Purple Cat

The purple cat hides
Under the dark rainbow bridge
Looking for color

Raibow Bridge, A Haiku Trilogy

We found you,dear cat.
‘Lovey’.dead you, beauty you.
Our soul tears ,splash, splash.
                         ~
Gone to Rainbow Bridge,.
Play with butterflies galore
Milk in rainbow bowls.
                          ~
Gone, your fur to kiss.
Mice, you chased,such feline grace.
Angel, ours, at Rainbow gates.

Premium MemberThe Dog Wore a Rainbow Bandana

The dog wore a rainbow bandana
A feral cat hissed at it
Birds bullied each other at the feeder
A hawk in the shadows
Rats scurried through the alleys
Of both the rich and poor
(garbage is garbage)
Children waited for the school bus
Breakfast waited for them
An old woman collected “recyclable” cans
(a homeless entrepreneur)
I wondered
“do politicians ever look out the window?

Premium MemberDappled Rainbow Hues Upon the Floor

"Family love, hugs, smiles, laughter and acceptance of togetherness within a home, precious moments made. Quote_by Poet"

The sunlight streams though the stain glass window
dappled rainbow hues upon the floor, dust
specks dance on beams of light in the shadow.
A tipped deep breath blown; then fades in trust.
Children run down the stairs ever robust
songs of merry and dance full of games play.
Hide 'n' seek, gay dog and cat chase all day.
After dinner family play charades.
Stepping' up, rock 'n' roll, afterwards pray.
Somber dappled gray shades as daylight fades.

Premium MemberMy Own Verion of Rainbow Bridge

Your pet is welcomed at the Bridge, by one of my cats.
In my version, each cat or cat family, has a home.
Ours is called "Romios House."
It has bedrooms, a kitchen a huge living room and a telephone.
I can call any of my cats, anytime.
You decide the number.
Especially, when they leave this earth, and you are lost!
You are free to call them at any time as often as you like.
You create the number!

Your pet isn't standing by a bridge, waiting for you...
They are too busy enjoying life.

For one thing, they go to school and wear uniforms.
They learn to read and write.

To add~ there is a shopping mall, they love to go to.
And a movie theatre!
There are 22 animals at Romios house with lovely bedrooms.
A living room, where they have story night, parties and dancing.
A swimming pool and a soccer field!

They are active and not mooning over those left on earth.
Their lives are full and happy and no cat or dog gets ill.
So, my friends, if you have a cat or dog that is very ill~
Let me know?
I will call one of my cats or dogs to meet or greet them at
Rainbow Bridge.
They will be amply loved and cared for.

Love,
Panagiota

Premium MemberA Crow and a Rainbow

When I helped, I saw.
Petals I can smell.
That's so tragic, crow.
I can't tell colors.
There's a close rainbow.
They are only cats.

Premium MemberWill My Cat Reach Rainbow Bridge

When my well-fed cat dies will he go to heaven?
Will he make it in cat years to fifty-seven?
Or eighty-six or one hundred and five?
Just what is keeping this fat sassy tom alive?
Shark has a kill room around the back.
Has killed varmints from here to Hackensack.
Will he ever reach the Rainbow Bridge?
He annihilated my mean Aunt Midge.
Sure some do not think it was Shark my cat.
But he’s wearing her rings, so what about that?

A rainbow of hope, in my hand I do hold.
That paints the room in prism colors, in God's hues,
so humble yet bold.

Your heart that appreciates me, enables me to write.
Positive comments blessing many a somber night.

My cat listening to music with great intent.
Her feline calico head, to the left, soulfully bent.

Who cannot just desire to write, catching these joyful
moments in time?
So eternally grateful, of all our souls entwined.

Fresh chocolate chip cookies,on a shiny plate.
A tall glass of iced milk, my culinary fate.

And the Hawaiian print nightdress caresses my waiting skin.
Luxurious jungle gardenia lotion,I want to swim in.

Such simple things make the world one of gratitude.
And that, my dear rainbow poets,is not a platitude!

Premium MemberThe Kitty Rainbow

My dear cat, bone-thin and frail from not eating, lies calmly on a cold steel table.

I talk to her, petting her for the last time as they prepare her for the injection.

Next turned sideways, her little head rests on my hand as the needle goes in.

My tears spill as the nurse softly tells her, "Go to the Kitty Rainbow."

On Tuesday Rainbow Dog said to Rainbow Cat
My fine friend, Let us have a little fake spat

What is the point Rainbow Cat decided to ask
Drinking tea from a shiny aluminum flask

We’ll make them worry and we’ll make them think
The next time they turn us all orange and pink.

Conniving Rainbow Cat did not mind the colors,
But she did like to rile up their elderly mothers.

I’m on board, she said, you can count on me.
So they started the spat on the count of three.

They wrestled, barked, meowed, wailed and rolled
Their lavender-haired mamas were shocked I am told.

Hold out whispered Rainbow Dog as they rolled down the hall.
Their mamas ran out with treats, sixty three in all.

Why do we act horrible like this Rainbow Cat asked Rainbow Dog.
But he was snoring and farting, that happy smart little hog.

The storms’ve now passed.
The birds call under rainbows.
Cat’s haunches in wet grass.

At the End of the Rainbow

It's a little reading nook
Where I can sit with book

Where a window opens to the wonders outside
Even if I would rather be inside

A desk sized perfectly for me would sit in the corner
Filled with my written words, barely able to keep its borders

A cat lazily laying on the window sill
There to give encouragement and to give me time to kill

Peace and serenity rest here
Keeping close everything I hold dear

If it wasn't for the necessity of supplies
I'd stay for the rest of my days sublime

The Cat Ate the Rat Who Ate the Bat

NEVER LIE TO THE SKY

You promised to make rainbows last forever
Primary colors that would refuse to fade
My belief in your vow proved I’m not that clever
I believed every promise you ever made

You said that whenever my eyes aimed for the sky
Wherever I looked toward where sparrows fly
I would see a rainbow that refused to die
But like so many promises it was all a lie

Blue was the color of your eyes and the sky
Yellow was the color of your hair spun of gold
You said red would remain as long as we’re together
And that a rainbow would still be there through inclement weather

You told me that rainbows were created for only me and you
A couple holding hands in a park on a breezy blessed day
But I learned rainbows eventually fade because that’s what they do
And along with our rainbows you also soiled and spoiled the Milky Way
