You never know
you may possess the eternity gene
the one that morphed from mundane into miracle.
It would seem wonderful... at first
you'd become a star
you tube phenom
a best seller
everybody screaming for an autograph
a touch of your polyester robe
the envy of the universe....
delayed pulse of a curse
You've outlived a million wives
10 million houses
100 million friends
chained to a chain of your children's funerals
a million sorrows that never end.
You've outlived your favorite constellation
and no longer look at the darkening sky-
you are blind,,,to the possibility of ever meeting God
you pray for the blessing of a death. never to come
you'd eventually be pitied as a freak
treated as a leper
to be avoided at all costs
chained to life for eternity
a never-ending cosmic flaw.

Fast as you can say ‘Jack Robinson’
Up pops another rookie phenom
But as April heroics fade
to June swoons
Came the dog days of August
extinguished ~ the honeymoon

I Am a TITAN, Solar Helmet Steady
I Am a Golden Phenom of Self Mastery,
Burning Bright, I Am a Diamond Soul of Opulence
Rising in Hyperborean Confidence,
I Am Heaven Blessed and Royally August
I Am Valiant, I Am Gallant, I Am Robust
I Am a Lion Blooded, Eagle Minded Conqueror
In Total Freedom My Wings Flutter,
Solo Ponderer, I Soul Cypher the Great Mystery
Tramping these Legendary Victories,
Kindling the Spark Of Hope, Ignites the Phoenix Epitome
Golden Born, I Rise Like Joshua Over Jericho
Fortified like Iron Pillars, I Stand Tall
Where the Stars are Blazing, Suddenly Blazon, Suddenly Enthralled
The Shine is of Jubilance
I Am Shimmering in Luminance,
Ecstatic and Exuberant
I Am a Phosphorescence Of Exuberance,
I Am Enlivened by the Resuscitation of the Searing Blaze
I Am Alive, I Am Sublime, I Am Stoic in Archaic Faith,
Star Gleaming, I Am a Metric Ton of Glorious Gold
Blazing the Noble Path of the Eight Fold,
Belief, it's an Absolute Must
Full Speed Ahead, the Inner Fire Combusts
This Luminous Torch Within I Trust
Got me Soul Drifting Wanderlust

The world has no idea
what it's been missing,
the Death Adders are hissing
and we are deaf to the warning.
Too late to stop the snakes
from spreading the venom,
too late to recognize the Phenom
is six hundred sixty six.

I ponder the phrase, ponder the 'natural'.
There are an infinite number of ways to die
either tragically or macabrely comic,
countless ways to cash-in or cash-out.
Obituaries record ‘sad endings’ from natural causes,
peaceful age related slow-go.
Lingering, suffering, grinning in a dark room
just waiting...not so natural.
The deceased have no say of course
some step on garden rakes and die from a hole in the head,
some deliberately put a hole in their heads.
Death is a one size fits all phenom.
Natural? Maybe if natural is a clown car full of bull crap.
What's unnatural, what is a great blessing
is when the once living plant God in your heart
then depart on a cosmic greyhound
leaving you to ponder the unnatural aspects
of the ever-loving natural.

Home delivery is the lastest phenom
Groceries plus other items, the whole spectrum
Let's hope it continues
When the danger's through
When relief is permanent and welcomed

Ralph Waldo Emerson: “A woodland walk, a quest for river-grapes, a mocking thrush, a wild rose or rock-living columbine, salve my worst wounds.”
SUFFERING SEASON
broken…
the sediment — a deposition seed,
of what meaning, this scrawl?
splinters splayed, suffering season
comforted by a columbine.
pressed into the carnivorous cranny
of melancholic chords, phantom phenom
appears from sunless shadows,
felicitous with numb heartstrings.
pretense of petals pierced,
potent poison’d creative mind.
woman in white, welded to hatchery,
sings wisdom and solitude —
shy flower cranes its head to listen.
rebirth croons in crannied space,
cramps of convalescence released.
a lonely boy. . . the florid dove lands
on two fingers, he’s mesmerized —
the apparition strokes his hair.

I can watch them again,
grown men at a children's game,
the glory of the Show
on the TV screen.
For a while
I couldn’t watch,
knowing
I’d been close.
A phenom
Double A at 18
90+ fastball,
but it didn’t move.
And in Triple A
and spring training
for the Show
they ate it up.
When I tried harder
my arm blew up
rotator cuff - tendinitis
epicondylar fasciatus
Tommy John
physio, drugs, steroids.
Hope springs eternal
but nothing helped
enough.
Now I sit in this bar,
mush for brains
just like my arm.
Don’t care that
drugs and alcohol
don’t mix
as I watch them
knowing almost
is worse than
never.

Step right up unto the latest craze
Doe bank baby trying to escape
Big buck's double digit haze ?
A phenom horned in sound
Sweeping across its banks
Her plastic hobo clowns.

Just running

not looking for alliance
you can the have science,
because when the

my faith is the

Heart pounding hard

Not fighting for

I want the game to

Don't care about a

The best

Train all day,

Talking bad about my team

The color of the midnight sky,
I am the color of indigo.
I am the smile after every storm,
I am the 6th color of the rainbow.
I exemplify innate wisdom,
Allow me to be your muse,
Intuitive and understanding,
Mental wealth you can’t refuse.
I am the backdrop for the stars
And the background to the moon.
Look to me, you’ll find spirituality,
A higher power you’ll be in tune.
I symbolize solitude and oneness,
A sort of psychic capability.
A color of strength, a color of depth,
The phenom of self-mastery.
I am indigo, the color of knowledge,
The complexion of self-reflection.
I am indigo, master of personal thoughts,
The color of profound introspection.

I look in the mirror and I see it in my eyes,
I start to feel it in my heart,
It's all things that can make a man cry,
It is distance that we part
I didn’t think it would take much for you to realize,
To read between the lines,
To look deeper inside,
Take the time,
For us to confide
Its love I wish to share,
It's something fragile I need to give,
So please listen, take a chair,
My life...with you, I want to live
One second, one minute, one moment,
I want you to give me,
To show you what I’m worth,
To get you to believe
Cupid has given me a curse,
Of falling in love with the first I see
I’m sickened by you, I need a love nurse,
I really think I do, I do
They say that some phenom makes your heart skip a beat,
And I know it’s because of you
The thought of love, passion, or desire,
I think of it as love's heart burn,
Because my heart finds you hot like fire,
For the love teacher, I have already learned
Now I want to quit wasting time and actually experience it,
They say choose where your heart takes you,
So I try things a bit,
Because your heart is known to seek truth,
And I followed my hearts footsteps
It lead me to where I met you...
