look out the window

i look out the window
everything is beautiful
noting compares to this
the world around me
the smiles that can not be measured
i feel unsure
but i walk out
that made sense
that felt right

Premium Member Never Do Fashion Is Out the Window

Never wear red with pink, my mother cautioned in every way,
Do not wear blue with black or white jeans after Labor Day.
Only three colors to a room is the most pleasant to an eye.
But today I happened with my brilliant artist eye to spy….

A woman in a gorgeous red and pink outfit; she was fancy and smart.
Svelte and fashionable looking, she was wearing clothing as art.
I realized then that all color combinations can work in some way.
All it takes is imagination, and a willingness to do a bit of play.

Out the Window

Some windows let their occupants
See mountains or the sea
Or trees or yards with jungle gyms
But that’s not true for me.

I look outside and peer across
At buildings which provide
Innumerable apartments
With their windows multiplied.

But many people gazing out,
No matter what their view,
See snowflakes swirling in the air,
As snowflakes often do.

United by the weather
While we focus on the snow,
Nature sees us all as equals
As the flakes drift down below.

Premium Member Staring Wistfully Out the Window

the dwelling was quite bright
but we had such a battle
climbing the staircase
moving furniture about

with things now arranged
we’re sitting at our breakfast nook
sipping steaming hot coffee
while staring wistfully out the window

Premium Member Looking Out the Window

I’m lying in the sun, looking out the window
Watching some flying things.
A shape hits my view. Was that a flying frog?

The underside looked like a scrawny half-grown chicken.
The next thing I see hurled up into the air
Is half wasp, half faerie, with a huge underbelly.

I sit up straight and pay full attention.
Grab my cellphone and get ready for some
National Geographic winner of the year pix.

Nothing flies by now except a few regular birds.
All laughing at me, knowing my predicament.
Regular day in the country after too much sun.

Looking Out the Window

When I awake in the morning
I thank Jesus for another day,
hoping that everything will go well.

But because of the world we live in
it can be hard,,sometimes I just stare
out the window and wonder where did
  it go?

  The laughter you can hear.
  The peacefulness of the earth.

I look out the window I see
  everyone in a hurry.
  Worried about their money issues,
They're working seven days week just
   to make it happen.

  Living and making ends meet.
Not slowing down to realize what really matters.
  God,family,and Love
 Appreciating what they have.

Yes, I look out the window
and see a mixed up world.
Stop and notice how things have changed.
  Get it right.

  Prioritize your life,
  it may just surprise you.
Don't just look at the window.
Lean on God,he's there for you.

Do Not Throw It Out the Window

J-ust don't throw it out the window,
E-ven though you're in trouble;
S-tay calm, firm, and patient,
S-oothe your mind, heart, and soul.
I-t's a new lease on life,
C-hance given by the Almighty;
A-llow it not to be wasted, let it instead bring you to glory.

A-n opportunity knocks but once,
P-repare to unlock the door;
O-pen it to welcome the gift,

O-bliterate the pain and sorrow;
L-et your life embrace the grace, don't throw it out the window.

Premium Member Two Dogs Staring Out the Window

Two dogs staring out the window
Looking for any movement in sight
Just one little trespassing kitten
Causes a symphony of barking delight

Two dogs staring out the window
See a fat Robin hopping along
One dog howls like a siren
The other dashes out for the lawn

Two dogs staring out the window
See people walking on the street
Up with their paws on the window
Barking loud and glaring teeth

Two dogs staring out the window
See another dog roaming free
Both dogs whine and whimper
Why oh why isn't that dog me

Two dogs sitting by closed curtains
Both heads low and feeling blue
No more staring out the window
That's enough barking out of you two.

OUT THE WINDOW

October 1st – There’s a tall tree down the block has
      gone all red at top
in this green, early autumn

It’s quite an unusual year,
With more rain than summer’s want to yield

There’s been no mid-July burning of lawns,
And the trees, bushes, ground cover gone wild

The whole has tried to produce an out-of-door pinch,
And I often stand looking out a window,
Absently inhaling the chlorophyll

Houses on either side are vacant – the economy to
blame – nor cat, nor dog reside,
But I image some ghostly pair seated on the steps,
      pets at their side

I put all this down as a, sort of, flowing jet
      companion to solitude,
And I – prisoner of the mind – watch black words
      take form,
Knowing there’s a whole, beautiful world with
      nature’s abundant warmth out there
Just waiting to be joined by needful company

The house is perfect for the autumn days
With the windows built just for the sunlight
Beautiful feel brought by the morning haze
Letting light in, letting things be real bright

With the windows built just for the sunlight
Looking out the window you see beyond
Letting light in, letting things be real bright
You can see out there a nice little pond

Looking out the window you see beyond
There’s a pathway that leads into the yard
You can see out there a nice little pond
Seeing and not being out there is hard

There’s a pathway that leads into the yard
It’s a tender sight that I am seeing
Seeing and not being out there is hard
Opening my heart, this is sure pleasing

It’s a tender sight that I am seeing
Beautiful feel brought by the morning haze
Opening my heart, this is sure pleasing
The house is perfect for the autumn days

Love Flew Out the Window - Revised

Love flew out the window, the wind took it away
Hoping you would catch glance, but you did not look its way

There are no beats filling my heart, our love is now untwined
Like a captain abandoning ship, I will leave it all behind

Ears not needed for listening, there is nothing to converse
Two people branded by papers that are difficult to reverse

Feeling like a punished child, I am done giving reasons
Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall...I just need a change of seasons.

While Looking Out the Window During Lunch

he comes here
everyday and picks
through the garbage
can. i guess i’d
be the same as him
if i had wings.

OUT THE WINDOW

our dear old spaniel
fast asleep by the window
blends so perfectly
with autumn colors outside
he whines paws the chair dreaming

our big old oak tree
ever but never changing
seems to reach the sky
while all surround they rustle
they dance they speak come alive!

i’m out the window
watching the autumn ballet
fixed on the minute
inhaling autumn’s sweet breath
then this flash of wings blue jay
