(Grease Bubbles, 2021, original photo) Practicing to Die Laying in bath An inner vision of geometric patterns Dances around a swirling kaleidoscope Dizzying as an ocular migraine. So lulled in self-hypnotic repose Effortlessly I imagine dying Completely at peace No thought of attraction or aversion. No sense of depression or despair Just another moment Out of time Out of mind. Living with the inevitable, Practicing to die I wake again Refreshed. (6/20/24)
