Premium Member Optimum Measure

Originally published in Out On a Limb, an Anthology for Friends, June 2020

They can put a man
On a pedestal,
Have him admired
Far and wide;
But he’ll never
Really be that tall
Unless he feels
That way inside.

The crowd can make
A man a king
And call him
A big success,
But he must reach
Goals he’s set himself
If he’s to find
True happiness.

A Piece Of My Gratitude: the remix

OLODUMARE
In mystic realms, where secrets sleep,
A tale of the creator who creates with optimum creativity.
Of Olodumare, the divine vine,
Who weaves every fabric of mine since before time

His words, like threads, of gold and fine,
Unfurl the tapestry of all that's mine.
Unlimited power, His strength does shine,
A creative force, that's truly divine.

With whispers soft, He calms my stormy sea,
Making the waters still as he leads me to still waters.
Faithful friend, He guides me through life's test and tempest
And in His love, my soul finds perfect rest.

His dominion vast, over all known and unknown
He reigns supreme, with wisdom and throne.
And to His majesty, I raise my voice,
In gratitude, for His redeeming choice.
With a grateful heart your creation says "thank you".

The death wish

Many a time, I woke up in mornings
That took me home even before brushing my teeth
I feel that my supplication last night was not an utter failure
And yet, that was not fully granted too!
And all I remember is the morning tea, with optimum milk and sugar
That never is a total perfection!

And the prisoner will be asked about the death wish
To surmise, the answer will be, “I yearn for relishing mangoes.”
“The mangoes would be available in the local fresh farm, after six months.”
They said.

The prisoner sufficed, “I do not mind waiting a bit more!.”

Why Haiku? Why so?
An inevitable question was in nuptial engagement

Hiatus, The speaker in dismay

Just in case!

Spirituality Truths

Our spirituality doesn’t shield us from life's tempests,
It doesn’t cloak from every day's tests,
It doesn’t envelope us from life’s crashing sea,
All these our eyes see.

Our spirituality fortifies us,
It creates a path for us through the woods,
Reinforcing strained moods,
It strengthens feeble limbs.

Though we walk in the light,
Midnight still creeps in,
Though we approach the fullness of radiance,
We're not separated from the night.

We sojourn in a world of mysteries,
We can't harness optimum victories,
Until the invisible is overthrown,
And we can access the throne.

Our spirituality doesn't answer all our questions,
Some answers are hidden in the deepest part,
Hope pulls our cart,
Till we get to the end of the road.

That night, under the stars
Whispers of Gotham
Under the wide open sky
Don't bring trouble to the innocent
As the bombs keep falling
Our world burns
Our dreams lie under the rubble
They have violated sovereignty
Why trouble the innocent?

On World Diabetes Day,2022

Diabetes is rampant here & there.
No organ in the body, does it spare.
All people with diabetes, we should scare,
About diabetes sequelae, without diabetes care.
And give glad tidings of normal life, with diabetes care.
With repeated lessons on diet, exercise & medication, prepare,
The patients’ minds & behaviour, for optimum diabetes care.
All nurses, educators and doctors in unison out there,
Should wage the war on diabetes, with no efforts to spare.
Even though with many faces,
Diabetes can stare,
With mustered spirits, technology & medications, it cannot dare.
Prevention, Remission & new Treatments, are there.
God-Willing, one day Diabetes shall be rare !

Comparable to the dash of a rare jewel.
The first flash to arise on the land crewel.
They'll be pawns of ice nets for all time.
Recent hope doesn't entail lyrics sublime.

But the iota of love that calls on it to emerge.
From stillness: the red-hot coal of love surge.
The artist heeds his tone starting to smolder.
Instantly, as if to brag toward a line bolder.

With his noble sentiments or his violin.
If it generates light or optimum vibes within.
When it arrives, a clean verse will sound.
Clean and calm as a mounting spring around.

The lake lies underneath a visible azure sky.
Nothing, not your name, nor mine, cry.

Loves Lost Time

A thunderous rumbling,
lightning flashing
all within my troubled brain,
I wander in a daze,
afraid of crashing.
The cause is plain,
I must see you again.

The passing years,
where each does live,
In joy and Sorrow,
and happiness spent,
Each with another,
who of themselves did give,
repaid by our lost time,
we to them lent.

It is not with covetous envy,
but with joy,
I look upon the sacrifice we made,
though self interest now,
is what we must employ,
For what has gone before,
was but a masquerade.

Millennia come and go,
and decades fade away,
I know that we,
should not have parted,
And rue what happened,
on that fateful day.
But time will not give back,
what man has started.

Exacerbate the problem,
convolute the time,
Pick the optimum moment,
grab it if you can,
To love beyond reason,
is said to be no crime,
Insipid love, however,
has no passion or elan.
and wastes the little, that there is,
Of the time of man.
