White Pines Resort, in tiny Mt. Morris, IL, was forced to close this week. Governor J.B. Pritzker's one-size-fits-all restrictions on 'non-essential businesses' throughout the state meant that the resort would probably have to wait to 2021 to reopen.

Read today about a resort forced to close A tale of rotten luck and heartfelt woe 31 years of entertaining repeat guests With old-fashioned service, the very best The owner and her guests all broke out crying When she announced her life's dream was dying The Governor's restrictions on reopening the place Left her little choice but bankruptcy to embrace 55 loyal employees now out of a job The wealthy governor deaf to each of their sobs Life's not always fair, but the little guy has no chance When a billionaire governor's never worn his pants

Sad. in Uk business are staying alive as the govt is giving 80% of their salary. The employers pay if possible the other 20% but not always. Many other countries had Turned their backs on the poor with devastating consequences! Nice work Gershon.

There's help here too, but not every small business is eligible, and many applicants wind up empty-handed as well. A rough go right now. :) gw

That's awful Gershon. It seems there would be some kind of insurance or government help for things like that. A fine write. Maybe someone will listen and help. God Bless, JB

There is/was govt. help for small businesses, but the money ($350B) ran out in about 2 days. :) gw

All government officials should have their pay docked to the level others are receiving in the bailout. Boy! Would things change quickly. Have a great night my friend.
