hills.
Do not answer your phone.
Do not speak to anyone; just go. Save yourself!

So she said that he said they said that we said that she said….
The script of a person who has no life,
No interests, no hobbies, who can only entertain themselves
gossiping about others. And often times the
“she said that he said they said that we said that she said” is not true.

Premium MemberKeeping Faith This Rumour Is False

If I could eradicate a disease would it be shingles, cancer or ALS?

All good causes, but here is the test.

Which one kills the most children in a slow, horrible way?

I have to say let’s eradicate cancer now. Caring not what we would have to pay.

I keep hearing rumours that the world already has the cure but is keeping it secret.
As a cure would eliminate so many jobs.

If this is true, then our world is more diabolically dirty than I ever hoped to imagine.

I have to keep faith that the rumour is false.

It is the only way I can bear it….

Rumour Has It

Social Studies teacher Miss Dicking
Is anyone's girl for the picking
Her nose in the air
Proves she does not care
As long as she gets a good licking

A Rumour

The tongue, a small muscle, yet so powerful and grand
Leaving truth and facts, to wither and contract
As gossip mongers spread rumours, like a plague, across the land
Typically quick to share, and cause impact

A tongue can be so creative in giving various version
Of news and events grounded on reality.
Of course, giving a description away from the true vision
Of facts and phenomena based on actuality.

How gossip mongers are so quick to make news spread,
And cause nothingness into something with profound impact.
Especially to the lazy, ignorant, weak minded and unread,
Who helplessly listen to hearsay without viewing real fact.

Eventually a rumour is proven to be fake
And people realize that their perception was a mistake.

Rumour Has It

Rumour Has It

Rumour has it he came from the country.
I do not know his name,
But I do know his face.
I moved to the town so that I did not have to see his face.
Rumour has it he has a secret.
Now I watch him from behind the safety of my curtain.
Rumour has it.
And I know what it is.

Heard a Rumour

There's a rumour hitting town
It's party time real soon
Not a thing to wear
Have to ring to fix my hair

Hear Beyoncé will attend
Didn't know she was your friend
Will she wear clothes this time
Best she does she's past her prime

Has this party got a theme
Waiting to hear of this party scheme
You have had some weird ideas
Not sure whether to be afeared

Oh it's a charleston night
Fringed skirts will be a delight
For all the males to gloat
Hope my thighs are not too stout

Oh I haven't had an invite
Is this a little oversight
Hear the invites didn't include me
Checked the date I wasn't free

Crime and (A Rumour Called) "punishment"

Justice has failed many I know
For you and I there is little to show.
You see, figures are not made from these times
Government bodies care about the crimes
Promotion is made on ‘helping’ those who dare
Endless resources pumped in to show ‘we care’
Youth intervention, counselling and a final warning
All this goes on until the day is dawning
Higher salaries are not for helping the innocent
A quick call will do, doesn’t that seams a little bit bent?
We are the ones who have had the raw deal
We would never hurt, damage or steal
It seams to me the more honest you are
Justice cares less and I find that bizarre.

Governments look good by how many criminals they catch
Then they will always come out with out a scratch
As always there is no money to be made in the cure
Solving problems and reinventing new, that’s for sure
Moral obligations and responsibility dissolve like salt
Always someone else to blame, but never their fault.
To say crime never pays is a phrase I want to believe
I suppose its what the individual wants to perceive
Punishment to fit the crime, that would be nice
However, there is more logic in just rolling the dice.
