The Torn Out page

Was worthy and reputed,
Was needed and recruited;
Was fresh and secluded,
UNTIL I WAS TORN OUT, NOW CRUMPLED AND WORN OUT!
It came and wrote out on me,
I was open and letting it see,
It scrambled on me with feel of hate,
but I didn't know its name was fate.
Was hoping and curious,
Was creative and serious,
Was fire and genius,
UNTIL I WAS TORN OUT, NOW CRUMPLED AND WORN OUT!
It dim the light of my eyes first,
Then slowly made my emotions burst,
It made me question my sanity,
I was completely stripped of my dignity.
Was sobbing and pleading,
Was crying and bleeding,
Was mourning and seething,
UNTIL I WAS TORN OUT, NOW CRUMPLED AND WORN OUT!
Now I was all covered in ink,
That brutal doesn't even blink.
I broke and shattered bit by bit,
Then it tore me and opened the slit.
Now shivering but healing,
Now fearing but sealing,
Now ended but... still feeling.
BECAUSE I WAS TORN OUT, NOW CRUMPLED AND WORN OUT!
I am not attached to the book anymore,
Though shaken to the deepest core.
It thinks it ruined me by tearing me,
But it doesn't know, that just made me free.
Because,
I WAS TORN OUT,
Just wait till, again I sprout...

AN OLD GRIOT’S TANKA HOMILY OF OURSTORY

John Lewis and Stokely,
Recruited me as “Tex” Lowe:
Another SNCC "Bro":-
Like King, they have both passed on:
The vision and I, yet here:-

Know and be aware,
Integration…not the theme:
Rather, equity:-
Let’s seek the Dream’s true vision:
Political equity:-

Malcolm too…is gone;
Barak and Harris…still here:
Likewise, are you too:-
So many others have gone;
So many others still here:-

I shall soon be gone;
But I know we shall get there:
Completely equal:
Both economically
And politically, too:-

Christ was crucified,
Risen,, and then ascended:
Canvassing the way:-
Know that we are of God, too:
Kins to Simone of Cyrene:-

In now awareness,
Let’s ice oppression’s syndrome;
Journeying to home:-
We’re in God’s liberation:
He is the greatest power!

Premium Member do not step on ricks toes

Small town hick watched a romantic flick
Ate his salty popcorn really quick
Floor of the theater was sticky thick
Stepped on the toe of an old friend named Rick

Angry Rick told his big brother Dick
Dick recruited their second cousin Vic
Vic said fighting is mean and sick
Ignoring the slight is the real trick

According to Alnur Mussayev, Trump was recruited

Premium Member slaughter them without mercy

The elves were not mean enough to harm the orcs themselves
They recruited mercenaries and winged monkeys from the North
They marauders flew into the valley on Tuesday whooping and hollering
Should we have done this? The elves worried among themselves
The orcs were brutish and aggressive, but did they deserve this wrath?
By noon that day the mercenaries and winged monkeys were all dead.
The orcs had been trained well by the nasty hateful Lord Morgoth.
He sent them to reign terror down on the elves.
“Slaughter them without mercy,” he told them.

Industrial Dispute

Santa stood in the warehouse
Full of nearly empty shelves
Last night they’d been ram raided
By a bunch of discontented elves

Recently infiltrated and recruited
Into an association of packing staff
Whose ideas and demands and wants
Caused Santa to cynically laugh.
He could have held out for longer
That much was very clear
But the clever blighters
Had subverted his reindeer

To make matters even worse
Pushing poor Santa to the edge
The blighters had gone and clamped
His only working sledge

Only thirty days to Christmas
He knew of no other way
Than to meet their demands
For increased shift working pay
He’d do what it took
To bring things back on track
And ensure he had enough
To fill his mammoth sack

He reached for the Gordon’s
For one last large stiff gin
Then went to arbitration
With a forced and fixed grin

Premium Member Funny Cake

She asked us for a funny cake
None of us understood
Until the seven-year-old heard the request
I know what grandma wants she told us
She recruited several cousins
They formulated the perfect cake
Wild knows wild said my husband
He ought to know
He was raised by one
And is being bossed now by the other

Premium Member Meeting Aunt Bailey's Train

My neighbor Lee said, "You cannot miss her.
She is wearing an oversized hat."
I have been recruited to pick up Aunt Bailey.
No description other than the hat.
Unfortunately when I arrive
Every woman getting off is headed for the Kentucky Derby.,

I wait until the crowd thins out
There are two women remaining.
One is Aunt Bailey
The other is her twin, Aunt Cailey
Who decided to surprise my neighbor, Lee.

Lee did not come himself
Because he had to clean the house
He had said “I’m glad Aunt Cailey is not coming.
She is the cleanliness nut.”

Premium Member The Army Cook

He desired to become an army man,
Who could operate a stern-gun;
Those recruited him said:
As an army-cook, you could go-ahead;
Lion in a kitchen room?
broom in hands of a brie-groom?
He did not give up, yet,
He got his mind, set;
He cooked for them,
Filled with smiles, like a gem;
They appreciated the way he peeled onions,
Tomatoes seemed to adjust with  his opinions;
Capsicum might have kept her mouth shut,
When he, of-course with no malice, got her cut;
Fish, meat and eggs, though reluctantly,
Obeyed his commands, gently;
he could find happiness on faces,
That fought, many battles, for future races...!

God Recruited Us to Play the Game
By Franklin Price
02/11/2022

God recruited us to play the game
And He blessed us every day,
Protected us against ourselves,
In the places we would play.

Gave us many years together,
Filled our needs, most times our wants.
In our lives were many home runs
And, at times, some well placed bunts

We were a team God put together,
Rounded bases far from home.
He managed us, for who were were,
In all the places we would roam.

I was the pitcher, you the catcher.
You were there on every throw.
Always protecting home plate
You were the best, at it, I know.

Other team mates, He recruited,
Be they family or friend,
Filled out all the other bases
And they'll be there 'til the end

God saw that you were injured
And he took you from the game
And lifted you to Heaven
Did it all in Jesus' name

Now that you're no longer catching,
I will coach, no longer throw.
Other team mates, gathered 'round me,
Help to soften up the blow.

To compare our life to baseball
Is apropos, I have no doubt.
It all started at a ball game,
That we could not have done without.

Doomed: Drafts of the Contented

Unrestrained I thrive in absolution,
Heroic of what my morrow may be,
I rend the deception of temptation,
Restrict evil to grasp control of me,
Specific privacy hears my last plea,
A one on one relationship with God,
Pithily, pithily, I'd stand high, awed,
I function nor oversees what await,
Angelic advisors their staff and rod,
Recruited table ere the Pearly Gate.

Peace Under Siege

Today I'm learning the name
of war refugee camps,
in Congo, Rwanda, Palestine, Lebanon,
Turkey, Syria, Yemen, you name it,
and the children who play hide and seek
in charred automobiles, shivering in cold
and starvation behind the barb wires, thanking
the good Samaritans clothed in peace.

Today I'm signing Lennon's Imagine,
imagining those children swapping their places
even for a day, with your rich suburb kids
whose fathers profit from arms, to see them
recruited as child soldiers, putting their war game skills
to good use.
Today I'm laying siege to warmongers and their kins
who love peace and practice war, the true artisans of
hypocrisy.

That Moment Someone Catches You Dancing

and you carry on
Recruited by the devil
he doesn't know I'm taking over
never to see the fake of God
for what revenge I'd make
for all of us that gazed upon
a cloud
knows there very little the air

Cashew With Spirit

Flowering cashew tree
with atavic aromas
as rejuvenated souls
atoms that orbiting in brightness
carrying spectra to pleasure
when savoring the sweet and sour fruit
does imitating Babel glossolalia
at the distant desires parties
in airs prone to pleasure
like that Nirvana on earth
passions detached from ideas
multicolored sweet thoughts
invoking all eternity
in the primeval juices of the dawns
fruit and flower recruited from euphoria
to make this so bitter life
a delicious and juicy cashew
in the spontaneity of a mouthful of cachaça ...
