Shadow of Tears

Where tears rolled down Signal Hill

there rivulets formed Shadow

following twin’s auburn will ~

through blue moons and red, Mars stared

as Shadow birthed mottled mares

now she rolls back citrus flares

onto face, blemishes dare !

Premium Member stubborn opinionated doll named Mare

Dorothy had a stubborn opinionated doll named Mare.
Mare had a persnickety attitude, her nose in the air.
I am taking in boarders, she told the stunned Dorothy.
So far I have signed on two, with a possible three.

Dorothy was intimidated by this doll named Mare.
She told others, but they laughed, for they did not care.
How can I get rid of her? She asked her cousin, Jer.
He decided to talk to this creature, named Mare.

Jer ended up signing up to become a boarder too.
So now she had three for sure, said Sue.
Sue is Dorothy’s cousin who also tried.
But came away angry, with her hair all fried.

What happened to your hair? I asked mad Sue.
That doll gave me a bad perm, and I tipped her too!
Why would you tip her then? I asked Sue. How can that be?
Because, she told me, her scary attitude intimidated me.

Handled Mare with Care Horn Haiku

what we will look for
what waits for us at the door
will be more and more

weather may be bleak
when to God would speak
Him will always seek

what God would suggest
you will score high on my test
always do your best

truth has passed us by
in legalism up tie
much of do deny

when God rode a mare
slick and brown would be his hair
handled horse with care

Water Snake Night Mare

A bad sleep and I had to wake!
A long fight with as much long snake
From land progressing to a lake
I knew not what to of it make,
Save that Precious Life was at stake…

Inside the lake did I more ache,
For in it did more troubles take,
Not warned it was a water snake
And the swimming fighter ‘its cake’…
To plunge into water bakes cake.

Knight Mare

I miss you most 'twixt dusk and dawn
Wondering where you might have gone
Like Little Bo Peep
I'm stuck counting sheep
Thinking of you with nothing on

Premium Member Mare Does Things Her Way

Mare will harvest her pumpkins one of these years
Cheers to you all, she says, for she is unorthodox and crazy.
Lazy is her middle name, for the pumpkins all rot.
Not that she cares, for she is unconcerned about such stuff.

Rough hands look like they have gardened, but she has not.
Rot is what you find in her pumpkin patch this year again.
Kin roll their eyes at her sloth-like ways, but she does not care.
Mare does things in her own way, in her own time. She is strange.

Range rover in her driveway has not been driven for a long time.
Mime her sister tries to get her to be more normal of course.
Hoarse laugh from Mare now. She is independent to a fault.
Malt their brother thinks this is hilarious, but he loves her.

Pure thinking keeps her in the family, for she is kind.
Mind you, she does her best, they say, making excuses.

A Hare For a Mare

It was to prove Some Sort of Snare,
When he, got the Gift of Hare
While he’d wanted to keep A Mare…

He wasn’t sure how he would fare,
Whether he wouldn’t be left bare;
What The Hell knows he of Hare,
Except its furs not like our hair…

Perhaps, he should sit on some chair
To reflect on the gift - Quite Rare
And see what and what he might dare
To sell off The Mare like a ware
And The Hare kill in Public Glare
To be rid of The Stupid Pair!

When I Shall Begin To Care

What do I care
When at me eyes stare
Or at me glare
And I safe from every snare?

Why should I ever care,
When you can’t hurt my hair
Or much worse things dare:
The Terrible the Unfair?

Begin I shall to care
With a dispossessed mare
Or a made-away ware
And I can’t find it anywhere.

Premium Member A Mare Usque Ad Mare

The motto for Canada is, A Mare Usque Ad Mare, you see,
it is Latin from the Old Testament of the Bible taken;
Psalm 72:8 "He shall have dominion from sea to sea,
and from the river unto the ends of the earth"(I like it !)
So, since 1921 it has been Canada's motto "from sea to sea"
we touch the Pacific, Artic, and Atlantic (that's neat you must admit !)
I have never figured out why the motto should not be,
"from ocean to ocean to ocean" the country would with pride awaken;
but what does this girl know in reality.

The motto represents a country with open doors,
we have beautiful forests, mountains, wilderness and ocean shores;
Canada is a country of unity and diversity and we have great beer !
Our borders accept all who need a safe haven from wars,
we are a country of peace keepers from sea to sea;
of course, I am proud and bias because I am lucky to be born here !

Planet Water, Mater Mare-
earth and sky is everywhere
throughout all solar systems,
but water-based organisms
like us, and kin, need water
as maker and sustainer.

Premium Member The Old Gray Mare

Old gray mare ain’t what she used to be
Aging in almost every way you see
Her hair turning white
Teeth losing their bite
Sleeping less deeply every single night

The Coffin-Maker

Tight like
coffin,
black like
nightmare...
The coffin-maker likes his black tight
wagon, driven by the mare at night.

The judge sits
Solemn and orderly
Weighing salient points
Juggling facts
Deciphering nuances
Pondering implications
On justice and righteousness
Upholding the law of the land
A mari usque ad mare*
Rendering verdicts
Remotely somewhat
Inspired through time
By King Solomon’s wisdom
