Me. Poems

Bugs And Me

Weird beetles with stripes.
Spiders puffed up.
In the kitchen.
Insects.

Ladybugs don’t usually do much.
Except enjoy the cookies in the pantry.
I don’t know if it’s my imagination.
But spiderwebs are breathing.

Surrounded by these bugs.
While making pastries in my kitchen.
Go the living room.
Where grasshoppers live too.

The bedroom is

I carry your heart within me

i carry your heart within me
(quiet as breath
and louder than silence)

the sky folds itself
into your eyes—
blue, unending, unafraid

i am no longer a single leaf
trembling against the wind,
for you are my tree—

the root in my marrow,
the blossom in my sleep,
the star i do not name
but endlessly follow

if all worlds vanished
(i would still remain
because you are here)

i

Premium MemberThe Other Me Was Unimpressed

The events of last evening were such
that I awoke this morning to find
I was beside myself—
not metaphorically,
but in the most literal sense:
two versions,
one body short.

The mirror caught us first—
a flash of double movement
where there should have been one.
I blinked.
He didn’t.
Or maybe I didn’t.
It’s hard to say
when glass begins to lie.

We shared a glance,
the kind exchanged

Letters Lift Me

Letters lift me
When my world drowns
Hearing smiles in her voice
I know love exists

Cherish every minute
Days, weeks, hours
Counting as she sleeps
Waiting for her to wake

Breathing small hours
As our paths align
Brushing through our destiny
Drinking outrageous fortune

Our cores braided
Bodies untouched
Searing blood in our veins
Heavenly tides of emotions

Transparent hearts
Hewn of fire and glass
Fusing with critical mass
An indivisible

Premium Memberpainting relaxes me

I get out my acrylic paints and begin choosing colors I like
Draw out a cartoon cat wearing a tam riding a bike
after the paint dries, I add glitter glue so it has some sass
If anyone wants me to leave my art studio, I take a quick pass.

Painting and cartooning are hobbies that keep me fresh

Time Has Finally Caught Up With Me

Time has finally caught up with me —
A hush upon the bone —

The Mirror whispers differently —
Than when I stood — alone.

The Mind once fleet as Sparrow’s wing —
Now trembles — in the air —

As if the Thought — forgot its perch —
And left me — waiting — there.

The Body bends — where once it

Rescue me

In a room full of faces all with nothing
To say

Full of anticipation just waiting for a chance to get away

All sat in a circle not talk but in
Silence

Eye's full of emptiness and a head full
Of violence

Not hearing the words that are coming
From within

Just trying to escape the

Premium MemberTeach Me to Love

Teach me to love

Need. Yes. A woman.
To love
Learn the love

Again. I am deeply disappointed
In the women
The reality is that fearing

I am afraid of the law and women
If I watch a woman, that could be sexual harassment
If I touch a woman, that is sexual harassment

I have no law. No protection
I am a victim of a

A strange sorrow once married me

Life, come thou unhurried to me,
Said she, it’s long buried, to me.

A strange sorrow once married me,
Wonder who’d it carried to me.

Once a bubble dared laugh at me,
Blown soon, it looked harried to me.

Where’s the strainer that filters sins?
The query stands parried to me.

What all my joys can sweep aside,
Such brooms have never worried

Premium MemberMe a zookeeper ?

The insane things I would do if I was
a keeper at a zoo

I would tell an owl he's aloud to blink
And tell a skunk that he doesn't stink

I would show the lion who is king
And teach the bees how to sing.

I tell the hygiene its OK to cry
And encourage the penguins to fly

I

Premium MemberWhy Didn't You Love Me?

Why didn’t you love me?

Can you remember? Hmm. You can’t
My poor fate hoped a woman. Yeah

She is a top. Top lady. I waited. In a pub
Never came. Hmm. Passed the years

I became a hard alcoholic single man
Loved this amazing linguistic woman

I needed for love and language teacher
Hmm. Never came. My honest heart is in pain

I

When my eyes close for my final sleep
Don't dig a hole to burie me deep

Release my soul into a westerly breeze
Close to nature flowers and trees

Make it at sunrise at the first light of day
For The rays of the sun to show me the way

With the mist rolling in and the fresh morning

Let me love you

Only a second, what I need
Only a second in our lives

Only a heartbeat of you
I hear it. Your love is true

Give me this moment
Just this. Your touching

My heart is beating the last
Lightning. I breathed my last

I loved you
This moment
Was
All my life

Thank
You

Bring to me seed of darkness

Bring t’me seed of darkness special,
I’ll from dawn, of brightness special.

Thoughts crowd the mind dressed as special,
Some more so, some are less special.

What to wear, what not’s worth weighing,
In merit, one’s dress is special.

In today’s times of power and puff,
No less is one’s address special.

Bring to me a man bogged with blame,
Confess

Premium Memberklutzy with water glasses

I knocked over another glass of water today
wait
today it was only a bit of water and lots of ice
If I had a nickel for every glass I had knocked over lately
I could refinish my bathroom floor with nickels

I could never trust myself with a glass of juice
Hoping those sticky messes are behind me
Especially grape juice
