Miss Lee Ding met Mister Chance
When he asked her for a dance
It was not his shoes
That gave her the blues
But how did he wet her pants?
Ah, Prom! I remember it well
how my excitement did swell
Would I be asked by a girl or a boy
or maybe an ‘undecided,’ oh joy!
The world rejoiced with Sally.
Energized ~ sweet love was in the air.
Her eyes of blue elated.

Best friends but the competition is fierce.
Prom night has its expectations.
The queen crowned ~ the mood is bittersweet.

A chance of going to the prom can be so sublime
Spare no expense, even if it is your last dime
It's worth the money
Remember honey
Unlike marriage, you can only do it one time!
waltzing under stars, pimples break from thick hair mousse...disgusting prom night!

My Most Unforgettable Moment in HighSchool 9/5/2020
At my prom, I was a flower on the wall
To fade into obscurity I wanted to crawl
Shy and withdrawn
In my gown of chiffon
Scared of the girlies, I wasn't enthralled
Prom Night!...and I'm Sitting by my Phone
One Ringy Dingy and I'm...Prom Prone!
Too much Zing! in my Swing...
She Ran!...Hoof on a Wing
So, now I'm Dirty Dancing...Alone!
At the prom, I was a flower on the wall
To fade into obscurity I wanted to crawl
Shy and withdrawn
In my gown of chiffon
Scared the girlies, they weren't enthralled
she loves her tiara and satin gown
he’s in a stiff tuxedo, feels like a clown
another mismatched couple, who will marry after prom
thinking they are in love, a small world they live on
tthe night
was bright
some wore white
it was very cool
they played the blues
also it was on the
news
about our school
there also was gleaming
lights
it was a run of fun
AT THE
PROM
Form:
Off to the prom went Archie
Wore his fancy collar extra starchy
Stretched his neck an extra inch or two
Danced with Betty and Veronica till his feet were blue
AP: Honorable Mention 2025
A cowlick springs up
right when it shouldn't
Can a comb strike it down
I'm afraid it couldn't
An application of grease
looks to keep the peace
'Til - drat - it springs up again
~ I think you know when
Murder at the Prom
Frankie Lyman shrilled his falsetto.
Gwendolyn Gould danced in stilettos.
So callously smothered,
they never recovered.
Poor little piggies, scrunched little toes.

My wife gave birth 3 times, still fits into her prom dress
Don't fit into my trousers from last March, kinda depressed
What's her damn secret
Only eats peanuts?
And once in a while a couple of grapes of the meagerest
Exuberant; wild in love.
Naïve in hopeful Dreams
But oh so sweet did Passion flow.
Dreams floated from your palms
In glowing waves to flow
Across my curves.
We were proud and haughty in sexual confidence,
Gliding on the center of our own universe
Form:
Nikko…will you go?
Will you go to prom?
Will you go to prom?
No?
Prioritizing? Gym! Kickboxing! Golfing! No Nikko!
Nikko…will you go?
Nikko…will you go?
Nikko….my pinup tomboy tycoon!
No?
I will comb my wig for you!
Will you go?
Will you go?
Nikko will you go to prom?
Stuck between two girls on prom night
sometimes I just feel like I'm a shining knight
in the darkness there's no sight
between what is wrong and what is right.
I shall choose the one I love
the one who flies like a dove
in my heart and in my own little cove
stood I in the empty fiesta grove.

In this moment
The vibrations of the music
Mimic our rising pulses
Shimmering light
Glistens across your flawless skin
I lean closer just to grasp the scent
Of your restlessness, your flawed innocence
This could be the most perfect moment
The last of that we share together
Take my hand and grip my soul
I give it all to you
The last bit of control

The big day arrived and no date for the prom.
My fairy godmother came to my rescue;
A cool suit, stylish haircut so I wouldn't boom,
I was the hit of the prom I can tell you.
I walked across the dance floor and every girl
Hypnotized with my smile and improved hip hop moves.
Their heads in a whirl and their toes in a curl
They were all dancing to the latest smooth grooves.

crocuses peering
at rows of bright red tulips
near the iris beds
pansied faces have retired
wilting in the warm sunshine
flower prom begins
as gentle winds kiss roses
sunflowers steal show
swaying to their own rhythm
with stunning, huge blooms
bridal veil flowers
extend above azaleas
bowing tenderly
delightful sight to behold
dance of marigolds
frail petunias search
for gentle dancing partners
lily petals reach
for petunias graciously
prom lasts all summer
