The bars are barricade,
Fears echoing in deep solitary,
Hold your ground in life's parade,
Hide in isolation for this is history.
My tender throbbing heart loves hope,
But she's packed and leaving down the slope,
No one is asking her to stay,
Not even the pope for her did pray.
I watch the streetlights flicker low,
While silent prayers refuse to grow,
The windows rattle with the rain,
And every night feels just the same.
If hope should ever turn around,
I'll meet her where the lost are found,
Till then I'll guard this fragile light,
And write her name into the night.
“Your hands are full of blood”
the holy man did speak
In furtherance of all the work
his life was meant to seek
Braver than the creatures
who have filled the GOP
He talks the talk because he is
the truth they’ll never be
A Pope
Brings forth hope
But a kaiser
Spews hate and horror
A Pope
Spreads peace
In the north, south, west and east
But a prideful mope like a squalid dope
Spits horrors and terrors
And starts fights and wars
A peaceful person de-escalates
But a belligerent bully booms, inflates
And explodes like a lost missile
Which acts like a cussed imbecile
A real leader
Never follows an oppressor
Yet a follower is a master loser
Who lies about everything
Even when the sun is shining
A Pope
Offers love and hope
But a loser displays no compassion
No sympathy and no comprehension.

EXPECT LIGHTNING STRIKE
GOD TELLING TRUMP TAKE A HIKE
LEO HIM I LIKE
TRUMP NOT INTO POPE
THE FREAKING POPE TRUMP, YOU DOPE
CATHOLICS WILL COPE
The other day I overheard
one alien say to another
The Pope would opt for peace on earth
if he had his druthers
So, in his Easter address to the planet’s nations
he’d be wise to advise ~ every earthling’s deportation
Praying for all especially who need
Onyx cross hanging black beads
Pontiff as cool as blue breeze
Elegant without emerald trying
Let there be love and peace
Even if we don’t all agree
On who Christ died to free
The chair sits empty on the altar floor,
its arms long held memories lost from sight.
Once carrying prayers, uplifting souls,
a silent witness to life now waiting in muted space.
As too my heart and soul are emptied
of the fullness of the humility of the living Christ
An empty silence stands where mercy stood,
a throne calling out to be restored in grace.
Yet in this disquieted quiet the voices
of the dearly loved homeless and un-fed are heard
As the altar watches prayers of devotion rise,
in the emptiness prepared for God to realize.
And His world shall pour its holiness back in,
like dawn returning after the night air has grown thin.
Fullness shall lay on the cushion where absence now sits,
filling the hollow with dignity and strength .
As the sun rises across the valley of the nave
of this incensed filled smoky sadness
A golden rosy light flows through upon the marbled vault,
as a quiet promise of a renewing earth.
Morning air is poised to carry prayers still unsaid,
as promises rising from beyond the dead,
And hope is reborn in radiant glory
out of a now breathing silence into a new unfolding story.
Pope Joan and Joan of Arc
Mysterious women
Both known
For their parts
For hundreds of years
Hidden by history
But time would reveal
What some would not let be
Women dressed like men
Having Divine reason
Chosen by God
Each in her season
The Thirteenth and Fourteenth centuries
Is where each lived
Did one know the other
Or was another life lived
Saint Hood and disgrace
Would divide
Their purpose in life
In which the one lied
The other a warrior
Undisguised
Making France what it is
Though a martyr died
History still hides
What men would divide
Why was it disgrace
For a woman in that place
But the two yet different
Are still the same
What they did back then
Has the same name
We now ask the question
Why a Saint and the other a shame
We now look to God
Who has given it a name
There once was an old Pope from Rome
who had the Good Book a huge tome
an altar ego and mass appeal
so he made the Vatican home
2015 he addressed the environment
on climate change caused by man
and issued a Catholic Church encyclical
the first-ever since Popes began
let's trust instructing his cardinals
to avoid any more scandals
when pontificating and preaching to the choir
to burn less incense and light fewer candles
altho' it's a slippery slope here's the dope
and no I won't soft-soap
there's not much hope of Pope on a rope
but I can cope so I won't mope
now hear my voice as it's a choice
if I may be quite so bold
religion is discretionary not hereditary
and the herd of sheep in the fold should be told
I know my partner
well and nigh, do tell a lie
for he stop smoking ~
but the loo has a chimney
that puffs white smoke, pokes the Pope

new pope
brings hope
He may not be new to Peruvians or New York, but he is like a brand-new shiny penny to us. His casual manner serves as a guide to the pathways Jesus took. He is a simple and uncomplicated man of God. I like him, I can't wait to see his program rolled out before us. He greeted people on his Popemobile with dignity and pride. I can't wait for his presence in the City of New York. What will he say? How will we accept him? With Grace and Humility. I hope. Pope Leo XIV, I welcome "Your Grace." It is time for the Catholic Church to be brought together as one. I believe you can do this. With help from the congruent. I am a simple catholic person who believes, you can bring us together. Don't allow the Power Structure to ruin your vision. Be Strong and stand with the people. We love you.
Robert Francis Prevost:
a brilliant man but not one to boast.
He brings a message of peace, love and hope,
and holy smoke! He’s the new pope.
Robert Francis Prevost:
as Leo XIV, he will not coast.
And another thing we know about the man:
he is a devoted baseball fan!
