You're my favorite distraction and
I'm not even trying to ignore it.
I think everyone knows it
Darling you complete me
I'm one lucky fella
don't you say
I'm clever
the Gods of love
has blessed me
if your interested in knowing
The smile that I'm showing
is inspired by one beautiful Lady
Fiancce I call her
I fell in love when
first
I saw her
We knew our love was
meant to be
I gotta ooh!
It's us together Ooh
Let love for ever
Ooh: it's us together
OOh it us together
Hey lady have you heard
The song she sings
I knew every word
She snaapped her fingers
asked me to dance
that was right my alley
ooh-ah-ooh gosh oh wolly
got my stuff gether real fast
this woman got my swaying
grooving and playing
I fell for her real fast
if it aint to much tomention
since I have your attention
marry me
so our love with last
It's one of those one's
you sway when
the music makes you feel
one's of those one's
you in love
when you know
love is real
broken souls and broken hearts,
the sleepless ones who look at torn stars,
the twinkling lights that blink afar,
city lights blurred with blinding cars,
are all befriended by the dreamless faces,
that look like lost and stolen art;
estranged glances and estranged words,
the sound of silence they've always heard,
fragrances of the night that are so absurd,
keep alive the sleepless ones who are lured,
by the dark and scary midnight,
when the sky bears no birds;
fluttering curtains and fluttering wind chimes,
the blazing noise that seeps in from the outside,
sleepless ones try their best to hide,
but Oh! It's already twilight,
the sun and moon sit beside,
while sleepless ones look at committed crimes;
a new dawn and a new day,
it has unwillingly arrived,
another night with no dreams,
another dark time where past screams,
when the moon hears no cries,
it means the sleepless ones have died.
Neither a patriot nor a cosmopolitan
I’m walking no party line, carrying no cross
Sorry for this, but I’m just metropolitan
Making the ends meet, giving no toss
About others, and they feel the same
About me, so we’re on equal footing
Have a nice day is the one thing we say
Whoever we meet, doesn't mean rooting, tooting
Once I had a dream to live by the sea
Then in the garden I wanted to spend
The rest of my days, but it wasn’t to be
So I waved goodbye to both dreams that I had
That’s how I see it, patriots and cosmopolitans
Immigrants, refugees, seekers of home
Set your sails straight away to the dearest ones
Otherwise, you are bound to make it alone.
Chase
sky-high,
nothing less.
No back up plan,
close your eyes and jump.
Here goes nothing.
The bold ones
flip that
switch.
Let them be.
Spirit-free!
Nor crowd them round, angels snubbing
With worry.
Your issue.
But God's too!
One with the winds; their bliss, wing-beat.
Laughed out through.
Thinking,
Feeling,
Moving,
Breathing fast and slow.
Questioning,
Releasing,
Learning,
"Where will my life go?"
Extending,
Contracting,
Radiating,
Sometimes shrinking when need be.
Remembering,
Experiencing,
Calling,
Who you were always meant to meet.
Shining,
Climbing,
Sinking,
Bouncing off the bottom floor.
Enjoying,
Embracing,
Attempting,
Brave is the one who questions what it's all for.
faeries guard the gate to Nirvana Valley
looking like models from Fashion Row Alley
their magic discourages evil hearts from wanting to stay
Feelings of repulsion compels them to run away
the faeries do not have to do anything except be.
Their goodness and kind souls scour people you see
how do you get them to leave? To vanish? To go?
the wee ones and children do not ask; they know.
She is a sop to insanity, a foreign minister that sounds off like a gong.' With such alien love
She is imbued, of all things strange.' And imported shoes..' all the time she's been around, we've watched living Aussies driven into the ground' hope assailed and
Men denigrated, women disenfranchised
My nerves; are by now raw grated, i've known cross-eyed mongrels, with a better view; of
Aussie values, ya-know? just things true blue..Like safe streets. And parks' like beaches and lakes, instead its
The chop-suey
Only; menu..Or an empty plate, I'll swear she trading noodles, for spaghetti sticks
As albo, creams of millions..
Its sick sick sick.' And things really won't
get better.' All the time this
Wong one, keeps.' Sending off; all
those loaded red letters.'
To the ones who didn’t make it past yesterday,
we remember you.
Not for the way your story ended,
but for every quiet moment
you tried to stay.
You carried storms
no one else could see.
You fought battles
that never made a sound.
And even on the days
you felt invisible,
your life touched more than you knew.
We speak your name
with softness,
with honour,
with the kind of love
that doesn’t fade just because you’re gone.
And to the ones still here,
reading this,
breathing through another hard morning,
your story isn’t finished.
Your light is still needed.
Your voice still matters.
Your tomorrow is worth reaching for.
May we live in a way
that remembers them,
and protects you.
May we choose compassion
before judgement,
connection before silence,
hope before the dark.
For the ones who didn’t make it past yesterday,
we carry you.
For the ones who did,
we’re glad you’re here.
("A Migration of Ghosts", 2023, original encaustic)
In the morning I lay in the bath
Slowly waking with a cup
My mind drifts half asleep.
Eventually I start to count
All the people I have met and known
Close and distant
Who are gone.
At first it’s an easy couple of handfuls
But then the longer I soak
The more the numbers add up.
Eventually several dozen names and faces
Have marched across my memory
Each one smiling for an instant
Caught in a moment of what I knew them for.
A parade of sorts, young and old
Which once opened to won’t seem to stop.
It’s not like I’m merely an observer either
Safe in the warmth of my bath,
Like them I’m moving inexorably from here
To there
A parade of sorts, each with our own allotted light
Candles big and small, dull or bright
But in the end nothing but a memory
In memoriam we erect in honor
Without a site.

Charlamagne was a witch who knew her groove
Her clothing was awesome, her fashion sense smooth
Her hair was braided with fluorescent oranges and pinks
She had marvelous peace signs, her boots were cuter than skinks.
She had a sense of herself, that oozed out of her pores
she dressed herself so well, it irritated naysayers and bores
her hat band was peppered with flowers we had never seen
This seemed to make the jealous ones even more mean.
Many Many Thanks for the special, precious moments spent together.
For as it has been said, just having touched our lives with each other.
Wish we could spend some more time or times together again.
But Fate is a wild animal with no promise or guarantee of staying forever.
We just have to let it go. Let Go.
I am most grateful for your time. For having met you.
It was nice while it lasted.
Knock all you want till you break down my door
Knock all you want till it aint there no more
Knock all you can till the wind burns your back
Knock all you can till the wood starts to crack
Knock all you will till you forget to see
Knock all you will till you give up on me
Knock all you please till your eyes start to cry
Knock all you please till the plants start to die
Knock all you can till the birds stop there song
Knock all you will till the silence is gone
Knock all you please till the world ends its war
Knock all you want no ones home anymore.
Failings are what i owe
Sorrows are what is in tow
Mournings are coming to and fro
But a light shall pierce the shadowed veils woe
Bested by guilt
But drawn to lies
Inner peace escapes
Peace's bonds that ties
Frantic for glory in an over glorified stage
Meddling the words forgetting to turn the page
In sight of the conquest but forgetting that you're free
That with loved ones, here and now is the place to be.
Heard from a nerd, who did say,
'A programmer today,
with all that power
at his fingertips,
is the man of the hour
and, wallflowers or not,
we don't stand a chance
as, to the same algorithm
we all dance,
hands on the keyboard
all fingers no thumbs
it's only done
with zeros and ones
and I believe,
for what it's worth,
blessed is the geek
(not the meek)
for he shall inherit the earth.'
