Rejections Poems

The Departing of the Heart

The Departing of The Heart

Salutations for the sound of mind and poverty of heart
Reparations that don’t come through in time to rectify the start
Commiserations for the ones who find it hardest to eventually part
Palpitations of another heart that cannot perceive the concept that it must depart

Military consequences that send the young men out to war
Conciliatory influences of the leaders who target hiring of the poor
Crematory inferences necessary as they knock on heavens door
An Adversary without recompense that helps me get up off the floor

Kindness for the people that are on daily parade
Blindness from the steeple as we play Holy charades
They Find less sympathy for the feeble as they huddle close and afraid
Passing through the eye of a needle as the ferryman gets paid

Interjections from the galley as the defendant begins to cry
Objections in a midnight alley as the amendment causes him to deny
Rejections of the black sheep in a family as without her flock she’ll surely die
Comprehensions of the urgency that communicate in sighs

analyzing the dynamics of social interactions

a fear of commitment
 or fear of marriage
exuberant, swinging
and downright unapoligetic
he calls music
 the woman he always
In every genre she still wishes
to be pleased
even we you disagree
even when she refuses to inspire
even when others don't hear
what your hearing
a little adive
they right people
to tool that htaang
getting it where
you know it should be
when my mind refuses to
be kind to me
and I don't know my way
it's right and real to me
to find the right things to say
put my name on this one
I'd stand pround to brag on this
that's sweet in the right places
and tart enough to kiss
that's how it should be
we gonna do it how it is
not scared of the rejections
that won't make me mad
Listen to the music
switch up a swing
let the musician be musicians
and let the singers sing

Bésame Mucho
inspirational Gooiness
and
the makings of

The real purpose of the visa tourism
Is the humiliation of the guests
Its “us and them” post tribal atavism
The applicants are treated like suspects
The so called survey list interrogates
Some questions that can't be rationalized
To play a reason to pass through the border gates
Despite prejudice that you are crimnalized
The papers you submit might look suspicious
They may refuse you with “I am not satisfied”
Refunds are not provided, you’re fictitious
And anyway, a fool that tried to lie
It turns to be a huge list of rejections
It gives an argument to blow the world away
But I won’t press that button, waiting for objections
If more objections they would like to say.

Why Can't You See

Why can't you see......
That the sacrifices of today,
Are the sowed seeds and hope of tomorrow's bountiful harvest;
That the pain and suffering invested in today,
Will spring forth the Sunny days of the future?

Why can't you see......
That the sacrifices borne out of the rejections
Tribulations, trepidations of today,
May well be the trajectory and springboards
Of opportunities embedded in life's journey?

Why can't you see.......

That the disappointments of life
Are sometimes the tonic needed to catapult you
To the lofty heights of your dreams.....?

Why can't you see.......
That tomorrow is pregnant;
That every morning is a rebirth and a gift
To make the future better than your fortune today?

Why can't you see........
The beauty which lies within;
The fortunes and the treasures
Which decades of neglect and disbelief in your abilities has occasioned?

Why can't you see......?

Stranger Danger

When a stranger becomes stalker, the life you lead comes into question. Was it something I said, that someone took offense . Was it your objection or endless rejections to suitors seduction that fell short of enticing and sorely lacking in suspense.

For what you can’t have, you’ll take in due time. Building up fluids to be spilled upon me, your wine.

At first you did frighten, enough to lose sleep. But, now I am learning, your patterns. Your needs.

Are you ready for me? I’ve something special lined up. I’m certain you’ll approve. It’s all those things that you love!

I’ll be home by 9, but you know this already. Having studied me carefully, unnoticed by many.

But, I quickly caught on to the times you invaded. An intruder made himself comfortable and in the closet he waited.

How cold was that blade when it entered your heart? Were you scared when I continued to snuff out your light?

Are you cold? Of course you are. Your dying. In the very manner you’d planned for me.

Sirens are getting closer. As for you, you’ll cease to be

Here Comes the Rain

Collab by Sharon and David

Fire and rain collide
Shadows, reflections
Subside by my side
Filled with regretful rejections

This infection must be put to death…
Take a breath, take a breath, breath

Stars and moonlight reflects in your eyes and gives off reflections

Breathe underwater in severe, several directions
Overcome the pangs of pain

Succumb to radiant rain

Sun and Moon shine and gain happiness again

Sunshines are mine and rain goes down the drain
I will rise above my fall and drive His lane, riding fiery insane

The reflection makes me insane.

Refrain from driving me insane in the brain…

Train to be sane
Train to be sane

I have risen a train
Riding a timeless train

I have so much pain
It’s like a remaining blood stain

Sweet to taste like sugar cane
Bittersweet to the touch

Shame embraced me, never leaving my present moment
Shame came undone in my mind of lament

Premium MemberOde to Love

churning, crazy-making firestorm
upends reason to disrepair
heightens our senses, our esteem
blinds us to flaws unseen

Oh Mother’s reckless devotion
withstands all adversity
delusional in admiration
eyes obscured, see only perfection

friendship’s less passionate attachment
bathes comfort in your presence
shoulder to shoulder in solidarity
resists all faltering objectives

but lover’s glance and glow
a rose-burst of saccharine extremism
the hummingbird of lust
attracted endlessly to Nectar’s sweet serum

yet painful powerful rejections
still intoxicate the supplicant
the moth’s vigilant pursuit of love-light
singes its wings if only to feel the warmth again

love, you dance so delicately before us
then reach back gracefully
you beacon or grab in brash enthusiasm
to overfill our souls to bursting

true love

True love?

There is something I want to tell you
the audience I can't see hidden in
the shadow land
I write for you and speak silently
cosmic loneliness, unable to reach out
to touch and to feel
There are not many of you, my
fear of so many rejections make
fun of my clumsiness, not having
an elegant pen
I escape into my attic room
Dreams emerge and fade away
I know she exists, and one day,
 I will tell her
I love you and sound banal
Let me dream dreams keep me sane
to endure my pedestrian life

the silent tern
in Finland's forest
speaks of love

Confidence

“Know your value. Confidence breeds success. Act like the person you want to become, and people will start seeing you as that person.”
                     -Mark M. Ford

Despite the circumstances that surrounds,
He doesn’t let them write him,
He’s determined to push through the night,
To bring his view of himself to light.

He’s not lying down on the bed of rejections,
He’s not dwelling in their room,
He looks into the mirror of hope,
His mind sees an upward slope.

Though he is walking through a shrivelled meadow,
His efforts may not be yielding as desired,
Each dawn, he opens a new chapter,
He’s not held down by the frost of winter.

Some people think he’s wearing shoes that are too large for him,
Telling him to consider retracing his steps,
He knows he’s not building castles in the air,
He senses that something is crouching to leap from its lair.

JUDGED

There is a root behind it.There is shade behind.
There is a lap behind, Behind those memories,
There is love behind it.
Another turnover makeover the hope,
One chapter opens, another is closed.
I shouted, I shouted, I shouted aloud,

All in me, all of me, I grabbed it all and threw it loud.
A diagram, I made, a hope, I made pragmatically.
Theorems I learned, but they should be understood
for being learned; how it comes to get something
another is a must.
So if you want to see your soul, you should make
your mirror free of dust.

Acceptance and rejections, solutions and hurdles—that is what we call surviving; that is what we call living.
For some, it is hell; for others, it is heaven.
But we can't judge the book by its cover.
There is accuracy and imperfections in between the chapters. Read it, accept it, but deny the judging and
accept the procedure of enjoying.

Captain cook

Captain cook

I built a ship in a vale of stones and thorny bushes
It took 24 years and more to set sail on a dream
boat to China
I met her on the blue sea of Malaga, sailed on her
til she was 71, sought refuge in coastal waters
anchorage in the town of Mandalay
Deep sea ships have limited sails from port to port
are not allowed to stray from the chart, set by the man
in charge; every ship looks the same, is practical and sleepless.
Not. once did they let me be in charge; go back to your galley, you mad cook, they bellowed, you will only collide with the Dogger bank.
I built my ship, four decks, and a bridge
too far from shore to be of annoyance to anyone
The locals called me Captain Brave Heart, the man who
cleared the dale of snakes.
I'm tired, it took so long to be a slayer of words
ankle-deep in sad rejections.
I'm the master of my literary refusals, words
to feed the flame of elimination

Doubt

Each line typed with care
Two years of life spent examining
rearranging, scrutinizing
Every word measured for its merit
Each comma removed
replaced
removed again
Untill the image no longer
appears on the key
With each reading
excitement soars
Then doubt
Fear of friends laughing at the foolishness
Fear of another stack of rejections
Fear of strangers saying
you're not good enough
not what we want
Not what anyone wants
Yet another tormented sleep
Yet another manuscript
lying dead in the trash can

Such a Life

“Such a life” I cried
All time low and down a reality we designed

Love , Gratitude and Kindness something we all strive
Hold expectations and our ships dive

Phone and social media keeps us alive
From Virtual breakups and rejections to posting “wanna die”

Relationship or Physical satisfactions now all are alike
Deprived of Goodness, heart , soul… oh doesn’t matter Beautiful Face will do fine

Misery , loneliness under which now we choose to thrive
But hey ! when do you lived for yourself, Please describe !

A really short life is on decline
Make it a good one or a bad one , only you can decide.

The Sum

The Sum
By Benjamin Mui

I am not a failure Nor am I a success
I am not my rejections Nor am I my acceptances
I am not worthless Nor am I special
I am not my weakness Nor am I my strength
I am not a loss Nor am I a triumph
I am the sum of Nothing
Neither the bad Nor the good
Not who was Nor whoever is to come
		     I am what is Now
I am who I choose to be
		      I am my actions
		 	   …

			  I am

Premium MemberThe Arsonist

You set the bridge on fire, burning away all of our connections
You are the most calculating arsonist looking back in reflections
You might as well have staked my heart like vampire rejections
You dragged me in like smack spoon fed with sweet cooked injections
I, no more than a self-proclaimed codependence need for interjections
I was lucky enough to get away from your endless contradictions
