The Proverbial Path of the Just

“But the path of the just is as the shining light,
that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”
Proverbs 4:18

King Solomon shared with the Jews over time;
much he had learned from his own dad, King David.
The path of the just is no quick, speedy climb
for the light it brings forth is way off the grid.

Solomon had wisely asked God for wisdom;
He wrote proverbs galore, one of God's sages -
sharing divine wisdom with those who'd become
carriers of that light down through the ages.

Believers today find the path of the just
in Jesus who's the Truth, the Life and the Way.
Steadily we grow as we learn about trust.
God's Spirit shines through us till that perfect day

That perfect day when our spirit is transferred
to the presence of Jesus and Father God
Meanwhile, we must keep on studying His Word
sharing more and more light as His path we plod.

Cast your bread upon the water
          if you like it soaky

As for mine it’s in the oven
         ‘cos I prefer it toasty

Proverbs 18:2

A fool has no delight in understanding,
but that his heart may discover itself.

I delight in both of those things.
Am I a fool for wanting that?

Or am I wise?
Or maybe, just maybe,

I'm myself, and I have no excuse
to abandon my own heart.

because if my heart can't find itself,
then who will?

Premium Member The Promises Made

I am scarred,
battered,
bruised.
My mind keeps showing me
God is here.
He has told me
through all the pain,
He will never lose,
and I will have all of the gain.
He shows me that I can be whole again.
I will recover from my past.
All the pain and suffering
is ending in my heart
because God has more than done His part.
So I will trust in the Lord with all my heart,
My understanding is not to be relied on.
In all my ways I will know Him
and my Great God will make
my path straight.

Premium Member Dangerous Dalliance

A strange woman
can turn you into
a deranged human

Lust not after her
She'll leave you to
just rot, heavy cost incur

Eye-grabbing, she will lure
Don't fall into her trap
Soul-stabbing she is, stay pure

With false vows, she entices
Be not seduced by her beauty
She'll waltz, carouse, all wayward vices

Stay away from her streets
Her house directs to death
Play, then prey - that's how she defeats

An amorous alliance with her
can steer straight to hell,
A dangerous dalliance with a sweet whisperer

Premium Member Broken, Humble and Repentent - Proverbs 15: 8

All persons have sinful hearts
ever since this world one day
fallen mankind had no answer to this
no matter the miles they have ran

But God has provided a remedy
for only a perfect sacrifice will do
to remove sin and produce righteousness
His only son Jesus Christ will be true

This sacrifice God accepts for sinners
when they are accompanied by three traits
they must be broken with no hope
in themselves so desperately in wait

They realise only the eternal one is sufficient
to piece them together in God's shape
but being humble is also really key
bringing a repentant spirit up your spiritual tree

So God brings through Jesus His son
His way of salvation open to all
just needs to be broken, humble, and repent
for God to speak and you hear His call

("The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord,
but the prayer of the upright is acceptable to him."
Proverbs 15: 8 (ESV)

Quote:
" A person who's been sinful during the week can be accepted through the sacrifice when it's accompanied by a broken, humble, repentant heart."
- John Piper)

Proverbs 3:33

The Devil certainly would, to give in to evil you could, may the good Lord curse you
The word of God is good, to strive for it you should, and may you live a life of virtue

Premium Member The Corrective Love of God - Proverbs 3: 11,12

Often we know what we want
but then again God knows better
His ways to us don't figure out
but we should learn from His letter

When God chastens us in His love
it's for our good He brings correction
learn to trust in the Lord your God
for you were always His selection

This is the story of God's love
never forget no matter His plans
God always, always wants the best
for you are tight in God's clan

God is your heavenly father
who does everything in love
always having that in His view
to have a relationship like a glove

God's children are His own possession
for the Lord counts them as His delight
nothing can take away the love of God
it lifts you up into your heavenly flight

(My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline
or be weary of his reproof,
for the Lord reproves him whom he loves,
as a father the son in whom he delights.)
Proverbs 3: 11,12 (ESV)

Hundred Proverbs Advertize Herbs

To the public the man shows herbs
For Advert hundreds of proverbs
"Your worries and mine wisdom curbs!"
Lots of Adjectives and Adverbs;
On roads blares, neither dumb on kerbs
Voice screaming hoarse near touring Serbs...

But the Old Seller of New Herbs
Settles for nothing short of blurbs,
The problems of voice pitched high curbs
And down brings number of proverbs...

"Buyers I see less for sung herbs"

MIRANDA'S PROVERBS COLLECTION

    VEILS

Although she covers her face with a veil, she
always manages to be coquettish. (Bengali)

With a veil every woman is beautiful. (Azerbaijani)

A woman without a veil is like food without salt. (Pashto)

An ugly woman exchanges a silk belt for a woolen veil. (Russian)

The thicker the veil, the less worth taking it off. (Turkish)

A fire goes out for lack of wood;
when whispers ceased, neither quarreling could.

As hot embers fanned bring flames to life,
a quarrelsome man so kindles strife.

------------

A little more, but a lot intact from the English Standard Version

Premium Member Proverbs 25:21

A corner of the roof is a better life
than a fine house shared with a quarrelsome wife.

Only a very minor restructure of the ESV text required for this one

Premium Member Godly Fear Begins With God - Proverbs 1: 7

Proverbs is a wonderful book
telling the reader all that's true
considering it with deep thought
it makes such real sense to you

'The fear of the Lord' makes one halt
it brings you to stop in your tracks
to ponder and deeply think about God
so you question yourself about your lack

God is bigger and greater than you
being eternal before, future, and now
true knowledge begins and ends with the Lord
calling you reverently to humbly bow

The majority of this world are fools
despising wisdom and godly instruction
no matter how much God shows His love
they reject His message of spiritual resurrection

Knowledge begins with the fear of God
be sure that's your motto all your days
make life a joy in the Lord's presence
abide in God's word obey all that He says

('The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.')
Proverbs 1: 7 (KJV)

Proverbs

Have you ever had that situation?
One minute you're lying asleep
The next you're awake
And in trouble deep.
On the pillow next to you where
There should be an empty space
Lies a pretty, sleeping, very
Feminine female face.
You look for the door and,
With a sense of doom
Realize very quickly
You're in a strange room,

The last thing you remember
Is being in a strange bar
So where on earth are your mates
And for that matter, where's your car.
This may be very nice
But all the same
Who on earth is
Miss What's her name.
She could cry for help
Or shout out rape,
Now's the time
For a strategic escape.

A sleeping arm flings out
And comes to rest
And suddenly you're lying
Naked breast to naked chest.
It's warm and it's nice and you
Think I might as well just stay
Tonight is tonight and
Tomorrow's just another day,
Remembering the proverb,
There’s no need to rush,
‘cos a bird in the hand
Is worth two in the bush
