Premium Member He asked her to the prom

The world rejoiced with Sally.
Energized ~ sweet love was in the air.
Her eyes of blue elated.

Premium Member Archie

Off to the prom went Archie
Wore his fancy collar extra starchy
Stretched his neck an extra inch or two
Danced with Betty and Veronica till his feet were blue

Prom Night!...and I'm Sitting by my Phone

One Ringy Dingy and I'm...Prom Prone!

Too much Zing! in my Swing...

She Ran!...Hoof on a Wing

So, now I'm Dirty Dancing...Alone!

Prom Night

Love is below
cause of shadows
build to leave
above in time
see the movement
find peace to a hand
show the move and smile
lights go dim see believe
space and defended
help to open the bread
heads and minds behind
poor of delf defeat actions care
dress spirit and climbs
beautiful and at passion
walk to the car or bus rush hit
smoke and cough to get slow
opinions of difference
used up wait hold life
beer to alcohol and survived
hair and dress to really impress
power and easy street hard to receive....

she loves her tiara and satin gown
he’s in a stiff tuxedo, feels like a clown
another mismatched couple, who will marry after prom
thinking they are in love, a small world they live on

Premium Member PROM PHOTOS

Our granddaughter attended her high school Prom…
her photo was posted on-line
which led me on a hunt through our old photos
until I found one of me at mine.

As I gazed at these two photos
50 years apart…I quietly exclaimed
how parts of our world have changed dramatically
while others remain the same.

50 years ago social media and computers
were, to us, unknown
today we have access to the world
and can take pictures on our phone.

But as technologies and social media
readjust and rearrange
friendship, love and high school proms
are things that never change.

Take a look at these two photos
I’m sure you’ll see it too…
how even 50 years apart
we both look good in blue.

You may be wondering to yourself
which one of us wore it better…
no need to answer…God forbid!
Take another look…
it’s obvious who did!

Premium Member Come With Me

Come with me, I'll take you to the prom.
You're my heart throb as everyone knows.
Come with me, we'll play through the night,
And I'll be sure to twinkle your toes.

The girls will look fancy to the max.
They'll all be wearing fabrics of green.
Come with me, oh Adonis himself.
You'll be the hottest guy on the scene.

I'll twinkle your toes, I'll sing to your songs,
And laugh at the love prompts you say,
Come with me, oh darling, please come.
Youth waits at the dance to run free.

I watch whirling shadows, as lovers are hugging.
Disco lights tug at my heart like a small child.
The low punchbowl is both shallow and deep.

My fixation becomes both shallow and deep,
gazing upon alluring couples hugging.
I was always alone, even as a child.

Oh, the shadowed daydreams of a child....
A prince would kiss my hand; our love would be deep.
In royal attire, we'd be twirling and hugging.

Hugging the wall, like a child in the deep pool, I rise up.

Miss Lee Ding met Mister Chance
When he asked her for a dance
It was not his shoes
That gave her the blues
But how did he wet her pants?

Premium Member Fond Prom Memories

Ah, Prom! I remember it well
      how my excitement did swell

Would I be asked by a girl or a boy
or maybe an ‘undecided,’ oh joy!

Premium Member The Prom

The big day arrived and no date for the prom.
      My fairy godmother came to my rescue;
A cool suit, stylish haircut so I wouldn't boom,
I was the hit of the prom I can tell you.

I walked across the dance floor and every girl
Hypnotized with my smile and improved hip hop moves.
Their heads in a whirl and their toes in a curl
They were all dancing to the latest smooth grooves.
