Out the Window

Some windows let their occupants See mountains or the sea Or trees or yards with jungle gyms But that’s not true for me. I look outside and peer across At buildings which provide Innumerable apartments With their windows multiplied. But many people gazing out, No matter what their view, See snowflakes swirling in the air, As snowflakes often do. United by the weather While we focus on the snow, Nature sees us all as equals As the flakes drift down below.

I'm fascinated by the profound silence falling snow creates, as though each flake were feeding on the days or nights remaining sounds. Great end stanza. / Maurice
