We pass the fire sticks near the police cars,
lit.
Bright round moon shine, that’s it.
The fit,
from the tall and small,
still they’d rather walk then sit
with grandpa in the car.
We are so close to home. Each keeps their wit
and acumen, as we trudge through the dark -
feels dangerous, but we don’t quit,
even when grandpa gives a second...
