Practicing the pause

An epiphany dawns: practice the pause,
without stifling heart’s spontaneous vibe.
Our void-centric presence seeks no applause,
conditioned patterns choosing to proscribe.

Holding steady sconce of childlike delight,
suffused in mists borne by bliss magnetism,
in cave of heart, simply feeling God’s light,
dwelling in peace is our soul’s chosen ism.

Space in and around, hums with God’s power,
with which we are touched,

Practicing the pause

resting endowed functionality
as bestowed by the universe
a stirring yet arises in the heart
to emote a melodious verse

humming pulse of innate aliveness 
cajoles us to dance on life’s stage
we pause awhile in the bardo
where fires of lust and desire rage

pristine presence looks at the ego
amazed at how big it has grown
it’s misaligned with the call of

Practicing the works of God
In every day that I am blessed
He has anointed me with wisdom
The Holy Spirit is what I possess
I walk in the path of righteous
Even when the devil is near
I close my eyes and smile
For the devil won't be heard by these ears
I am now a child of God
Full of strength and

Practicing to Die 

Laying in bath
An inner vision of geometric patterns
Dances around a swirling kaleidoscope
Dizzying as an ocular migraine.

So lulled in self-hypnotic repose
Effortlessly I imagine dying
Completely at peace
No thought of attraction or aversion.

No sense of depression or despair
Just another moment
Out of time
Out of mind.

Living with the inevitable,
Practicing to die
I wake again
Refreshed.

how may we silence
noise of our mind
driving us mad

attachment 
causes stagnation
yet we remain addicted

practicing the presence
of divine magnetism 
ego disappears

Practicing the presence

Practice makes perfect, is an old adage
but it’s up to us to choose skills to hone,
which satisfies desires that in heart rage
and if resolve be steadfast, we will own
the magical flow, as rapture full blown.
Let us then oh wise one, choose God-connect,
pulse of love detect, let it grown unchecked,
recognising He dwells within each form,
correcting consciousness

relaxing and being as we are
if mind wanders, we let it
aware of whatever appears
in mode embrace and release
God’s presence nears

practicing the presence 
as a flowing orientation 
heart cleansed of ego residuum
one with pulse of love magnetism 
we are vibrant in the continuum

Desharah was in the nursery with 
The babies. Early afternoon. All was
Calm cool copacetic in their home.
Everybody seemed content.
At Amadeus home his wife Teased
Him. The baby started to cry. 
Amani said,  "Amadeus go see about 
Your son."  Amadeus slipped into
The next room and cuddled and

Practicing the presence 
in the void of stillness,
rekindling innocence 
in vibrant blissfulness,
bursts forth effervescence.

Practicing the presence 
in childlike wonderment,
our inner sentience 
ignites the joy current,
nestled in contentment.

Practicing the presence 
as our breath gently flows,
the burning bliss incense,
our heart’s cravings mellows,
gracing soul’s ambience.

Practicing the presence 
in quiet surrender,
unbound is heart’s vibrance
in rapturous thunder
of our luminescence.

Practicing the Presence

Honour God’s presence within;
He’s in our heart, go therein.
But for Him, we’d be mere dust,
inert, lifeless body crust.

Bliss tingle we feel, His breath;
inspirations flow in stealth.
Free will’s granted to align
with octaves of love divine.

Know we’re never abandoned,
His child, readily pardoned.
All that we’re needed to do,
let bliss pulsations renew.

All souls are one, none apart,
be at peace,

Pride of Place

The movers wheeled the piano in the apartment 
my tutors revealed plateaus climbed as an artist 
hours flying pages turned black and white keys charted 
scoured trying ages I played packed plight I started 
recitals, concert halls, from practicing hardest 
reprisals, my art calls, the piano sits modest 
In my twilight years I teach children

Practicing the Presence

as God’s breath flows in through our nose
vibrant presence in calm repose
aware of a divine impulse
seeing God everywhere at once
blissful in the boat, that He rows

Bliss roars, gripping us in rapture
Heightened delight, marks our stature
As of heart’s will, fierce or gentle
Love both our consort and teacher

Shaped upon the divine mantle
Presence beholds God’s miracle
Caterpillar now butterfly
Upon choosing pathways simple

Resting thoughts of how, when and why
Divine entwined, we wingless fly
Ceasing to size, we vaporise
Suffused with bliss, God soon draws nigh
