Can’t fly, no wings
no voice, can’t sing
Can’t act, no passion
wardrobe's out of fashion
For music, no ear
quit school, no career
Always fall, can’t play ball
so ~ I chronicle it all

This is me hidden in the shadow
Standing in this cold corner of this resort
I listen to the people who are laughing
Passing by this greenery lot.
They pretend to be happy
But are they? Or not?
This resort is luxurious and expensive
But how much can you pay for a clean room
When having a dirty soul'
How much can you pay for a beautiful view
When it's dark and ugliness inside of you'
How much can you pay for luxurious buffet dinner and food
When your inner hunger is screaming at you'
This is me hidden in the shadow
Sitting in front of my signature cocktail drink
How could anything ever be grander than the Eternal Feast?
How could you pay to buy something with a humans stamp
And not be eager to get God's signature on your thoughts and acts.
This is me hidden in the shadow
Falling down and kneeling hungry and worned.
Lord, don't forget me, at your Heavenly Triumph.

I am…
The last resort for all your problems
Come to me even when all doors have closed
I shall be waiting to give you succour
Because you’ll be needing it the most
I am the force that lifts you
Give you confidence that you need
To mingle again after a heart-break
Unmindful of mine, your ego I shall feed
You only come to me when your heart’s broken
Never of your own free will, to be with me
I do my best to mend your broken heart
As I’ve learned to be patient to a great degree
Your affection towards me is for a reason
Love, I know is not what brings you here
You pray hard I’m not aware of your designs
But I’ve known all along that which you fear
You never did know why I pursued you
Even when I know you are still playing with me
It’s because in love you’ve learned to take
And in love, I’ve learned to give you my soul with glee

I went into town for usual errands yesterday
A nice day with everything seeming fine
I came home to news of the Red Jacket Resort on fire
It is the largest historic resort in town, nearby
The fire was huge, 20 departments from out of town responded
People jumped from balconies to get out for their lives
3 people were injured, but thankfully not life threatening
It was built from the start in the 1800’s, having new owners recently
A luxurious place to visit with many things in the size of it
It is on a hill where coverage showed smoke bellowing out
The main road was shut down as 75 rooms were destroyed
Today, I saw it with half of it gone, a bulldozer and media there
For now, there is no cause determined, as people wait for answers

I love this resort I write to my family who sent me here.
Cuetzalan is a marvelous town, I have no worries, sipping a beer.
Actually, I am lonely because loving couples are in the air.
My family sent me on vacation because they care.
Cuetzalan is as magical a town as Mexico ever had.
I truly am grateful for the vacation, paid for by my dad.
But everywhere I look couples are hand in hand and glad.
I want to be a two-some, so this makes me rather sad.
A butterfly with an eye lands on an exotic passiflora next to me.
I am here, she seems to be saying; next arrives a weird bee.
The butterfly continues to follow me daily from here to the sea.
I am not lonely any more, I feel cherished, and am filled with glee.

When it gets like this
It always comes to that
All I've done is serve my obsessions
left with only one option
The question to be considered
Did I make a reservation?
Again I gambled with what
I couldn't afford to lose
Double downed against destiny
Showing a ten card up
It's a risky game to play
But such a painful pleasure
one more screw up
and I'll own the whole collection.
I'll sacrifice my pawn
nothing more to lose
The remedy for self loathing
is a lethal cure.
There's always a vacancy at the Last Resort
Home to irresistible misfortune all the comforts of self destruction are inclusive.
Miserable place to watch
my ego die.
the paint peeling off the walls
I can feel them closing in
My room has no windows
So I closed the curtains
I didn't want to see
what wasn't outside

Some days I never want to end
Other days I want a reset button
No hesitation, mash it in
Two extremes, high and lows
Never a solid middle ground
Just not how my river flows
Two opposite sides of one whole
Forever a battle ground I can’t win
Last resort to fix my soul
Elevator ride to skyscraper loft
Maybe see if I can fly
Asphalt has never looked so soft

Her accusations had taken their toll
The fights were hostile and neverending
He endured the abuse everyday
Sadly, it became the norm
He was breaking
He was becoming a shell of a man
Beaten down by the woman he thought he loved
Soon, he would be almost unrecognizable
One night, the fight was off the charts
She grabbed him by the collar
He couldn't take it anymore
She demanded an answer
He didn't have one that was satisfactory
The moment she laid her hands on him
He knew
The only way out was to leave
So he did

Read today about a resort forced to close
A tale of rotten luck and heartfelt woe
31 years of entertaining repeat guests
With old-fashioned service, the very best
The owner and her guests all broke out crying
When she announced her life's dream was dying
The Governor's restrictions on reopening the place
Left her little choice but bankruptcy to embrace
55 loyal employees now out of a job
The wealthy governor deaf to each of their sobs
Life's not always fair, but the little guy has no chance
When a billionaire governor's never worn his pants

Edenic garden* landscaped as nature’s paradise…
Thus is how I perceive my vacation haven-resort:
Nestled within flower orchard where I can view beauteous sunrise
Adjacent to fruits trees grove --- offering environmental comfort
Near vegetable and rice terraces boasting of the Creator’s gracious support.
*Isaiah 51:3 For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody...

Come enjoy our whole bean bliss;
where bean-sky-lifts
flavored dreams, sky high
or pick your own beans
on your way up;
yes, we grow it all
on one mega-bush.
Saucer dining jettison’s
flavors into stellar space-brews,
captivating to the senses,
tantalizing the taste buds,
teasing the palate into
sheer mocha-toffee delight.
Cinnamon-ginger-spiced-cherry,
will ring karmic bells;
go ahead, hum-happy.
Luxuriate in our eleven-bean wrap
take a seaside meditation lesson
with, Yogi-Bean-nanda.
We’ve got the world’s only
pin-wheel-driven bean grinders;
drink it,
wear it,
swim in it,
we’ve also got the world’s only
tea-cup boats.
Now, how’s that for a
unique adventure?

Bay area's crown jewel, The Claremont,
Where age 24 Steve Jobs and I talked,
Well, him--as to the future--I was shocked,
The guy aimed high, humble, who want for naught.
An unscheduled stop by a young Prince Charles,
That shook the hands of this Hawaiian kid.
Isabel Sanford's inebriated,
Big Head for A. M. Talk Show With The Stars.
The moment when Chris Kristofferson and,
Geraldo Rivera stuck in the lift,
Then there's Joan Baez mom, a bit of a rift,
Some more late check-in, Waylon Jennings band.
The resort, like San Francisco, midway,
Pearls in an oyster, San Francisco Bay.
***Same hotel where the late Ricky Nelson band stayed with wife Kristin who's actor Mark Harmon(--sister) from the show NCIS, who also visited there, whereto, I have already submitted a sonnet.
