It was many years ago, that first time,
When, under protest, I entered stage right.
I was shy, not an extrovert back then
And every single seat was occupied.
I only had one line, and I stammered.
But they laughed!
And in that fleeting moment,
I fell in love and I knew
I’d act until the day I die
I've never before made it fit,
For eight rhymes in one line to sit.
Though it isn't wise,
I'd best stick with pi(e)s,
Smit wit quit, lit grit spit Brit ... snit.
She waltzed and tangoed on ballroom floor, her
partner an Umbrella !

Beneath a sky just brushed with gold,
Scott met a voice he used to hold—
Christina's laugh, a spark, a flame,
That time had dimmed but not untamed.
They talked as if the years had fled,
In verses spun from things unsaid.
Each word a thread, each smile a sign,
Two poets tracing back a line.
The coffee cooled, the hours flew,
Yet every glance felt strange and new.
She spoke of storms and calmer seas,
He listened close, he let her be.
He wiped a tear that slipped her cheek,
Not out of sorrow—just too deep.
The kind of feeling soft and slow,
That only wounded hearts can
His heart is full and she can tell,
For her own heart felt this as well.
No rush, no scripts, no grand design—
Just wondering if stars align.
He cares, but lets the silence speak,
No promises, just week by week.
One date, one poem, one subtle chance,
To share a spark, a second dance.
She writes, he reads—then he replies,
In quiet ink beneath wide skies.
Two souls who once had slipped apart,
Now writing stanzas of the heart.

i am posting this in hopes that those who entered my contest with more than one line of poety will correct their line to read as only ONE line.
One of my examples was this:
Accepting, diligent, and alert, I am dedicated and almost always amiably deliver.
The idea was to create something similar to a monoku. Right now I have received only eight entries done correctly in the contest, so you have until the end of February to revise your one line if you entered my contest. I made a blog,but I fear not many people will see my blog. MAybe more people will see this now. The title I would give my line is simply A D.
I had given a second example, but i guess I confused a few poets who believed I wanted two poems from them.
Please test your lines by posting them to see if they come out as only one line. If it does, I will give your too-long line an HM. Those who do more than two lines will get N/A. I guess i am someone who makes my contests too particular? So sorry.
