A quick study
fast learner
knowledge gainer
page-turner
info. retainer
midnight lube burner
all at sea
in a world of turmoil
choosing my words carefully
pouring oil on turbulent waters
a salve to soothe the sorry soul
picking only those
which carry weight
reset the balance
and the sentiment I wish to state
losing myself in the still point
of my poetry
it's there where I find
sweet sanctuary

Quick Poem

You could write a ten minute poem.
In nine minutes from now, the temperature turns on.
I could have eaten the pots and pans in the sink.
But they tasted like old leftover stuff.
You could jump in.
If there are things in there.
Like creative books and patience.
Maybe give the stove some time.
Two minutes are all you need to write

Pistol Pop Quick

Another horrible deal,  mouth, cloth, chlorophyll 
Lie still, lie still, in the fires burnt chill
Tiny blue pills, professional rookie kill
Amateur without skill, dripped blood spill

Bea was quick-witted, clever and sanguine.
Loving adventure, her escapades fine….
With energy enough for at least twenty.

a quick snow,
Georgia awaits,
unless
a cloud breaks shell,
lambasting with lace.
outlandish

rubbing eyes;
genie
grants wishes
to school kids.

shove and shovel of flakes,

Esmerelda was brainy, bright, mentally keen
In the quick-witted department almost obscene
She’s sagacious, perspicacious, totally shrewd
To point it out, would be a teensy bit rude

We let her get away with things others would not try
Her brilliance intimidated more than one guy
