All our grandparents were deceased;
As were also both our mom and dad.
I don't know why I wanted to know,
nor what I would do if there were
coverups or secrecies in our family.
Is there any SKELETONS in our family closet?
That was the question to my oldest sister.
At first, she did not understand the question.
Immoralities, misbehaviors, unthinkable things?
Unsavory, mean spirited, and things unspoken?
Family secrets hidden from most everyone?
Dark deeds done behind closed doors?
It has been 28 years since I asked the question.
I have not seen or heard anything to the contrary.
My sister was genuine, and I knew she would be true.
I could feel the sincerity in her voice when she said,
I know of no SKELETONS in our family.
Billionaires oh billionaires
Stop counting your stocks and shares
While the workers break their backs
You need to pay more bloody tax.
It is rather funny
That you make much of your money
From government contracts
While the poor face your attacks.
Just stop being jerks
Enjoying tax deductible perks
And resist the need
For unquenchable greed.
Give money to worthy causes
Don’t worry about your future divorces
Don’t worry about IRS raids
You might save someone with HIV/AIDS.
This is something I’m sure you know
“You can’t take it with you when you go”
So make human compassion
The overwhelming fashion.
Please listen to my gentle persuasion
And go easy on the tax evasion
People won’t just like you for your wealth
They’ll be attracted to your generous self.
It’s never too late to start
So think of others and open your heart
Do what the mean spirited lacks
And pay your fair share of tax.
In this fading time at life’s end
I am at a loss on the motives of men
All the problems I have ever met
Have only really ever come from them
Never from any animal, sunrise or sunset
Neither from trees nor bees nor flowers
Nor swirling sands nor an overflowing river
Nor any kind of storm nor summer shower
Has caused me grief or made my heart quiver
Or overcome my understanding or my will
As those actions of mean-spirited men unstill.
No forest moves nor sea waves pound
To tear me from my holy ground
Only men divided in themselves from God estranged
Have required miracles to keep my mind still and tamed
Anchored in body, empowered in the Divine and sane
off with her head said the king
relishing that he got by with it too
a trial edict that made him laugh and sing
and made the senator’s family sad and blue
off with his arms, off with her legs
king’s edicts were swiftly and brutally carried out
checks and balances no longer had legs
six more dead bodies were carried out
the killings got worse; no one said a word
the king’s bullyish ways are sanely absurd
half the village was murdered in a very small time
the rest were so terrified, they no longer said “no king of mine”.
they kept their mouths shut, afraid they would be next.
when the king came to visit, they dropped to a genuflect.
eventually, they were dragged out and killed anyway.
The king was a mean-spirited bully, each and every day.
a word thrown_
an action meant to hurt this soul
a mean-spirited person smiles with wickedness
my tears fall ...
and my broken soul swirls with heartache and pain
in disbelief I want to run-away and hide
NO !!!
I will stand tall and strong
and face this evil demon face-to-face
and will just be "beautiful me" inside and out
Cooking Up Words
Miracle Man
November 6, 2023
Words, too often are seasoned with malice,
cooked up in a heart and tongue that’s callous.
They look for the palate of the one intended,
and once devoured can never be amended.
No thoughts exist toward soft kill inflicted,
mean spirited people just launch unrestricted.
Sunk comfortably aloof in his mauve reading chair
Dad's evening reverie; pipe, cheese, crackers and book
His world vanished in smoke swirling into the air
For his family; an occasional vacant look
Yet he'd take time to spin me a bedtime story
Of enchanted lands and daring schemes
Flights of fancy depicting heroic glory
Betraying his real life's unmet dreams
My dad's inner home, the one he preferred
Was far from our world's cruel, petty strife
His family and solace was the written word
Though he was good to his kids and true to his wife
This world was too much with him somehow
A scathingly mean-spirited bother
But I just remember his soft kindness now
Blessed to have had such a father
I am appalled..Sickened.' uncomprehending..!
Why a medical facility 'namley fort sanders'
Small s...' Intentional..) discharged this suffeing
Woman..? How could they.? Are they a care facilty?
Or a scare facility.'? Can any out there advise me?
On the oppresive actions, started by the obviously
Heartless, mean spirited caller. Who requested that
Police attend.' And they did.' four callous minded cops
That mocked, and accused an innocent person with
Sarcasam...In the depths of her despair she pleaded
She called out..Sir..! I am incensed..I am in despair.!
To witness the mental torture..The physical inhibiting
Actions of the four thugs.' Will anybody own friendship
With these pieces of excrenent.!? Slime is above them
Thats how low they live.' I don't want to know their
Names even..' its so toxic their action.' Beyond sick.'
And the pathology.. dept..Are protecting these scum.'
In Knoxville, a place I would think on twice before going.'
With people in charge like this, and others above them'
Yet well below..? Below the lowest level of contempt.'
If you look for
ugly
You'll See it
If you stare
too long
You'll be it
When we
Speak without thinking
to tickle the ear
There is something
to ponder
So as to see clear
When we talk
Just
to disrepute
A manslayer
We become
Killing a reputation
It is mean spirited fun
Just imagine should
The tables turn
And you be the one on the block
being happily sliced and
Diced about
After throwing the very first rock
Being righteous over much
doesn't aid
One righteous to be
Remember but for
The grace of God
goes walking you and me
now my old house
Ain't made of glass
But I'll try to keep this in mind
When slinging,and flinging
around words that I
Choose the ones that are kind
blonde hair
an immediate impression
for some a happy, marvelous one
others immediately look for prissy, or a snob
Some think she must be a lively dancer
red hair
an immediate impression
for some a wild, crazy, wonton woman
others think she must be a liar, a thief,
some think reliable, dependable, trustworthy
brunette hair
an immediate impression
For some a disrespectful, mean-spirited wench
others think she must be loving and caring
Some think she’s probably got the best sense of humor
First impressions.
It behooves us to become aware of them.
We immediately have feelings that may in no way
make any sense at all.
Isn’t it time we gave everyone a fresh start
in spite of our first impressions?
What of the mean spirited rhetoric or actions by bullies, seemly always directed at the weaker, the misunderstood, the different, outside of the clique that's in. To listen and not object, is validation by silence, is it not? How can it end, if not challenged by a friend. How can it end, if free to exist and flourish, without a penalty or downside, pausing the trend, no matter the tribe in power at the end. Who will stand up, to the attacks and suppression of spirits, causing insides to cower. How much time needs to go by, before instead of bullying having power, causing laughter and derision, we all come to a collective decision. To help the consciousness of a bully, unlearn the path of pain, generated by life's wrong turns. Better sooner then later, before ashes become forgotten, in so many urns.

Helpful, loyal
Hugging, empathizing, respecting
Heart, warmth, heel, harm
Humiliating, uncaring, insulting
Hateful, mean-spirited

Shirley Lou McDying was obnoxious and loathsome.
Please let me add despicable, irritating and spiteful.
There was frankly nothing delightful.
But we co-workers resisted using terms that sing.
because she was new, so we gave her a few thousand chances.
But she was a back-biting, evil, mean-spirited thing.
We discussed her evilness and her jealous strife,
Until the boss made his little announcement
that Shirley Lou was going to become his wife.
It is weird how fast we tried desperately to
find at least one thing likeable about Miss McDying.
An impossible task, but he had given us impossible
tasks before, so we kept trying.
There once was a young hooker named Claudey
Her laughter was exceedingly bawdy
The johns did not mind
Her breasts were so fine
Lacy panties were sexy and gaudy
On Tuesday she met a young priest named Joe
He paid his money and gave it a go
His collar came off
And Claudey did scoff
Being a mean-spirited little ‘ho.
The truth was revealed…
He knew of Covid-19;
Lying Devil’s son…
She gave fair warning,
Arrogance ignored her name;
She…Covid-19
It’s 2020
Confirmation was last year;
Named, Covid-19
You lying bastard,
Name given…Covid-19
You smirked at her name…
She, Covid-19,
Announced that she was coming;
You said, “no way……”
It’s 2020
Confirmation was last year;
Named, Covid-19
We rebuke your lie,
Truth was in her given name;
Miss Covid-19…
It’s 2020…
Covid-19 arrived last year;
You kept her secret…
Pandemic lying,
Testing November’s waters;
Truth’s tidal wave waits…
Sick pea-cock brained fool…
Scared mean-spirited coward;
Meet lion-hearted truth…
It’s 2020…
Confirmation was last year;
Named, Covid-19
2019 came;
Left dirty baggage behind
A Pandora box…
We will remember,
You ignored Pandora’s box;
We will not forget…
It’s 2020…
Confirmation was last year;
Named, Covid-19…
Pandora’s anger,
Idiot’s audacity;
Pandemonium
It’s 2020
Confirmation was last year;
Named, Covid-19
Pandemonium…
Retribution is coming;
God is on the throne…
