Running

I'm very good at it
 -- running that is:
Most my adult life
seems to have been
a treadmill of sorts:

Morning Gush. Got to love
those subway jousts! All us
elbow warriors fencing for
optimum position, wanting
fast entrance and propelled
retreat.

Elevating to the running-board of
city sidewalks and streets...step to the flow
or be bowled over, trampled upon. Tires, Florsheim, Nike, high heels~
They all mark deeply!

(Evening rush escape no less a trek)

Joggers make me laugh
heartily! Roadside exhibitionists,
inhaling deeply everyone’s
filth. I swear, that If there are
schedules and timetables in heaven,
God inadvertently has given
the Devil but another tempting card
to play.

This is very well written, Joe and the reference to joggers is amusing. I had hip surgery 2 months ago and can't run . But at least I can walk fast again and without a limp

Thank you, Andrea; so good to hear you are feeling better, able to get around unassisted. Bad hip is very painful and debilitating. Sounds like you had lots to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Blessings my friend. Wishing you continued strength and vitality.

Running is definitely a good sport. But if people jostle together to run as a routine practice and elbow each other, or trample on other's feet, l don't think it is going to bring any health benefits . Sensible thoughts, dear Joe.

Thank you, Valsa; wise and guiding comment. I rebel against schedules. I had a small trucking business for many years. Could not be late for pickups and deliveries come hell or high water. Don't believe I recall missing a day in twenty year, no matter how poorly I felt. Businesses depended on me. Production lines would loose thousands of dollars and important contracts if I messed up. A lot of responsibility I had for a lone, private contractor. All hours, all days had to be available. Lord was with me. What I did otherwise would have been impossible.

Thank you, Victor; just corrected a misspelled word...if only Spell Check knew what I mean instead of what I wrote. Have a great day my friend!
