Phosphorescence Poems | Examples

Issue, Iridescence

Issue, O Iridescence!
Luminesce on the sly.
Pore over, phosphorescence?
Oh yes, and here is why!

Students of the nebula!
Empire has its cost!
Best to keep it regular?
That or deal of Faust!

Sauced, are ye, wild warriors?
Well, at times it's best.
Lost and sinking? Sail azures!
Tours and boors need rest.

Zest, O mighty zephyr!
Boreal pole, hear all!
Have you seen the lost heifer?
My! Io, give a call...

Fall, when winter, taciturn;
Sends the snow and ice;
Sullen, silent, spares to spurn;
Miracled device;

What will avail travelers?
High road, one with us?
Gods of death, synthetic furs?
Bile and blunderbuss!

Muss on heads of wearied folk?
That is not good news.
O for eggs with scrambled yolk!
Doom, Death, disabuse...

Channeled communications?
Be sure to precise read.
Otherwise re-educations!
Draw bead, O my greed!

Weed atop the giant's mound?
Zero Lost and Found?
O ye serpents, hissing sound?
Next below the ground...

Warning? Dark fire, warming?
O locusts on the air:
Sudden is thy swarming?
Life, ladies, is not fair...

Premium Member In the Shadow of Sunlight

In the shadow of sunlight where dreams dance daintily
Forgotten memories flicker and fade into frozen fragments
Slivers of soft light illumine the dappled canopy of leaves
The luminescence of son et lumiere is lavish in its lustre
The phosphorescence of photons creates a phantasmagoria
Scenes of silver silence resurrect sonorous solace
The forest glade flits and flirts with frolicking fading light
Burnished beams of bright sunrays ballet in between birches
In the shade, shafts of sunshine shatter, scatter into sparkling specks
Hazel Helios hovers high up in the heavenly hemisphere
The gigantic globule gleams golden as it gives its greetings to gloaming
Surrounded by surreal saffron setting in the shadow of sunlight

Yellow Moutains

In my back, yellow mountains, glittering with a thousand bursts,
Of course, the sun has its incandescent magic
God is phosphorescence; his knowledge blinds all dogs and cats,
May the night be divine, when I leave my kingdom,

Who are we? Camel companions, desert companions,
Companions of eagles with millenary greenhouses and pointed,
Lost companions, by the splendor of our cities,
Who are we? Companions of the blue Bedouins,

We know about what only silence teaches us
We know only what God wants to hide from us,
We are companions of camels in the desert,
Behind our backs, yellow mountains, sparkle with a thousand bursts.

The Body Personal

The body-personal will be achieving little today.
Today is a too tight T-shirt.

Bloat and insomnia
have measured and found soft round toads
croaking in the swamp of being.
There are squawky
oral articulations in dry joints.

A fate has made its presence known
revealing pre-set mousetraps
strewn upon the path of well laid plans;
it warns obliquely of dentures mechanically
nibbling on stale cheese.

Knowing the hours will belch
and empty-out air that could have
breathed new life into words,

Perceiving that chattering mind-children
will cross the distracted mind
without a crossing guard,
be bowled over, squashed, spread
over neural highways,
their scant electric membranes
dissolving and denuded
leaving a sticky residue
over the body personal...

then that body
must retire and regroup
into a proto-cognizance,
a glow of phosphorescence
too primal to be snared,
yet able to predict
when it can get out of itself -
hopefully.

The Sea

Rowing in the wooden dingy,
My arms recall
The lost days
Of ocean voyages,
And all at once I remember
The emerald green
Phosphorescence
On night watch....
And the midnight sound
Of dolphins breath
Those princes of the sea
Who were enamoured
With our wake....
Heaven!
A salty world of endless horizon
A million shooting stars
Defining a possibility of their worlds,
Victorious were we
Gliding along
Visitors on an incandescent world
Atop the throne of mermaids from days gone by

Premium Member From Unnamed Realms

In an incandescent wood luminous poppies offer
guidance to travelers; tree limbs dance in
syncopation to universal rhythms.
Fireflies shed their phosphorescence
among the flora.

I walk here in radiant beams of enlightenment.
Gathering gemstones; dream time baubles
of esoterica for I am first, a spirit.

Hearts of lavender and rubies
sing out their wisdom in archetypes
of eternity’s cultivation.
I secret it all away in my backpack
and return with a smile to mortal reality.

I have heard the voice of the flowers,
smelled the sweet scent of the Universe
and danced to the refrains of cosmic elation.
Inspiration comes from unnamed realms
and rests upon the ethers...
grasp your share.

Premium Member Mermaid

Silver flashes through ocean swells
sound ripples across the water
strolling the moonlight kissed water
surrender to nights sensual promise
foam breaks, mermaid soars resplendent
cobalt teal diamond skin shimmers
powerful tail propelling her way
phosphorescence trails behind
sea sparkles flitting in her wake
face startles, finely dotted aqua spots
thick lips pout, fierce, predatory
fiery orange and red markings
warrior lines swirling, cheek to neck
swims towards me, I’m awestruck
daggered teeth, transfixed
purple searing eyes, allured
flips mid-air, veers away to plunge deeply
her tail douses me in sea water
I laugh and marvel
savage beauty of the sea
silver flashes through ocean swells

Premium Member Love's Mirror

Sky tinged with phosphorescence
  Moon pale, convalescent
    Incandescent lunar crescent

Adolescent lips meet in acquiescence
  Hopes blaze, steamy flourescence
    Hush! thy quiescent quintessence

Shy effervescence, her backdrop incalescence
  Tumescence lurks too, fraught essence

A Welcome To the Isle of St Mary

After a long passage we were weary.
With the Wolf Rock astern the sleepy sun
dipped behind the low Isle of St Mary.
We eased into twilight with a beckon
from the Peninnis light. Tom heard a splash,
then phosphorescence ripped beneath the sea.
Inverse aurora displayed with a flash,
and a squeak from the deep, for us to see.
Over the bow Phil reached and touched the fins
of a leaping vibrant frame, with delight
at our union with a pod of dolphins
making us welcome at the fall of night.
In the Isles of Scilly safely anchored,
how privileged we'd been, how favoured.

Time

Time
couldn't contain you,
my ocean!
Not a wrinkle on your sapphire body,
shimmering in the moonlight
encased in your flamboyant phosphorescence...
like on the edge of a dream
you carried us down home,
to our south pacific friends,
past life recollection of yesterdays
where time is a fruitless endeavor
and their white teeth gleam like moonstones,
brown faces a mirage of southern hemisphere smiles.
Just a ghost of a moment in a timeless set of motions,
that eternal nightcap of ecstatic
pilgrims,
til the curfew tolled
and the ocean companion,
waited
with patience through its silken facelift
and took us back
to America

Tattered Sbaquie 2000

…undeniably tattered and shredded
my itinerary compromised by being
considered as prey and being
expected as a masochistic self-flagellator
losing revenue to the big gun’s atrocious tillage of the mind’s phosphorescence
I bagged the boy’s brigade for being bridges
and then being able to be
nearly my own cerebracy and again
appreciating my own celibacy …
in a rational loss of solicitude for
those obliquely using or anti
I built ramparts against the banality
of the ill-advised and the
ephemeral lacy streak of zig-zaggers
and water-diviners
and lost the locality so as to bequeath my
solid grade before I pop off into
the space of the grey morning light

Now don’t get overstrung

Soothing sliding silvered tides, fields of verdant; rolling co-inside..'

Beards of algae flow on wrecks, phosphorescence guilds the whitecap in flecks,

As a mirror shattered myriad shines, to uneven waves that crash in; times..'

Un-counted amounts of wash elapsed, endless etchings have surfs out; scratched..

I see the glimpses I hear that noise, in awe; I observe the power and poise,

Atlantic grey-green, Indian serge, pacific hued, I need to re-visit & become re-clued

The saline reeks, there are nets of fish, tootling tugs, low tide rippling in meek.'

Memories crowds... Of golden sands..' Ice cream, picnic baskets; beer and bands..'

The Sea Is Calling

I smell the salty air coming from the sea
I hear seagulls squawking
I feel the sand burning my feet, but in a beautiful way
I see the bright blue wave trying to push the sand
I feel the heat coming from the bright yellow sun
I feel the air pushing me lightly
I see the sunset going down.

I see the reflection of the moon that looks like a man’s face
I see mermaids swimming by with the green bright phosphorescence
I hear nothing else, but the water going to my feet
I see a whale come out of the water, and trying to reach the moon with its tip of the nose
I see the green phosphorescence splashing with it
I feel….
The sea is calling
