Oddly Enough

"Go along to get along" a wise man he once said
(altho' I don't concur)
but it occurred to me
neither follower nor leader be if you want to get ahead
and if the herd you stroll behind please do consider the view
(but not too closely)
yet what is worse yes you may curse
that which you step into
some believe the squeaky wheel it should be removed
(not receive the grease)
as all's smooth-run when replaced by a working one
or so it has been proved
to mindlessly open the mouth thoughtless of going kaput
(only to change feet)
it seems to me an opportunity to put a bullet in one's foot
the nail that sticks out it should be applauded
(not hammered down)
as one may fall for anything
and those who stand for something they should be rewarded
tho' possibly preaching to the choir some say it's idle chatter
(willy-nilly silly patter)
let's not forget to forgive or to live and let live
as ALL lives matter

Premium Member Something Oddly Familiar About This Nonsense

“Abe, easy Dee, effigy, eight chives, Jake, ale, Em,
any hope, peak you, arrest a ewe, feed other ewe”
                                                            ex-wife said

     she certainly SPELT it out!
he then went on to reCOUNT

“When, too, furry forks, fave socks sieving, eat known tin”

and there was something oddly familiar about it all
when ex-husband and ex-wife spoke their nonsense

Uniquely Oddly

UNIQUE

Why I

Well technically I am and always have
and will be considered

Odd

So I suppose in essence

Maybe in reality in fact I actually am

As Odd is Unique

Isn't it

So Yes

Thanking you Sincerely

Kind Regards

Maybe now it's time for me

To own my own individual

Oddly Made In Heaven

He was most handsome, blond?
and glamorous,?
everyone said so.?
?
While in repose?
her face was dull and unremarkable,?
yet when her features were animated?
they shone transcendent,?
the light of her?
made all drift to her aura.?
?
When he with his film-star looks?
did grin or simper,?
perceptive folks saw only?
the rainbow colors of a baboons backside.
?
Oddly enough they wed each other?
only to produce offspring,?
having neither light, nor presence.?
?
When those progeny, full grown,?
did turn away from any tête-à-tête,?
they left no colorful residue?
at all.

Premium Member An Oddly Warm December

Twenty twenty one was odd from beginning to end
December was oddly warm with hardly a chilly wind
The rose bushes kept a blooming and folks still mowed
We did need rain but hardly a drop ever showed
January roar like a winter beast with icy winds a blast
New Years Day was rainy with temperatures dropping fast
With wind chills it was ten below even got a little snow
Twenty twenty two begins back like we always knew
Mother Nature freezing us in coldness deep blue
The furnace keeps the house cozy and warm
Baking in the oven for winter treats we all yearn
Sleeping with extra blankets and the cat and two dogs
If you walk by the fireplace throw in an extra log
Goodbye twenty twenty one we had enough of you
Hello twenty twenty two may our faith and hopes come true

Oddly, Life

How swiftly moves the time
when life is so sublime!
But soon the hours grow cold
Our movements become old.

Much better is our worth
when slender is the girth.
We skip hop jump with joy,
such exercise employs.

But time we know rolls on
with the ringing of the gong,
where new insight is the prize
life sets before our eyes.

How overwhelming is the view
when things owed will come due!
Oddly some live long enough
to collect their missing stuff.

Oddly Ozzy

the constant
music in my mind
melodic loops
and melodies

transposed lines
juxtapose the left
brain video that
could be a photo

of you
for you
to me

your face filling
the screen but only
your eyes blink
as your silver smile

stays the same
all the while
my soundtrack
plays back around

again and again
the electric guitar
synapse riff of
Crazy Train

Time oozes
Depletes fast
Odd snoozes
Fade at last

Oddly enough
Age soon churns
Loss frames stuff
To ash turns

Is it strange?
Loss keeps score
Ooze meets change
At the door

Time and space
Fade each day
Age frames face
In end play

Start with cheer
To live spell
Age my dear
Must soon tell

Oddly Neurotic

I told my hubby I would never get a puppy ever again,
but hey, aren’t they supposed to be a woman’s best friend?
So I scooped up Brady in my arms one warm June day,
brought him home with my daughter Ella to laugh and play.

He was a shy pup, until the day he seemed to go crazy,
started gnawing fiercely on his leg, it really did amaze me!
He’d fall asleep on and off with his leg in his mouth; weird!
him becoming oddly neurotic like us I really feared!

I gently went to him to pick up his sobbing wet puppy paw,
and guess what, you’ll never believe what I actually saw!
Crunchy peanut butter embedded up and down his thighs,
I should'a never got a puppy! (I very soon realized.)

I guess that afternoon Ella was making peanut butter and jelly,
her hands got all messy and she went to pet his golden belly.
He chewed in between naps and even fell asleep that night,
with his back leg in his snout holding it peanut buttery tight!

*true story about my puppy (he's 9 months old) the picture says it all*

Oddly Thankful

I miss you in ways
      I often can’t say
Because I don’t have the right
      To miss you that way
I have to be happy
     With time that I get
It’s a deal I’ve accepted
      Not ideal but yet
I adore every minute
       I get to just chat
To see you, to hear you,
       I am thankful for that

Unspoken words speak,
Unsaid yet find voice;
Unfurl that high peak,
Undo that odd poise.

Heed unknown thoughts hurl,
Here dense meaning swirls;
Heap as touch unfurls,
Hear taut feelings curl.

Glimpse how time moves flow,
Gain that telling know;
Give thought to strange glow,
Grip for the trip shows.

Oddly Optimistic

Hope and a prayer, a dollar to spare.
A dream to one day breath in millionaire.
By my calculations, it's always the same.
You just cannot win if your not in the game.

A new house, a car, perhaps travel far.
Try not to spend all my time at the bar.
Buy a new mattress to continue sweet dreams.
Holding tight to the hope, that it's all that it seems.

So why should it be that the winner is me?
When so many have payed in so I can live free.
In life there are winners and sometimes their not.
Some say that the tricks being glad what you got.

Well I have not won, so I do not know.
What it feels like to finally have all that dough.
I pinch every penny and squeeze every dime.
And spend my last dollar hoping this is the time.

Oddly Canadian

Breakfast at the Deer Lodge,
Moose Tick,
Salmon Harbour,
Beaver Bay by the evergreen,
left reminded of
B.C Bud at 17,
time is
water under the bridge.

I live in Toronto,
and drown in Maple syrup;
Canadian Bacon.
A joke.
