Notes About The Poem
"This above all; to thy own self be true. And it must follow, as the night the day. Thou canst not then be false to any man." -William Shakespeare (Hamlet)

I Have To Be Me

I forget the bar sometimes
And offer up my honest rhymes.
No underlying meanings to puzzle through;
No flourishes to add more goo.
Just plain and simple is my way.
With familiar words, I'll have my say.
You'll get my message right away.
