Is anyone's girl for the picking
Her nose in the air
Proves she does not care
As long as she gets a good licking

An email just received is a sham,
stating swine flu comes from tins of ham,
but don’t get a fright,
for this is not right,
when the email claims ham, well it’s spam.

Must remember to add some humour
Limericks must be silly, it ain't no rumour
Bout slipping on a peel
Or some other ordeal
Or pecked on the bum by an unhappy rooster

I’m telling you this, it’s no rumour -
Some people knock my sense of humour
So I’ve ordered a cab
To take me to rehab
With poetry I’m a late bloomer!

To so distance myself
From its loud rumour
Whiney, needy, the earth o'er
Attending each care
Unless that soul, at peace
Its own skies re-mount
Summer-time's "off into the blue"
Escapes go nowhere.

Know of a fellow named John John
There's a rumour his mind is all gone gone
Started losing it I fear
Trying to be a mountaineer
Can be heard yodelling away in his thong thong!

Know a nice fellow his name is Tim Smith
The rumour that he's female is truly a myth
He's hearty and strong
In Hollywood he belongs
To young ladies of the Soup he's surely a gift

Must remember to add some humour
Limericks must contain silliness, it's no rumour
Bout slipping on a peel
Or some other ordeal
Like being pecked on the bum by an unhappy rooster

A survey says Canada's a great place to live
I'll vouch for that, my bias, please forgive
Except for our winters
Creating white whiskers
And the rumour we have summer is only a myth

What can I take for this affliction called “Limerickitis”
Is there a pill to relieve an affliction like this
Don't like to complain
But it's affecting my brain
This nasty old rumour that I've gone looney is a myth

Sponsorship
People complain about constant sponsorship,
But continue to be a consumer.
People only tell the truth if it’s beneficial,
Or maybe that’s just a vicious rumour.

I do not know?
I hear the leaves whisper
on a breath of breeze.
August-sun glows like
honey on toast.
What are the sweet words of the leaves?
What do the trees gossip and sing?
Last night they were still.
Now, a rumour is murmuring...Spring.

people have stopped laughing
and this is no rumour,
children is Somalia sufferes from scurvy
what a sad scene
has anyone seen
these countless
deaths of dreams,
dead consciences
of politicians
this dying Afrika
its dead hope.

Fallen from your throne
The other one wearing the crown
Filled in tears and in silence
No public running wild anymore
All of the rumour fading out
Glad that I am an European with less money
Cause i did find out what being classy is all about

A rumour is going around that a rumour is going around.
I looked for the rumour but none could be found.
All because the rumour was not based on solid grounds.
I know what you think but that is not profound.
The rumour's rumour vanished without a sound.

My soul is caught up in a bind
They say love is but blind
What kind of helpless love is this?
Which to rumour mills would add unpleasant grist.
Can you not simply see?
We are like two buds of the same tree.
You cannot deny, cannot reply
God now please where can I fly?

Lunatic and humour
Crazy as a Lunatic we went,
Woke up with a tiger in our tent,
True came the rumour,
Doomed to lose Humour,
Adventure was the only intent !

Rumour Has It
Rumour has it he came from the country.
I do not know his name,
But I do know his face.
I moved to the town so that I did not have to see his face.
Rumour has it he has a secret.
Now I watch him from behind the safety of my curtain.
Rumour has it.
And I know what it is.

HOLY ORDER
Where is thy sanctity and mystery?
Where is the vow of celibacy?
I’m i asking too much of this odour
Or is it a fallacy or a rumour
Scandal all around you and no remorse
Do i read it to be greed-what should i endorse
Why should priest crave for asset and wealth?
There still a lot not known in the depth

Ballad
Lies from directions I had not expected
Offered in a variety of ways
Apologetically
Pretending to be concerned
I sent them away
Recognizing their imperfections
Seeing them more clearly now
Rumour Mongers
Thriving on gossip
Fabricated by clouded minds
Trouble makers
No longer friends of any kind

The smile that decorated my cheeks when you see me;
Does anyone know where the smile has come from?
Yes ! There is a rumour that a pearly white cloud
tried to hide the little black spot in the dazzling moon.
There the smile was first born.
You brought that smile down to the earth to adorn my cheeks.
Let my smile touch your feet.

Did you ever hear about the couple down the road?
A derelict cottage now, that’s all that’s left.
You wouldn’t believe what’s said to have gone on.
Scandal this and outrage that.
There’s even been rumour of gold buried in the garden.
As legend as has it, their angry spirits still linger.
Remind me to walk the grandkids past the place on Halloween.

Acrostic
Rumours, as close as a heart,
Deadlier than tumours,
They attack to a victim,
Hurl them down
It can hurt anyone,
even when they are in town,
It follows them everywhere,
Screaming out loud,
"Your a disgrace!
Your parents shouldn't be proud!"
But these are just rumours,
Harmless you think,
They are deadlier than tumours,
And I've had enough of it!
