The fight in which you can't understand,
As love proceeds to hold your hand,
On purpose with precision, precious in his eyes,
Keeping every ounce of you hidden protecting your heart inside,
Like a treasure to keep or a door to unlock,
A place to hide when the heart's had enough,
We live out this life with everyone knowing,
And yet forget the heart that's privately showing,
The love that we so desperately want,
That quietly reassures us we are more than enough,
That stands by our side that doesn't need to be seen,
And loves us no matter what whole heartedly,

Am I here, am I there ...
Am I screaming everywhere,
Can't get in, can't get out
Snared by what it's all about
Beats of blue-green 'round my head
Share the space with rockets of red,
Splashes of yellow paint pour ...
Black and white reassures me more
Louder and louder, nearly deaf
Are there any sane one's left?,
Just what is it, tell me quick
Really, is it all in the music?

I sometimes sit awake at night
unsure what I should do,
swimming through my thoughts
yeah, all the worries of the day.
I guess I like the solitude,
although I’m feeling blue
there in the quiet moonlight
softly, God opens the way.
In dim of night he reassures,
a peace rests in the air.
The things I want to worry of,
they simply melt away,
replaced by visions of what most times
I am unaware.
It makes me want transcend time
and in that moment stay.
But soon it’s time for sleep,
in parting, God assures one thing -
that amidst all the toil and strife
he’ll be returning soon.
I drift off without care of what
the next day’s going bring,
blessed by what I felt and learned…
by the light of the moon.

His gleaming eyes are blue, like oceans vast;
They study me with love and tender care;
They tell a tale of trials long since passed,
And dream of going where most wouldn’t dare.
His heart makes music, like the beating drum;
It gently beckons me to his embrace;
It reassures me that we’ll overcome,
And makes me feel at home in any place.
His gentle hands still wield compelling strength;
They labor for our livelihood and life;
They hold my heart through the night’s dreaded length,
And guide my way through sorrow, storm, and strife.
I see that I’m his most treasured prize
When I look into his gleaming eyes.

Silent October forest
Frisky fey feel jolt of anticipation
Dwarfs, brownies, fireflies and faeries on ready alert
Something is about to happen
One tiny faerie is particularly clairvoyant and perceptive
She stares at a small fern, knowing this is where it will happen.
An inner voice urges her to keep focusing
And so she does…..
Halo of illumination slowly oozes out of the top of the fern.
Tiny star glimmers radiate from this halo.
Faerie begins to get answers to her lifelong questions.
An inner knowing reassures her, faerie godmother is here.
She knows she can return to this spot
Meditate to her heart’s happiness
And get other answers
It is more than enough

A boy i considered my friend asked me,
“Do you have any friends?”
I paused and typed out “what?” With a shaky hand.
“I don't mean to be rude, but you respond so quickly at any hour of day or night,” He quickly reassures me.
“Don’t you have anyone else to talk to?”
“Depends.” my nails click on the screen.
“What do you consider a friend?”
He takes a second to respond.
A minute
Five
Before he messages back
“Someone you can trust and spend a lot of time with.”
I freeze up a little before i answer
“I have you.”
“Do you have any friends beside me?”
I whisper the word as i type it.
“No.”
He was taken to the mental hospital one day later.

A room alive with voices who thrive, healthy hearts,
spirits of joy abound, sounding like the melody of family,
Intimate pieces of yesterday, mixed
With the present and the presence of grace.
Unspoken, the words – still, roaring, a lion heard through the silence,
Softly whispering kindness, stirring light
Who gently plays with the moments, hesitating
Like the painting on the wall - of Jesus, the bible
On the coffee table, a statement from her heart.
A room alive with songs so bright, vibrant hues of hope and love, faith
Insight into the psalms and proverbs, pieces of miracles, wonders surviving
All the fears, the tears, the years – before peace soothed away every doubt,
Leaving His presence in the house…
Beneath the nights who try to consume,
There is a grace that reassures, a prayer that abides to prove…
Granny’s gift left the world with an inheritance
Measured in light, flavored with insight
God’s glory shining bright, as the world keeps turning,
Remembering, discerning – Jesus is returning!

she often appears in his dreams
wearing pink carnations and other flowers
those sky blue eyes staring through him
he cannot stop looking at her pink red lips
she is prettier in death than she had ever been in life
a woman who is forever twenty-two
he stares at her alabaster skin
those eyes stare back and tear into his soul
I am sorry, he tells her, I should have never been driving drunk.
the blame has stolen his life for the past twenty years
she puts her pointer finger to her lips
Reassures him, tells him to release his guilt
You are an angel, he whispers, but I am to blame
I need to focus on this, I need to suffer
A soft hand strokes him on the shoulder
She lets him know that she is where she wants to be
She was a marvelous friend, a great co-worker
A terrific listener, and now she is his guardian angel
Release the guilt! She tells him.
This was meant to be.
He has no other choice.
Tears overtake him, he sobs until he feels exo

A sullen
sickness
befallen me
from whence
a darkening
ventured
nigh
and stolen
the sparkling
embodiment
features of
stars
in the
gloaming
of the mundane
hovering misery
of shooting
dead stars
aloft my
head
aches now
fevers the whole
of me afire unceasing
as it spreads and
grasp my soul
this simple
cover
to shield
the chill that
stills my blood
like frost to ice and
flits burning back
to hell's hold
temporal
twas
until the
perspectives
exchanged one
to the other who
now lays its claim
and tortuous
name being
Dante
I wrapped
myself and
snuggling in
hopes to shrug
off this biting cold
that locks its icy grip
on my body and soul
if not for the beating
of my heart that it
reassures me
that soon it
will pass
and end
malady
pursual of
my deepening
doctorless gloom
that will drift a parting
long-awaited since at first
my eyes had closed and will
soon be opening to the
welcoming vision of
her striking ascent
prepare myself
for that cure
is here ...
Aurora.

God lit the day
With shafts of hope,
A glistening Son, rising
Overflowing the soul
So, yes, I can know…
God lit the night
With stars so bright,
The shining STAR,
Kindness, stirring
So, yes, I can know…
Wherever He shines His light,
Be it day or be it night,
I can feel the glow inside,
The song of His love,
Stirring awake my whole life.
Wherever He shines, His glow
Stills the darkness,
Reassures the wounded soul,
Hesitates in the spirit
Who knows His blessing…
Light that perfects
Light that accepts
Light that connects
Our souls to Him,
The reason I can say…
I love Him more every day!

I
love to
hear him laugh -
this student not
brilliant, but looking
like a sweet member of
Menudo. Maybe it's the
way he laughs like me. . . heartily,
or maybe it is just because his
laughter reassures me I'm still funny.

I spent my first day of retirement chopping down small trees.
Renegade brambles full of ivy and poison vines, Kansas kinds.
Tripped on several of them, landing hard, without using my hands.
I heard my mother’s voice yell “Don’t break a hip, that is the end!”
Dripping sweat and exhausted, I came into the house to shower
My husband returned from his supper-hunt in ten minutes.
He is a tattle tale.
"There was a full grown doe in the driveway eating the leaves you chopped."
I am not surprised.
Deer is my power animal.
She symbolizes gentleness, grace and beauty.
She is also a symbol of freedom.
I feel I have escaped my captors.
Deer teaches us to be compassionate and kind.
I had found almost none of either at my last workplace.
Full of meanness, backbiting, jealousy and hatred.

Not quite red, sometimes pinkish, orange has a tangy freshness.
Adding the prettiest accents to Halloween, October, and fall festivals.
My favorite sweatshirt, broom, sweater, shirt, and chair are this color.
She perks me up, delights me, and keeps me jazzy and sassy.
Orange inspires me, reassures me, uplifts me, and enthuses me.
Wendy Witch and Jessica Rabbit both sport orange hair.
Orange is the first paint color I run out of every two months.
She puts a sparkle in my step, and exuberance in my brush.

I have my bedroom guards the girl reassures her Dad.
Don’t worry, no one is going to get me, no one bad.
He had no idea how many cats his daughter had.
They never let anyone stay over, especially no lad.

They sit in silence at the table
Eating their evening meal
He gently wipes the food from her face
This life they now live still feels so surreal
She now sits in her recliner chair
While he makes her a cup of tea
Emotionless and still
She stares blankly at the T.V
He closes his weary eyes and remembers
The who she used to be
Her sweetness, her laughter
And a life together fulfilled and happy
Asleep now in her chair
He reflects on where she has gone
Alone and confused in her own mind
He has missed her for so long
He helps her put on her nightie
Gets her tucked into bed
His kisses her and voices “l love you my sweet”
As he gently strokes her head
She takes his hand and squeezes it softly
As a lone tear rolls down her cheek
He smiles ,cuddles and reassures her
Lovingly whispers “Oh there you are my sweet”!
