Legend of BIG MAMA

From way down in "Bama"
Stirring echoes of Big Mama

A thunderous storm that brewed from the Deep South
Each word could be felt when it left her mouth

With her immense presence, showmanship, and confidence
She would capture the hearts and minds of her audience

She stood tall, shoulder to shoulder amongst the sultans of Blues
She didn't have to pretend or put on 'cause she stood comfortably in her shoes

A woman, a beautiful black woman oozing with creativity and soul
In her kitchen, she took lemons and made pitcher after pitcher of sweet lemonade that she always served cold

Oh, Big Mama you brought that good medicine to the soul when you sang
You bellowed melodies that reached up and tugged on them heartstrangs

Oh, Big Mama I see ya' cookin' with your horn, too
Blowin', just blowin' so beautifully like only a few

You were so good that some felt a need to copy you and steal your money
Shameful shadowy expressions of a "Hound Dog" depraved music industry

Never to be replicated or duplicated
One of one, you were, but still, you're often imitated

From way down in "Bama"
Still goes stirring echoes of Big Mama

Premium Member Mae West Sensual Frog

Mae West Sensual Frog was the ultimate diva
Who outshone saloon gals like Francine and Steveah
Attended parent teacher conferences in a sexy gown.
Green eyes popped out of new teacher’s head, Mr. Toado Brown.

Courtney Mae Or Courting May

Come now, Spring! You’re such a fickle young thing!
On the wings of newborn feathers, your wiles
up and downturn winds to sudden cold flings
tripping warming skins to tremble a while…

Next come your silken color-filled fancies!
Eyes beckoned, step out to be near such charms…
Yens still, as you march as perfumed dandy,
masking musky breath, that breezes sneezed harm…

And when April comes along, your eye gleams!
Enchantment grows, then fades to slushy mush….
Becoming crystals, shatter in your steam
Oh how she weeps, for diamonds rained to slush!

Rivers gush your youth’s enthusiasm ~
Now, may you calm, ere you deepen chasms ~

Premium Member Little Curly Mae

I'm yelling at a squirrel today
Then watching her just whirl away
Her name is Little Curly Mae
She's such a pretty girl I'd say
But eats the birdseed from the tray
Then hides herself inside her dray.

Premium Member Uppity Cat Named Mae

Mae was too soft, too easy, and prone to believing every dud.
They would swindle her, steal from her, persuade her to invest.
You need some guardians, her great aunt told her, like Pud.
Pud was a twenty-six year old Tomcat that could survive any test.

Pud also had an instinct about men, and trusted almost none.
Having him around was good, but extra cats would be more fun.
So Mae brought home two more purr-balls, Muffins and Mr. Eyes of Blue.
The four of them were intimidating, and kept her money safe and true.

Premium Member Daisy Mae

Daisy Mae is walking by the scented jade meadow,
of warm butterscotch days and mulberry sundown,
And in the green trees, lingers a murder of crows,
Lying in wait for raven night, when luster abounds!

Vast skies are teal, and a whisper's on the breeze.
She is lost in the moment, as the sunshine pours,
And scarlet and purple birds sing in different keys,
As meadow and moor, thrum in vibrant discourse.

Presente Dia Da Mae

Presente Dia das mães 2022

Mães do presente
MÃES DO FUTURO
quero muito que a história
de valentes mulheres
inspirem você, filhos e filhas.

Que você, mãe
imprima
na mente
a profunda convicção
de que a beleza
se manifesta
em todas as formas,
cores e idades.

Quero que cada uma
das valentes mulheres
? VOCÊS ?
que lêem essa mensagem
reconheçam seus sucessos
e vivam uma vida repleta
de paixão,
curiosidade
e generosidade.

Que todas
nos lembremos
todos os dias
que você nasceu pra
a felicidade e a liberdade.

Premium Member Lily Mae Mcswiggle

Lily Mae McSwiggle buttered her blueberry croissant
And talked about her distant long-dead aunt
A fascinating way for us teachers to spend our mid-morning break
Almost more than most of us, especially me, could take.
I said to McSwiggle, “Break-time is for a little peace and quiet!”
It was obvious she was not paying any attention to her diet
So, we had to listen, like it or not, to how McSwiggle’s aunt died
I couldn’t get that woman to shut up, no matter how hard I tried!

Premium Member Mae Sot Garbage Tip Toy-Land

Down in the dumps today
Children work not play
The flies have swarmed
A stench has formed
Seagulls cry all day.

Down in the dumps today
Maggots pulse and flay
It reeks to hell
Children become unwell
Amidst a haze of decay.

Down in the dumps today
Life’s turned ash grey
Some children are gone
But nobody mourns
When waste rots away.

Down in the dumps today
Children restocked and stay
Given sticks to dig
Scavenge like pigs
Toy-landfill of dismay.

Where snakes rats
and broken glass
torment kids to this day.

Dia Das Mae:Chega

Dia das mães: Chega

Em todos os tempos,
sempre, nos dias da pandemia,
hoje mais do que nunca
é o tempo da mãe empreendedora
é dia das mães,
quem presenteia é a mãe.

A mãe de hoje,
presenteia com palavras:
Filhos e filhas,
para hoje
para os dias da década
hoje mais do que ontem,
a busca do carinho
é a força do progresso.

Seja uma pessoa animada.
faça um pouco a mais
e sua mãe, todas as mães,
vão estar abraçadas.

she was tall and thin
she loved to drink gin
